-- EBITDA of GBP1.5m (2022: GBP0.03m loss)

-- Operating profit of GBP0.3m (2022: GBP1.1m loss)

-- Profit after tax of GBP0.4m (2022: GBP0.8m loss)

-- Earnings per share of 3.77p (2022: 0.32p loss per share)

Business highlights:

-- FY23 year-on-year revenue growth, driven by a strong performance in the Group's People, Data Management, and Physical Security divisions

-- Product innovation and efficient software systems have enhanced solutions offering, resulting in new client contracts.

-- 8th consecutive year of HCM revenue growth due to increases in both North American and European markets.

-- Launched our next generation secure cloud control platform GT Connect, which will drive future recurring revenue growth.

-- Relocated Grosvenor's US headquarters to a much larger facility in Florida and brought third-party logistics in-house.

-- Physical Security division returned to revenue growth in FY23 due to an increase in service revenues and strong demand for our security-rated screens and counters in both the retail and public sectors.

-- Group returned to profitability and cash flow generation in FY23.

*ARR is calculated by annualising revenue recognised in a given month from all clients on deployed HCM subscription contracts

Maurice Dwek, Chairman of Newmark, commented:

"It has been a milestone year in several ways, culminating in the Group returning to full-year profitability. What might look like modest overall top line growth hides the key story underneath, which is the launch of our strategic cloud platform, GT Connect. This is vastly more scaleable as a service offering and is accelerating GT's shift from being a 'hardware only' to a 'hardware-enabled software and services' business. This, combined with the return to growth in Safetell, shows the success of our 2025 Growth Strategy.

"Looking ahead, the business has made a good start to FY24 with its new revenue pipeline." ..."

Well done to NWT on returning to full-year profitability, and for announcing the results nearly four months earlier than last year's (23.1.23).

The second half clearly wasn't as strong as H1, but that looks to me like just a blip, which is not uncommon with the best growth stories.

For example, a move to new, larger premises can be costly and time-consuming, before the benefits really start to accrue.

And the gradual decline in the business for UKG, following its creation through the $22 billion merger of Kronos and Ultimate Software in 2020, now looks to be over.

So the great growth story here looks to be very much intact, and the year ending 30.4.24 is looking like it will be a strong one.

Some more great new stuff from Safetell's website: a brace of articles showcasing the company's exceptional talent and culture:-

"Craig Chappell: From RAF to Senior Service Technician at Safetell

22 August, 2023

At Safetell, our commitment to cultivating a diverse and highly skilled workforce is exemplified through the experiences of our employees. Particularly, the stories of two individuals who transitioned from military service and made a significant impact within our organisation — Craig Chappell and Simon Dhinsa, both distinguished veterans — highlight how their distinct skill sets, refined during years of military training, align seamlessly with the values of Safetell. In the upcoming section, we will delve into Craig’s journey from the RAF to Safetell.

RAF Experience: A strong foundation

Craig Chappell’s career took off when he joined the RAF at a young age. He underwent 18 months of comprehensive basic and trade training, honing his skills in various aspects of electronic workshop practices, and obtaining an ONC, City and Guilds qualification. During his time with the RAF, Craig played a crucial role in supporting air systems and equipment during a 4-month tour in The Falklands in 1994. With 12 years of dedicated service, as an Air Radar Technician, under his belt, he eventually decided to take a new direction.

Transitioning out of the RAF into civilian work

Upon leaving the RAF, Craig faced the challenge of finding his way into the civilian job market. He briefly joined Yorkshire Cable, gaining valuable experience over three years before unfortunate redundancy. Undeterred, he entered the cable contracting field for a year, later moving to Marconi Telecoms to contribute to their BT Contract.

Transferring skills: RAF to Safetell

Craig joined Safetell in 2003 as a service technician. What started as a temporary stop-gap quickly evolved into a substantial role. Through hard work, dedication, and willingness to put in long hours, his efforts were recognised, resulting in well-deserved pay increases. Within just two years, he demonstrated his expertise and commitment, earning a promotion to Senior Technician, and he is still with the business today, 20 years later.

Craig’s background in the RAF brought a wealth of skills that seamlessly transitioned into his role at Safetell:

1. Technical Expertise: His experience with electronics in the RAF translated to working with Safetell’s systems, highlighting his adaptability and expertise.

2. Adaptation: Familiarity with hydraulics in the RAF allowed him to adapt to Safetell’s pneumatic screens, showcasing his ability to learn and apply new concepts.

3. Deadline-Oriented: Working under tight deadlines in different environments during his RAF tenure prepared him to excel in Safetell’s dynamic and time-sensitive projects.

4. Strong Work Ethic: Craig’s military background instilled a strong work ethic, contributing to his rapid rise to the position of Senior Tech.

5. Effective Communication: Skills gained from the military, such as time management, communication, and presentation, proved invaluable in his interactions with Safetell’s customers as a front-facing engineer.

In summary, Craig Chappell’s journey from an RAF Air Radar Technician to a Senior Technician at Safetell demonstrates the potential of transferable skills. His ability to leverage his military background and seamlessly apply it to a civilian role is a testament to his dedication, adaptability, and continuous pursuit of excellence.

"Transitioning from a Royal Air Force Radar Technician to a Senior Tech at Safetell has been quite a journey. With over a decade in the RAF, my experience seamlessly integrated into Safetell's world. Starting as a Service Tech in 2003, I didn't anticipate becoming a Senior Tech within two years. My military skills, like electronics and hydraulics, found a new purpose here. Safetell's commitment to recognising potential and embracing diverse expertise has made my career progression here incredibly fulfilling."

Craig Chappell, Senior Service Technician, Safetell

Here we explore how Simon’s military background has influenced his impactful role at Safetell."

"From Gunner to Team Lead: Simon Dhinsa’s Journey of Skill Transfer and Growth

23 August, 2023

Continuing from our recent blog post about Craig Chappell’s transition from the RAF to Safetell, we now explore how Simon Dhinsa’s military background has shaped his role at Safetell.

Simon’s journey is a testament to the power of adaptability and the seamless transition of skills from one realm to another, exemplifying dedication and growth.

Early military foundations

Enlisting in the Royal Air Force Regiment at 19, Simon embarked on a transformative journey. With 6 months of intensive basic training, he was deployed to 3 Squadron RAF Regiment. His career took a significant turn as he completed two operational tours in Afghanistan, serving in Kandahar and Bastion. Notably, he played an integral role in the Medical Emergency Response Team (M.E.R.T) and acquired proficiency in advanced first aid, weaponry, and driving.

Transitioning to civilian life

After six years of dedicated military service, Simon transitioned to civilian life. His initial step involved contributing to car gas strut production in a manufacturing capacity. Demonstrating strategic acumen, he leveraged his enhanced learning credits to reskill himself for the electrical industry.

A new chapter: joining Safetell

Simon’s journey continued at Safetell, where he began as a service technician, in 2015. Rapid advancement marked his trajectory as he progressed to the role of Senior Engineer and ultimately attained the position of Team Lead, in 2022. His growth was nurtured through job-specific training and ongoing learning opportunities.

Seamless skill migration

1. Calm amidst pressure: The crucible of high-pressure situations during his military service cultivated composure, enabling Simon to effectively address new and complex challenges.

2. Fostered work ethic: Simon’s military background instilled a robust work ethic that propelled his advancement within Safetell. This ethos played a pivotal role in his ascent to Senior Engineer and Team Lead positions.

3. Mastering time management, communication, and presentation: Skills honed in the military seamlessly translated into Simon’s role as a front-facing engineer, facilitating effective time management, communication, and presentation with Safetell’s clients.

4. Empowered by enhanced learning and adaptability: Simon’s strategic and forward-thinking approach to personal growth was evidenced by his use of enhanced learning credits earned during his military service, enabling a successful transition into the electrical industry, and his progression in his role at Safetell.

"I transitioned from an RAF Gunner to a Senior Engineer, and then Team Lead at Safetell. My diverse experience, including two tours with the Medical Emergency Response Team in Afghanistan, equipped me with skills in first aid, weapons, and driving. After civilian manufacturing and a shift to the electrical industry using enhanced learning credits, Safetell became my home in 2015.

My military-driven work ethic, composed approach under pressure, and adept communication and time management skills have thrived here. Safetell's embrace of unique journeys and talents makes it clear - it's not just about where you begin, but the dedication and skills you bring to the table."

Simon Dhinsa, Service Team Leader, Safetell

Simon’s experience highlights how being adaptable and actively striving for excellence can make a significant impact in various areas. His evolution from a Gunner to a Team Lead showcases the seamless transfer of skills, resilience, and the drive for growth — bridging the divide between military valour and civilian leadership.

If you’ve not already done so, take a look at how Craig Chappell’s experience and skillset in the RAF have also successfully impacted his role at Safetell.

Safetell are always interested in new talent

And a related new Safetell article, highlighting their expertise in providing certified security solutions:-

"Understanding Security Ratings: A Comprehensive Guide to Manual Attack, Intruder, and Burglar Ratings

18 August, 2023

When businesses invest in physical security products, including screens, doors, and cladding, they fully expect them to offer protection against manual attacks and burglaries as promised. However, that’s not always the case. According to the Building Research Establishment (BRE), 95% of products do not deliver the performance expected by manufacturers during testing.

To ensure that businesses receive the protection they expect from these products, the BRE oversees a set of internationally recognised loss prevention standards known as the LPS 1175. In Europe, the EN1627 standard specifies the requirements and classification systems for burglar-resistant characteristics of windows, walling, grilles, and door sets. ...

Finding Certified Products

When choosing security products for your premises, look for certified products that have undergone rigorous testing and meet stringent security standards. Certification means that physical security measures will perform as required, mitigating risks and providing peace of mind.

Safetell offers a number of certified products, including our Stalwart Steel Door (LPCB LPS1175 SR4 issue 8 rating for manual attack). We also offer several entrance control products with an RC4 rating, such as revolving doors, security pass doors, and security portals. Each of these products serves a unique purpose in providing the best level of security for entrance control.

Among them, security portals, with their RC4 rating, offer the highest level of manual attack protection. They can also be equipped with metal detectors and mask recognition to further control unauthorized access.

What Are GT Services?

GT Services provides priority end-to-end technical support, and access to our remote data and device management platform.

Ben Lagden
Commercial Director

In a nutshell, GT Services are the services we provide to enhance and complement our HCM solutions. It covers a host of aspects, including a lifetime warranty, access to Grosvenor Technology’s secure cloud platform and on-hand 24/7 tech support.

This subscription-based service means that for one low-cost monthly payment, your device or devices will be protected and supported for the duration of their lifetime. It’s a smart way to reduce your total cost of ownership while benefiting from priority support.

Here’s a little more about each aspect that makes up GT Services.

GT Protect

By subscribing to GT Services, you can take advantage of our exclusive hardware warranty. With this, we guarantee to supply you or your clients with a brand-new, latest-generation HCM solution if a fault or defect occurs with the existing device. Better still, we send the replacement device via next-day delivery directly to where it is needed so it can be installed as soon as possible.

GTProtect also entitles you (or your clients) to priority technical support on the devices – which come with guaranteed SLAs. Whether they require a little assistance when installing or replacing a device, need help troubleshooting, or want to access our remote diagnostic tools, our tech support team is just a quick call or email away.

GTConnect

GTConnect is a cloud-based platform that integrates your devices into a single network, allowing real-time remote diagnostics and data management. Signing up for GT Services grants you and your clients access to GTConnect and the following powerful features:

Device Management

Our management platform allows you to diagnose, recover and update devices remotely. This feature manages devices individually or multiple devices organised by your chosen structure to push out updates and configuration, all at the click of a button.

Data Management

Our “Clock to Cloud” middleware makes it easy to integrate our devices with your chosen software. Subsequently, all data captured to and from the devices is securely transferred and transformed via a single connection, ensuring a seamless system enabling real-time business decisions as and when you need them.

Identity Management

Our platform, combined with our latest devices, ensures all Personally Identifiable Information (PII), including biometric data, is encrypted and protected from the moment it’s collected. GTConnect further ensures compliance with all UK GDPR data regulations and US and international data legislation by recording consent of PII collection and providing tools to both facilitate information requests and erase PII, effectively de-risking your business from fines and litigation.

What are the benefits of GT Services?

Lower Costs

GT Services will decrease the total cost of ownership of your devices. Here’s how;

• Hardware Costs

First and foremost, our devices are specifically designed for high footfall, always-on environments with longevity and reliability in mind. As a result, they’ll give you much greater reliability and life span than other devices or tablets. Plus, each device is covered by GTProtect’s subscription warranty – guaranteeing your future costs.

• Admin and Legal Costs

GTConnect, in combination with our latest devices, ensures your client is fully compliant with data protection laws worldwide by encrypting data and enforcing processes surrounding consent, storage and deletion. Not only does this considerably lower the time and effort needed to ensure their own compliance when handling PII, but more importantly, it reduces the chances of breaking the law and incurring related fines or compensation and associated reputational damage.

• Development and Operational Costs

Our fast and simple integration approach allows your clients to save on the development costs of connecting their devices to their platform. As GTConnect manages the individual connections to the devices and provides data transfer via a single connection, hosting and operational costs are significantly reduced.

Minimal Downtime

With our experienced support team on hand and the option for next-day hardware delivery, there is limited downtime and disruption to your clients should a device malfunction.

Increased Efficiency

Managing your estate globally via GTConnect ensures configuration and updates are efficiently applied, reducing onsite engineering and support visits and associated costs.

If you and your clients would benefit from priority support, guaranteed replacement hardware and super secure data, speak to us about GT Services. It’s the most effective way to reduce your costs, increase efficiency and minimise downtime.
