29/12/2008 07:59 | OK thanks he is ex investor chronicle. | ![]() restassured
29/12/2008 00:09 | try t1ps.com I am no advocate of them. Just a comment because sometimes they get it right. | ![]() aspex
28/12/2008 20:21 | who are t1ps? | ![]() restassured
28/12/2008 18:58 | Picked by t1ps as one of their 12 stocks for 2009. Kiss of death or greatness? | ![]() aspex
22/12/2008 14:49 | All quiet on the western front. Looking forward to next year where we will be back over 100p. | ![]() restassured
17/12/2008 16:45 | I would accept 73p now as that would give me just a little profit but free up cash for new year buys. | polythene
17/12/2008 16:01 | Good to see Standard Life now accumulating stock - holding up from 6% to 9%. Let battle commence! | ![]() philjeans
16/12/2008 10:34 | gaming stocks performing today due to partygamings announcement.... | ![]() targatarga
15/12/2008 16:31 | MMs desperately trying to suppress the s/p, so their client can pick up stock on the cheap. Worked well today - but price will inevitably rise as sellers cotton on. | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 16:28 | market has finally waken up 100p here we come | ![]() restassured
15/12/2008 16:26 | some decent volume going through late in the day, bodes well with the up tick. | ![]() kooba
15/12/2008 15:52 | phil, as deramping attempts go, "the bid premium may be as little as 30%" would not be all that great, wouldn't you say? Fully invested right now. Cash release from Fayrewood in late February (actually later than I realised) and I'm not tempted to throw away a certain 5% by selling now on the offchance this will fly in the meantime. As I said, there's no shortage of alternatives if it does. | ![]() stewjames
15/12/2008 15:47 | Keep it going Stew; you might just be able to get in for a half-penny cheaper! But you're pushing it if you wait for the New Year - sure to be tipped next week! | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 15:42 | "I can't see this lot selling out too cheaply, can you?" That really depends. For how many of them is their most recent move to sell? Also, they may have a different definition of "cheap" to you. Anyway, this is not an important argument. Somehow I can't see anybody being *that* upset with a bid 30% or more above the current shareprice succeeding. Disappointed, maybe, but there's not exactly a shortage of choices at the moment for the cash. | ![]() stewjames
15/12/2008 15:23 | NEOVIA Financial Plc currently has 119,920,953 shares in issue. The following interests in 3% or more of NEOVIA's existing ordinary share capital had been reported as of 5 December 2008: Shareholder Date of notification Number of Ordinary Shares % of issued share capital UBS AG 18-Jan-07 7,559,186 6.30 Standard Life Investments Limited 05-Dec-08 7,487,854 6.24 MF Global UK Limited 03-Dec-08 6,593,796 5.50 Fidelity (FMR Corp & Fidelity International Limited) 30-May-08 5,995,500 4.99 Franklin Templeton Institutional LLC 03-Nov-08 5,824,500 4.86 Jim Mellon 18-Jul-08 5,005,137 4.17 Arron Banks 09-Oct-08 4,946,009 4.12 Cantor Fitzgerald Europe 20-Oct-08 4,770,106 3.98 ABN AMRO Bank N.V. 01-Apr-08 3,760,941 3.14 I can't see this lot selling out too cheaply, can you? Whilst I accept some will have already gone, I doubt DD has swept them all in at 50p a shot! Most of his holdings have come from accumulated CFD positions. | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 14:48 | phil, 130p may indeed be low (from Desmond's point of view), but he'll pay what he thinks he can get away with, if bidding soon is his intention. 73p might not be viable (assuming a small rise in the mean time) but 80-90p...I think that would have a great chance, certainly for control, if not the full 90%. Which would still represent a hell of a return from today's price and in current market conditions. BTW, I am not negative on the company (in case it came across that way). It's on my shortlist for new year purchases. | ![]() stewjames
15/12/2008 14:41 | Agreed. At that price, the deal is practically self-funding! | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 14:18 | I dont think the board could reccomend that price and i doubt he would be able to buy 90% of neo at that price or even enough to actually take control of the company (50.0000001%). | ![]() 25cent
15/12/2008 13:54 | Desmond will get away 73p in these markets, easily. If there is a bid for 73p it will be successful and he knows it. | polythene
15/12/2008 13:09 | I have seen these kind of share movements before on undervalued misunderstood stocks like this , they hang around and fall and creep back up for months after month and then all of a sudden they go in a vertical line and usually get absurdly high as the price is absurdly low today. Fantastic capital appreciation opportunity but patience or more patience in case of some on here may well be required in these gutless markets of zero risk and the ongoing flight away from aim stocks. | ![]() 25cent
15/12/2008 12:57 | Correct stewjames, the directors have next to nothing. Last time i looked one had 10,000 and another 110,000. Peanuts. | ![]() dan1man
15/12/2008 12:57 | 130P would be very good value wouldn't it? I'd call that a very opportunistic low price bid - and its 150% odd more than today! 73p is just not gonna take it. | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 12:41 | Neovia is now the world's largest independent online money transfer business, yet is has a market cap of only £66 million. What is wrong with this picture? There is now way this co will be sold for anything like 73p,more like 173p and that would still be too cheap! | ![]() restassured
15/12/2008 12:41 | Stew; PayPal is the biggest player in the electronic payments market, and are no doubt watching with interest. With £55M cash in the bank, NEO is worth much, much more than 73p because of their international footprint, branding, customer base and market share - they are the NO 2 player. I can see PayPal coming in, merely as a spoiler, even if they are precluded from buying the business because of monopoly fears. No - patience is the key here. Buy and hold. It isn't as if NEO are exactly struggling, is it? | ![]() philjeans |
