06/3/2024 10:02 | Well done to Dab for that nice, juicy comparison, which is certainly something to get your teeth into:- "Apple’s Services Push Pays Off R. Scott Raynovich Contributor R. Scott Raynovich is the Founder and Chief Analyst at Futuriom.com Jan 28, 2021, 12:25pm EST Apple, the largest tech company in the world, just released results for its first fiscal quarter of 2021, ending on December 26, 2020. The company posted net income of $29 billion on an all-time record revenue of $111.4 billion. That amounts quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.68, up 35 percent year over year. (y/y). Not bad, for a phone company. But what's more interesting from an investor standpoint is that services revenue came in at $16 billion, also a record high and up 24 percent from the $12.7 billion in the same period last year. This is a higher growth rate than the company’s overall y/y revenue increase of 21%. This shows that Apple's tenacious, multi-year push into cloud services has been paying dividends, which has been exciting investors. iPhones are nice — but the holy grail these days is cloud services, an area in which Apple has been frustrated in the past with less-than-stellar returns in projects such as iTunes. Apple has re-tooled its approach to cloud services and the strategy appears to be working. Investors care about Apple's services growth because it means the company is becoming more diversified into services in Wall Street's view, allowing it to trade at a higher multiple of profits and sales. Services and software companies generally have higher valuation multiples than hardware companies. In the business, they call this a "re-rating." Product Integration Drives Growth The truth is, Apple has always been a software company disguised as a hardware company. Its well-designed software is what draws billions of consumers to its products. And Apple’s tight vertical integration of its software and hardware products is what makes it unique. The theme of integration is now moving into services. Investors are hoping for even more of a re-rating, and a higher valuation, if Apple can show it is penetrating into the lucrative market for cloud services. That means recurring monthly revenue — currently the apple of investors’ eyes (pun intended). The record revenue in the services division shows that Apple's investment in consumer cloud services including media, apps, and storage has been working. ..." | hedgehog 100
05/3/2024 10:43 | Hardware-enabled SaaS (HeSaaS) should become, in my opinion, become one of the 'gold standards' of tech investments. Its merits are not yet fully-widely appreciated in the general investment community, but the 'cognoscenti' already do, and have been investing accordingly. Pure play SaaS investments seem to be more erratic: the results can be anywhere from very good to disastrous. RDT (Rosslyn Data Technologies - which profit-warned y And my gut feeling is that the 'golden era' of pure play SaaS investments is now over. But how to play this emerging HeSaaS zeitgeist? Well, I know of no better HeSaaS play than NWT. It's only relatively recently that NWT has evolved into such an exciting HeSaaS opportunity, and its rerating upwards is still relatively early stage, so there's still an opportunity to invest here 'before the train leaves the station'. It is quite simply an outstanding investment opportunity, of the type that very rarely present themselves. A £100M. market cap. within a few years looks more than achievable, which would equate to a good ten-bagger from 90p, even with say 15% dilution. So this share should certainly provide a very nice pension for many people. | hedgehog 100
05/3/2024 10:01 | Hardware-enabled SaaS (HeSaaS) can therefore be a real key to greater efficiency and effectiveness: for the users, and ergo for the wider economy. And in addition, HeSaaS can also often be a better business model for the provider than 'pure play' SaaS; this article explains why:- "Hardware Enabled SaaS : Next generation of SaaS companies Kumar Sparsh · Follow Published in Unicornindia · 3 min read · Sep 23, 2019 ... This is why we believe that Hardware enabled SaaS (HeSaaS), a model where hardware is an integral part of the SaaS offering, can be a logical evolution of the pure play SaaS model for many industries and use cases. HeSaaS manages to circumvent or minimize many challenges faced by SaaS startups. The hardware element acts as an anchor, helping in reducing customer churn by reducing the possibility of customers migrating away to a marginally cheaper or marginally better SaaS. HeSaaS startups doing outright hardware sales are further able to magnify the Lock In Effect. Talent to work on specialized hardware design is also tougher to find, which along with defensible IPs makes it tougher to directly copy the product and greatly reduces commodification risk. HeSaaS model also opens up new or untapped niche markets that couldn’t have been effectively served by a SaaS only model. Hence there has been a lot of interest in this space in recent years. ..." | hedgehog 100
04/3/2024 10:02 | A useful recent article on biometric access control trends for this year, which highlights the strong growth opportunity here. 03/3/2024 13:41 | Here is the start of Hedgehog's post 400 "Happy leap day 2024 to everyone! Though please be careful when leaping:- "Pair fined after 11 customers broke backs at Flip Out trampoline park Published 1 day ago" So perhaps do it with a net; or maybe even 'via net'. And on that note, here's another comparable share to NWT that has been 'leaping forwards' recently:- 12/12/2023 07:00 UK Regulatory (RNS & others) Vianet Group PLC Half-year Report LSE:VNET Vianet Group Plc .....blah blah & blah....." ----- The text shows/proves that Hedgehog is well, nuts ! | smithie6
03/3/2024 13:27 | Quite funny that you can write the text in post 400 (which arguably infers that you are a bit mad) & then try to say it is me that is mad. And to use a variety of swear words in your last post. The mental level of the author of post 400 (Hedgehog) can be seen by people just by reading it, msg board users can then make up their own minds. ----- At least 2 other posters have criticised Hedgehog's repeated ramping posts & for posting which are super long. But of course Hedgehog takes no notice. How many people every reply to Hedgehog's posts or enter in to a discussion with him about points made in his posts ? No one ! No one at all, ever ! & yet he keeps posting page long ramping posts, sometimes 3/day, & then the day after, & the day after that. imo no one reads them, no one ! (The style from NWT is perhaps similar, never ending ramping. In one post I highlighted the ramping text from the company from 2013 ! ...ok, ramping from a company on its website has to be expected, many companies will claim their products are fantastic & that people should buy them straight away.....but PIs know to largely ignore company ramping since usually it meaningless. But Hedgehog believes every single word ! & then repeats it endlessly on advfn. | smithie6

Seriously though, this thick, demented c--t has clearly got some sort of serious psychological problem. My advice to all sensible readers is just to filter this moronic cretin: the thread is a much nicer and more intelligent read as a result. And judging from the collapse in the MFX (Manx Financial) share price this week, his trolling here may be putting people off that company. | hedgehog 100

26/2/2024 21:28 | One of MFX & NWT had to go thru the saga of changing the old shares to be 9 deferred shares & 1 normal share, with 50 'normal' shares then converting to be one new share. It is an embarrassment for a company to do this because it is a major recognition that the company has performed badly. Was it MFX or NWT ? (I'll give you a hint, it wasn't MFX !) | smithie6
26/2/2024 20:50 | Hedgehog I'm ahead with my investment in MFX. ;-) And in recent months the price to sell has risen from 15.0p to 18.0p. +3p. 20%. Not too bad. I was buying below 16p. Results expected in late March. The CEO invested £98k in shares in Dec. '23, exercising options at 14p. Hopefully a good signal. If you look at the reported profit numbers you will see that it has done very well over recent years. And the size of the loan book & income has a clear up trend over the last 15 years. That equals growth. Every year the company gets bigger. Investors love growth. :-) Jim Mellon's track record, it probably is mixed. But that is probably also the case for other directors/chairmen, they don't win 'em all. Jim's only on about £50k/year as exec chairman so he is not taking much out of the company. And love him or loath he is highly regarded imo for his knowledge/skill in financial markets & foreseeing what might happen with markets/currencies/e | smithie6
26/2/2024 20:28 | Hedgehog Here is proof that NWT has been ramping it's technology for at least 10 years. And despite claiming repeatedly that it is about to take over the world & Nasdaq, it hasn't actually happened. Don't believe every claim you read. ----- Here is just one example. From RNS on 2/8/2013. "The next generation and recently launched SATEON software is a brand new and innovative access control concept which for the first time ever, even though it is 100% browser based, is truly without compromise in function, style, or performance. Grosvenor Technology clients include BAE Systems, UK Air Traffic Control, BSkyB, Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, M & S, Morrisons, Tesco, Network Rail, government departments and many universities." .....yawnnnnn | smithie6

Making three posts within just four minutes tells you all you need to know about their quality. He's been bashing NWT from 59p in December last year, starting in post 249 above: And he's even losing on his MFX-NWT contest, despite his choosing the starting date (i.e. 21.1.24): NWT then was 84p, so is up a penny; whereas MFX then was 19p, so has fallen three quarters of a penny; whereas he was ludicrously declaring in late January that MFX had already won! (He set an end of June contest end date.) So understandably he's smarting badly, LOL! Also, his long term ADVFN posting history on MFX is interesting. And note that MFX is down by over three quarters since it started trading on AIM in January 2008. Manx Financial (MFX):- And that current MFX chairman Jim Mellon has been on the MFX board since its floatation & earlier. And that JM has also had 2 other recent share price disasters that I'm aware of: SEED & BHL. I.e. he's someone whose recent form doesn't look good. And multiple SEED shareholders on b.b.s have claimed to have been misled badly. | hedgehog 100
