I've closed. With regret. I'll explain.

I have too many Brexit stocks. It's been worrying me for weeks but kind of hit a plateau last night. If it's sucessfully sorted I will make enough to significantly change my retirement. If it falls apart it's not that I would have to go back to work but things would be tighter than I would like.

Too many eggs in one basket and not enough diversification if you like. I'm happy to put my put my balls on the line and take a position I believe in but there's a point where the risk is just too great no matter how much I believe in a trade.

NRR like my other Brexit stocks have had a good run the last 10 days or so, so I've cashed this in.

I honestly think the balance of probabilty is Brexit will get sorted and therefore selling NRR is the wrong thing to do but I've decided to de-risk a little.

NRR has been a decent trade for me. GLA.

Investors will receive the NEXT dividend if they held NRR yesterday and earlier.

The dividend after that is early next year. Any investor holding NRR (or any share) the day before ex dividend date gets that dividend.

So investors could buy a share the day before it goes ex dividend and then sell the next day or very soon after. Doing that hat can pay off if share is on a good run.

The NEXT dividend will be in January and the exact date has not yet been announced.

cc2014... thanks... But I am talking about the NEXT dividend... Do you need to be on the recrd date of 18 October for the next dividend as it says on the website - or am I reading it all wrong?

Davvero. If you held NRR overnight on Wednesday 16th then you are entitled to the dividend. Every dividend on every stock is done the same way on a Wednesday.

(note -the only exceptions is that sometimes companies who do a dividend which is not part of the usual annaul, half annual, monthly or whatever may do a different. It's extermely rare - perhaps less than 5 occasions a year and you would likely know about as there would be somethign unusual going on)

CC, not a small dividend, either. It would have maintained yesterday’s price from the get go had the early Brexit news not been negative (DUP wanting more - when didn’t they?)

This is still at virtually covered 10% yield. Tempting to sell some, but I’ll take the dog for his second walk instead.

NRR now back to yesterday so that's the dividend for free.

Nothing special though. Moving in line with the market. BLND up 1.4%, HMSO up 1.0%, INTU up 2.3%

I have INTU regrettably and from a price which hurts, since my lowest trade begins with a 1 and not a 5,6,7,8 or 9. Until the retail space filled with "old" busineses like Jessops has gone, INTU is going to really struggle. I believe we are now getting to that point and of course the market looks ahead but I'm not particuarly hopeful. I live in hope John Whittacker will launch another take-over bid and put me out of my miseary on INTU.

Holding well, considering. Still fancy 220's before long, soon if the Brexit deal passes.

Interesting action at CAL today, someone willing to put money where their mouth is for control of the co. CAL & INTU the worst of the junk IMO.

Jessops to go into administration for the second time ? Or liquidation this time.
BBC reporting that it is just too hard to make a profit in retail.

lol. I'm with Chucko on this one.

I sold a quarter of my holding at 209 a couple of days ago. If it goes to 225 this afternoon I'll sell another quarter. If it goes to 275 by the end of this month I'll sell the lot. If it goes back to 180 I'll buy some more.

If it takes 6 months to get to 225 I'll take a look at the state of the retail market, the overall economic picture and then take a view.

I will adjust my targets as I go along and more information comes on the market.

I think the opportunties from Woodford are over now. Everyone knows what he's got left and the liquid FTSE100&250 stuff we are all most interested in will come on the market gradually. Sure we may find an opportunity but it won't be taking candy from a baby like NRR last time.

Further most of NW liquid stocks are Brexit senstive and therefore there's a market to sell into right now, so it's possible to shift volume at a respectable price.

Oh ffs. If you're a long term investor, this is all irrelevant. Grow some. Or manage your risk better.

Hopefully Black Rock will find an Institutional Investor to take the Woody stake and won't trouble the market or the likes of you and me with more drip, drip, drip.

It seems more likely than not (to me at least) that the huge fall was mainly Woody-inspired. However, some holders freaked and mistook it for more fundamental reasons and sold to mitigate the pain they were feeling. Some commentators saw the fall as confirmation of retail being a terrible place to be (lazy thinking - details are important, so long as they are pertinent details) and wrote as much, hence adding additional energy to the price vortex.

In the end, income against losses will prevail. The income is currently huge, the losses being mild, although some anticipate larger ones to come. In that respect, it largely comes down to management - can they avoid the larger losses? At 11% yield, management would have to be fairly poor, or to have poorly invested over the past 5 years, to see a permanent fall in the value of NRR equity.

Likely with more NRR to be sold by Blackrock (if I am right in thinking they are now in charge of the IFF portfolio), further selling pressure. But we have now all seen the effect of selling a huge amount, with the rebound thereafter. Brexit apart, the next fall will be much less severe as the fear is now pretty well bounded.

The wise, of course, do little and hold irrespective, perhaps trading a few for fun. Takes the 11% yield to 12 or 13% if done moderately well! Were getting to the point where a year pas passed, 9% yield has been earned and life goes on much as it always has. And a lot of needless pain suffered by the overactive.

As the Art of Noice once said "Relax, you're quite safe here). ["quite" can be read in two different ways here, but likely AON were not thinking of NRR back in the day].

NW went from 11.84% to less than 5% on 10th July. I don't think we've heard anything since then, not that Woodford would be obliged to inform the market further.

Happy to be corected but I don't think NW has any shares left in NRR. Didn't he dump them all about 8-10 weeks ago?
