-0.6% for me but I did have a decent ex-dividend.

23.2C. Spotted quite a bit but no rain to speak of. Had to water the plants again. Sun came out mid-afternoon but only warmed things a bit as it battled a streengthening easterly breeze. That is making the current 17C feel surprisingly chilly.

Stick that old mower on ebay, no reserve, buyer collects. If it is petrol you will get something for it, and they will take it away complete with fluids.

Suggest you leave this awhile, since you do not want some person breaking out the true identity of DF, do you?

Just turned the air conditioning off in the office, must be getting cooler outside!

Started cutting the grass, got the front lawn done and started on the bac k, then the heavens opened. Quite a bit of thunder around, and two short-lived heavy showers. Maybe I will get the rest of the grass done after lunch. Then I have to get the fluids out of the old mower and take it to the dump.

My SIPP finished sown 0.32% yesterday and is down with the market today.

My only real blue today is WJG, which has hit a new high and breached £2 for the first time.

We're off to Hastings shortly until tomorrow evening, so enjoy your weekend!

Same here wllm, not helping that I am heavy in banking, oil & utilities but also have CLLN & PETS thrown in for good measure! It's actually the managed funds supporting me at the moment.

Shadowside, I'm still on the I-Pace list but I think it's going to be difficult to justify the cost when compared to the E-Pace! I might even bottle it totally and keep the XF a bit longer, especially if the SIPP carries on like this!

Just to highlight what I said about our garden getting temperatures 1-2C above surrounding areas when sunny, the highest temperature recorded yesterday in Yorkshire and Humberside for the Met Office was 27.3C, in Sheffield, versus our 28.3C. Bridlington (seaside) only reached 17.1C. So, more typical Yorkshire temperatures were hot but unexceptional, at around 25-26C yesterday.

We had a yellow rain warning but it did not rain last night. It looks like I might even have to water the plants again, today. We are still in a yellow warning for the next few hours but I see no rain on the radar.

I've noticed a good scattering of brown leaves on the lawn, this morning. That seems a few weeks early. I wonder what Bill Foggit would have made of that. We haven't even picked our first strawberries or tomatoes yet.

E-Pace looks an interesting prospect when XF is finally put out to grass. Starting price looks tempting although I imagine when you spec to a reasonable level with Auto, Satnav etc you will get into the mid to high 30's. A big price differential to the Ateca which would do the same job and be cheaper to run.

Aleman,Illinois data is frightening. Some of the US States within the US currency zone are not that dissimilar to Greece within the Eurozone. Looks as if Illinois is not the worst.

Morning All.

"Only" managed 30.7°C yesterday with a low last night of 17.7°C. We kept the portable air conditioner on for longer last night and fell asleep with it on. Woke a couple of hours later to turn it off and then of course couldn't get back to sleep! And I have a late one tonight with the business dinner in London!

They had all the blinds down on the chiller cabinets in SBRY last night due to the hot weather, making it pretty difficult to find what you wanted. But we managed to spend enough to use the voucher, and a few bargains included (you'll be pleased to know freddie!).

Hyden, we love the Lake District and try to get up there at some point most years, might try for October half term again this year.

Go Ahead's full year passenger and revenue numbers guidances have been tweaked down very slighty. This means Q4 must have been a little worse than the rest of the year which was itself a marked slowdon on last year. So, is the UK continuing to slow after reporting only 0.2% growth in Q1?

This is at the same time that the US federal government is only meeting payments from week to week through contingency measures. It can't last much longer.
