FWIW. The front line is probably told nothing other than, you can't discuss the business with callers. I would say that many staff in most companies are never trained in this respect and probably don't even understand the significance of a shareholder.

LOL Fair sounds to me like they may have some news and are worried it might slip out hence the sudden concern about an enquiry? Don't forget we are dealing with a pharmaceutical company, they have no idea how to run the PR side of things. Mind you if they employed a PI/PR person we might complain it's a waste of money LOL

thanks

Generally that is what I do, buy on extreme weakness or pullback and then sell down some of the holding when I feel the time is right or if I get a little nervous... (not always judging it too well) then hold onto free carry for a bigger rise.

Ha Lombiff - not so much a whipper snapper any more...

Yes you guys are right this is not 'delayed' I came across a little too negative there. But felt it was right to reduce a little into strength.

============================================

Haven't you been in for months ? Surely the strength was end of August ? I am a little confused .. you hold for months and then sell when we are but a couple of months max away from a large rerating IMHO

You were reducing I was adding ... I guess we shall see which method turns out to be the correct one. Anything can happen so I am not thinking it is mine until what i hope happens actually happens.

Ha that's the funny part...

I wanted to discuss with them the need to increase the number of market makers. Instead before I had said a word I was interrogated about how I got the number and then told they couldn't say anything that wasnt in the public domain.

I copngratulated them on the worst handling of an IR enquiry I had ever seen in 20 years and suggested they ought to listen to the enquiries before throttling people on the phone. We did not get on.. But I reminded them that the call, as with many others, was not not driven to secure a snippet of 'extra, rns type information on the quiet, but to discuss a specific issue of investor concern.

Totally unimpressive, but there is no reason to believe they still wont make us millions..... just dont expect a warm and fuzzy feeling when you call.... thats if they still have an IR number on their website ha

Arc - they treated my enquiry very poorly, in fact i was the worst management of an IR enquiry I have ever come across. Didnt like it. Doesnt mean they are not going to make us all millions, after all to a certain extent we were able to buy in at 6p because of what happened earlier this year...!

Lots going on guys. They said some time ago they expected to announce the signing in the Autumn. Nothing has changed that. Personally, the results are academic, even the remaining cash won't be particularly relevant as the JV will fund everything going forward. Didn't see FD.s post. I assume he spoke to them and was upset at their response. FD, what did they say??

doh - I typed that last post so slowly, FD, that your previous post had disappeared by the time I finished!! This kind of thing happens a lot more frequently nowadays - us old f*rts can't keep up with you whipper-snappers!!

Fairdeal - fair enough - thanks for letting us know, and good luck with it. I know you have a lot of irons in the fire at present, some doing better than others, but I can't help thinking you may have reduced a little early here.

I tend to agree with ihnc. The next update is not "delayed" - they told us they expect a JV announcement in the Autumn (the Autumn equinox was yesterday so, by some measures, Autumn has only just started) and the results will be announced on Sept 30th (next week). NPL-2003 news was expected in H2 09 (we're not halfway through the second half yet).

The IR guys are one week away from results - they will have their hands full this week doing dry-runs and preparing briefings and Q&A papers for the directors ready for next week. You may have caught them at a bad time - it's no excuse for rudeness, I know, but it may explain their being abrupt.

It was you who pointed nph out to me, so I hope you don't miss out here (it sounds like you still have a decent holding, so hopefully you'll still enjoy the ride)- nph appeals to me on a risk/reward basis, as well as on an ethical one, so I won't be selling a single share until JV news or New Year (whichever comes first). I may consider buying even more depending on what they tell us next Wednesday.

Good luck with the others you've highlighted - I'm now nicely up on SHG (thanks) and expecting great things of HZM, and (perhaps more risky) NVR. For me, LND (which I don't think you have) and PGD are still my biggest long-term holdings, and I'm thinking about increasing my position in MST (can't remember if this was one of yours) as I think the swine flu story will power this forward. All the best - keep the "tips" coming

IHNC - I certainly hope I am completely wrong to be cautious... because I will do very nicely out of the holding.

That said I deleted the post above because it sounds like me whining a bit too much....

Fairdeal ... I feel you are completely wrong. We are not "due news" as you put it. The next news will be the results. Then between now and the end of the year JV and NPL 2003 news.

Nothing has changed.

I topped up as I would rather be in than out .. getting out now seems very fool hardy IMHO

They have nothing to add as they have put it all. NPL 2003 news before end of year, JV moving along - hopes to be signed by autumn (so could be 1 - 2 months to go) and results end of this month. What the hell else can they say ? No wonder they were short with you.

Quinan ... exactly ... the JV will put a solid base on the share price ... I still can't help thinking that it will involve shares at a MUCH higher premium than sub 50p

Seem to have 120p in mind but complete guesswork and mainly some wishful thinking too ?
