10/7/2017 13:11 | Aleman - Agree it's difficult to know what you're eating with meat, my wife has been vegetarian for 30 years and last week I took the plunge too and certainly don't feel any worse for it. | spittingbarrel
10/7/2017 11:29 | Added a few more NG. partly to tidy up the holding after the recent consolidation but also to take advantage of the recent dip. | mrphil
10/7/2017 10:48 | Gone, at least the SIPP is now positive on the day without them! | mrphil
10/7/2017 10:44 | Tempted to dump CLLN and move on. Leaving it in the portfolio will only serve as a reminder! | mrphil
10/7/2017 10:37 | Local US business taxes indicate recession. | aleman
10/7/2017 09:36 | CLLN down more than I expected. My commiserations to holders. I am starting to wonder if we are having a rolling recession where, over a period of a few years, various sectors go through recession at different times. We've had energy, mining, food and clothing. Currently various other consumer sectors are having a hard time yet the likes of housebuilders and tech are doing well. I've read the last rolling recession was in 1960. I might do some more research. | aleman
10/7/2017 08:46 | Morning All. Well thank goodness CLLN is only one of my smaller holdings, at least it is now! Must admit like you wllm I didn't see the downside being quite as severe as this, and guess I'll have to just hang on in there for now. Glad the original weather forecast was wrong for yesterday, we managed a lovely day out on the boat in around 28°C and wall to wall sunshine with a gentle breeze. | mrphil
10/7/2017 08:29 | Re:CLLN Never saw a 40% drop in the share price coming, I'm pretty much stuck with them for now but, all profits for this year more than wiped out :( wllm | wllmherk
10/7/2017 08:07 | Good Morning. Sorry for those with CLLN - I had a S/B @£10 a point - I was 6 points up, but now down 68 points. I freed a Jersey Tiger moth from a spiders web yesterday - the first one I've seen. | skinny
10/7/2017 08:01 | Huge fall in Tesla HK sales when subsidy reduced - spot the typo: Will Sears suvive? | aleman
10/7/2017 07:36 | Disappointed with CLLN but not altogether surprised. The share price always leads the news and the direction gave strong hints that the dividend would be axed. I am not sure what the market will make of this and I need to think about what to do with my holding. | hyden
09/7/2017 19:20 | +0.16% on Friday, ICP was an easy best value riser and VED the worst value faller. I am starting to recover June's losses and am currently +1.66% month to date. YTD is a very respectable +11.08%. Lot's of miles cycled over the weekend and my total for the month is now just over 200 so I am ahead of target. I remain hopeful that my shares will keep pace with my mileage, although they are lagging a bit now. ;-) | hyden
09/7/2017 07:52 | Had a good first 6 months of the year, but since start of June I'm down -3.40%, this past week down -0.66%, 2 stocks have done the damage really, BT.A, my biggest holding and CLLN. Will await outcome of CLLN trading update on Tuesday, may decide to cut my losses if really negative. wllm | wllmherk
08/7/2017 12:22 | Bankruptcy cycle has turned up in the US | aleman
08/7/2017 07:38 | Good Morning. My SIPP finished up 0.19%, +0.07% on the week and is +8.52% YTD. I suppose we should be grateful for the Sunny weather, but I could do with some respite from watering the garden and 2 allotments - albeit the latter is shared. Youngest granddaughter's birthday BBQ on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend. | skinny
08/7/2017 06:37 | Checking in from a very wet Oslo. Due to rain all day although the rest of the trip weather looks OK. Forgot to check Lions schedule before booking and seems to be no way of watching here. Grrr. Positive start to the month with +2.4% for week taking me to +10.4% YTD. Viling ship museum this afternoon. Enjoy better weather in UK! | shadowside
07/7/2017 17:47 | I'm up +0.279% on teh day today (FTSE100 +0.16%), up +0.40% on teh week (FTSE100 +0.52%) and up +3.80% YTD (FTSE100 +2.91% and HIX +0.89%). Best rises: SSE +1.45%, MKS +1.23% and ULVR +1.22%. Worst falls: KGF -1.55%, TW. -1.16% and PSON -0.80%. Not much logic to the market. Back to the cricket. Enjoy the weekend, DF | deanforester
07/7/2017 17:29 | Guessed 3/7 for the quiz. +0.35% for the Folio today. [FTSE250 +0.02%]. Highest value risers : ALT +14%, IGR +1.7%, CLIG +2%, LLPC +1.5%. Worst value fallers : PFC -3.4%, RMG -3.4%, IRV -2.5%. The week looks like finishing +0.79%, better than expected though not much headway made so far for the 2 Folio funds: Woodford & FundSmith. YTD + 10.3%. Broker UBS downgrade hit RMG, as highest FTSE100 faller, likely facing relegation from this index. Ground drenching thunderstorm yesterday evening, looking at the radar it came from nowhere just developing overhead. Have a cooler w/e. | blueliner
07/7/2017 17:18 | +0.7%. YTD -7.4% (so yesterday was a new low for 2017). CNCT tried very hard to close down again but perked up right at the end. The share price activity there has been a bit more erratic than normal in the last two days (besides the general down trend of late). What does it mean? I'm getting tempted to buy some more at this price. Bright morning but the cloud turned thick and grey in the afternoon. Humid throughout. 25.1C after 14.2C overnight. They keep talking about "the UK" being hot. This morning the BBC told us to drink plenty of fluids in this hot weather. "The UK" has actually been cool so far in July. The hot weather has only applied south of a line from Somerset to the Wash. In Cornwall, Wales and above that line in England - i.e. 2/3rds of the UK - July has actually been cool, especially in Scotland and N. Ireland which are running about 1C down on their averages. This is Leeming (Yorkshire) hour by hour in recent days: Have a good weekend and enjoy the cooler weather we've already been having north of Watford! | aleman
07/7/2017 17:06 | Funny old week for my lot with the SIPP losing a bit -0.36% dropping the YTD to +2.07% but the pot managed +0.95% on the week and is now +8.62% and the Virgin ISA added the grand total of 81p on the week so is unchanged YTD. Might stay on board tonight. Was going to do a bit of maintenance on it tomorrow morning but I'm thinking we should enjoy the weather instead and pay someone to do the work! Back for a BBQ at eldest son's house in the afternoon to celebrate grandsons Birthday. Enjoy your weekends. MrP | mrphil
07/7/2017 16:28 | 1/7 for me. Too much crickwet, not enough news. | deanforester
07/7/2017 14:06 | UK construction output down M-o-M and Y-o-Y in May So we had a very positive Construction PMI for May (56.0) but a recessionary number from ONS construction output Hhhmmm ... | aleman
07/7/2017 13:32 | USD Non-Farm Employment Change 222K 175K 138K | skinny |
