28/2/2024 07:45 | Bloomberg: NatWest Stock Sale Prep Moves Ahead as Government Taps Brokers UK has asked brokers to sign non-disclosure agreements Share offer would further reduce state’s holding in the bank The UK has opened talks with brokers including Hargreaves Lansdown Plc and AJ Bell Plc about helping to sell the state’s shares in NatWest Group Plc to retail investors. The government has asked firms to sign non-disclosure agreements and the talks are in their early stages, according to people familiar with the matter, who are not authorized to speak publicly. The retail sale, which Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt announced last year, is expected to be confirmed ......all that's available | polar fox

26/2/2024 16:46 | If sell 10% of the co. = ~£2bn If 5m ppl take part, equally, that is just £400/person. ----- If HMG sell 20% of the co. shares that is ~£4bn. If 5m ppl take part, equally, that is £800/person. ----- Let us say the placing takes place at 220p. Small discount to the mkt price of 230p. ----- A) If one already holds say £5k & the share price rises 10% due to HMG moving from being the controlling shareholder to being a non-controlling shareholder,. 230p to 252p. The gain is £500. A return of 10%. B) While the gain on buying £800 of shares in the placing is ((252-220)/220p)X £800 =£116. A return of 14.5%. ----- Conclusion These 2 calculations with assumptions show that owning £5k of shares gives the higher total return. While just taking part in the placing gives the higher % return....but !!! producing a small amount of money that for many PIs is not worth the effort of filling in the forms ! (If one has to fill in paper forms rather than just click on a box at one's broker's website). | smithie6

26/2/2024 11:45 | Another TR-1, this time after just a week. I think we've all seen the impact their selling is having as HMT takes advantage of rises in the share price from time to time. I don't really understand why folk are buying NWG - up to 232.60 this morning - when a discounted Retail Offer may well be announced next week. It takes all sorts.... Quote The percentage of voting rights held by HMT in NatWest Group plc (NWG), as shown on this form (32.88%), has been calculated following the disposal by HMT of 59,768,086 ordinary shares in NWG since its last TR-1 notification on 19 February 2024. unquote | polar fox

23/2/2024 11:45 | Need to punch through that 200 day average. Last time there was a directed buy back it was May last year. Assuming the government want value I'm hoping we see price appreciation from here. | smurfy2001

22/2/2024 17:50 | Interesting day - LLOY had an excellent day, rising over 6% on the back of its "robust" Results, but NWG sold off in its closing auction by 1.7p, which is a pretty sharp move for their auction. Maybe Hunt continues to twist HMT's arm, with the Budget so close ?? | polar fox

21/2/2024 21:22 | LLOYDS results tomorrow morning. Final of 1.84 expected, twice the interim, for a total of 2.76, plus another buyback of £2bn, as last year, perhaps a little more. | polar fox
21/2/2024 19:51 | Real value here. Already one of my best performersI've no doubt it's been manipulated and held back so as to be able to tempt Sid. and NatWest Group's NWG guidance for 2024 is below consensus and "highly conservative," given markets' current rate cut pricing for the UK, Berenberg analysts said Monday. The British lender expects income, excluding notable items, to reach 13 billion pounds sterling to 13.5 billion pounds in 2024. The group's forecast reflects a Bank of England interest rate of 400 basis points by end-2024, lower than market estimates by 40 bps. Based on market-implied interest rate projections, Natwest's revenue outlook could increase by an additional 400 million pounds. Berenberg estimates 13.8 billion pounds. As the BoE begins cutting rates, analysts expect NatWest Group's net interest income to stabilize and increase by mid-2024, supported by the company's reinvestment of hedge assets. Berenberg believes that the company will be able to offset the negative impact of lower interest rates through higher margins on new mortgage lending and modest loan growth. Berenberg reiterated its buy rating on the stock. | kiwi2007
