08/5/2008 17:05 | James- you buying yet? | alan@bj
08/5/2008 16:34 | Rebess Sorry about the delay in replying- was looking for my source. From one of their own leaflets about Kielder........... Northumbrian Water own and operate the reservoir and the Environment Agency are responsible for the water management. | jaywood
08/5/2008 10:24 | .... And I thought utilities were a safe haven intimes of market turmoil.... | killieboy
06/5/2008 11:36 | tht non ex director timed his sales well hope he didnt have some inside news ahead | manrobert
06/5/2008 11:19 | James, it would be quite a drop but I'm watching as well. If it gets close I will have a buy order on. | optomistic
06/5/2008 11:17 | I may yet get some at £3.00 | james93
02/5/2008 15:42 | Once again back in......should be good for a bounce to 340 once again! | aspers
02/5/2008 09:38 | In this age of the credit-crunch and the implications it may have on business generally, I'm concerned at the very high gearing aspect of NWG's make-up. If the bank's start to screw the nut, as I'm sure they are already, I'm wondering what effect it might have on NWG. | rebess
01/5/2008 21:50 | i dont fancy water from a manged reservoir - can't they treat it with something? | topgallant
30/4/2008 14:36 | Jaywood Read your post 884. Just for information, Kielder is not owned by Northumbrian Water, I believe it's an asset owned by the Government. It is however, managed by NWG. | rebess
30/4/2008 12:09 | That's the answer, charter a couple of 737's to send a FEW of his advisors to Spain (working of course) LOL | optomistic
30/4/2008 11:54 | Suspect house prices, council tax, fuel costs, and badly run banks are more likely to figure in political terms. Though when you look at how forward thinking Spain is in terms of encouraging alternative energy (electricity being one of a water utilities biggests costs) it makes you wonder if Brown needs to sack some of his advisors or at least send them to Spain for a refresher. | praipus
30/4/2008 11:16 | alan@bj ..... don't worry, no offence taken. Re the regulator. I have this nagging feeling the water companies may face pressure to keep down their prices as a result of the rising cost of almost ever other household bill. | james93
29/4/2008 17:10 | James93 - glad to see you are of this planet. Just a bit of fun, no offence meant. I think your appraisal (post894) is well-balanced, although I don't think it's in the regulator's best interests to be too agressive, and am therefore more inclined to take a positive view. It's a personal opinion, and could prove to eb wrong. As ever, time will tell. | alan@bj
26/4/2008 11:23 | 40 days to the Full year results. z | zeppo
25/4/2008 10:10 | Praipus .... It's on a PE of about 16 and yields about 3.5%. It can gradually improve the bottom line by grinding out savings but nothing spectacular is going to occur. On the plus slide you have the chance of a bid, on the minus side the ever present threat of the regulator. Therefore I am neutral at this price. | james93
25/4/2008 10:00 | James93 how do you measure the potential for upside? Tobin Q, PE, Market-to-book etc? | praipus
25/4/2008 09:42 | I don't think they're particularly cheap or dear at this price (338p) and that's why I'm staying out.I think it's a good company and at £3.00 I would buy. If you're in from lower levels I certainly wouldn't sell but without a bid I can't honestly see too much upside from here. alan@bj ... I can confirm I am from this planet. | james93
24/4/2008 17:38 | Staying over 3.30. Bigger water companies also firmer today. James93, It's time to dip your toe in the water. Splash out! Or you might miss the boat. z | zeppo
23/4/2008 15:27 | James93 - so your premise is that if the share price can't hold above 330p then it's going down by a further 10% to 300p? Are you really of this planet or do you inhabit some parallel universe? You're going to grow very old waiting for 300p. | alan@bj
22/4/2008 18:20 | Results on 4th June 2008. 43 days to wait. z | zeppo
22/4/2008 17:09 | Tobin Q is .48 and enterprise or takeover value is £8 so if your shorting hoping to cover at £3 your mad IMHO. | praipus
22/4/2008 16:44 | I'm just wanting to buy in at £3. | james93
22/4/2008 15:46 | James93 Still hasn't bust £3.20, has it? If it stays above £3.10 up to the full year figures - then I can not see it going down. But then I am hoping for the takeover or good continuing divi increases. z | zeppo |
