15/12/2008 12:36 | dan1man - 15 Dec'08 - 10:44 - 95 of 99 On another forum someone says any buy-out offer would be at 73p, being the highest price from the last 12 months. Dan it works the other way, anyone bidding would have to offer at least the highest price he/they paid over the last 6 months for any of the underlaying equity. So 73p would be the floor not the ceiling. | ![]() 25cent
15/12/2008 12:23 | I wouldn't be so sure, phil. It's a great environment to be a buyer. Just 'cos you wouldn't sell at 73p doesn't mean a majority wouldn't. After all, he doesn't seem to be having a great deal of difficulty accumulating at this price! | ![]() stewjames
15/12/2008 11:58 | MMs trying a shake - eight straight Buys and just one sell and they drop the price 1.5p. Trying to entice a seller or two into Mr Desmond's hot and sweaty palm! But we won't fall for that one, will we girls? | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 10:51 | Wasting their time thinking anything less than a quid! | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 10:47 | dan1man - if neo were in a mess 73p would clinch it. Remember Des has only got 26%..... | ![]() targatarga
15/12/2008 10:44 | On another forum someone says any buy-out offer would be at 73p, being the highest price from the last 12 months. Doesn't sound good to me, 73p is far too low...... | ![]() dan1man
15/12/2008 10:42 | More Buys showing up now; good to see that we aren't letting Dermot have it all his own way. Wider market still not interested though - MMs will eventually wake up when a bid of 130p is announced! | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 09:18 | Yes; as I suspected, his broker is hoovering up all the loose stock that they can find! Up another .5% - and on to 29.9%! | ![]() philjeans
15/12/2008 09:16 | Increases his holdigns again and the share price doesn't move Just a matter of time | ![]() restassured

15/12/2008 08:28 | I agree this was a hedge fund favourite, but Desmond has probably scooped most of their shares up. I doubt the co will still be independent this time next year. | ![]() restassured
15/12/2008 08:18 | 25c - well, not much downside for sure, even in these markets, with this one! | ![]() philjeans
14/12/2008 23:20 | I do honestly believe that if the US hedge funds with the redemption pressures have sold out then this will correct itself very quickly indeed. | ![]() 25cent
14/12/2008 12:27 | Thanks Restassured; good spot. As you know, I'm rather keen on this myself! | ![]() philjeans
14/12/2008 11:21 | From The Irish Independent. I still think the market is fast asleep on this!! With more and more market pros talking about the end of this savage bear market, there will be fortunes made as we go into the new Bull market. This stock is a massive bargain at these levels. Desmond invests 20m in rival to Paypal By Nick Webb Sunday December 14 2008 BILLIONAIRE investor Dermot Desmond (above) has amassed a 20m stake in listed online payments firm Neovia. Neovia is now the world's largest independent online money transfer business, operating in a similar sphere to internet giant Paypal. The 75m company, quoted on London's AIM stock exchange, was formerly known as Neteller. Desmond's 26.5 per cent stake is held through investment vehicle Primatur. Two weeks ago, the company spent 11m buying a European pre-paid debit card firm, as it targets growth in the sector. - Nick Webb | ![]() restassured
13/12/2008 10:52 | I can't think of a better share to be in right now; 1) Billionaire takes 26% stake last week 2) share price only up 10% so far - still near historic lows. Currently 56p - was over 800p three years ago! (Then called Neteller - NLR) 3) business booming; profitable and growing fast across the globe. 4) cash-rich - no debt; holds currently £55M against M/C £67M 5) payments sector unaffected by recession 6) dividend promised next year 7) earnings primarily overseas and so benefitting from weak pound 8) company innovative, expansionary and acquisitive, able to take best advantage of problems elsewhere, using their massive cash backing 9) very strong probability of takeover at over 150% of current s/p | ![]() philjeans
12/12/2008 16:14 | Mr Desmond P*ss or get off the pot. Don't even think below 120p | ![]() restassured
12/12/2008 07:57 | Another 10% today quite likely as the market begins to follow the story. | ![]() philjeans
11/12/2008 14:20 | Topped up with another 2500 today - hard to find the cash... Anyone know of a decent portfolio that is up to date on NEO? I use Moneyextra and they show no signs of sorting it out. On-On /Yogi | yogi13
11/12/2008 13:41 | I wonder if the recent heavy volume marks the the end of the US distressed hedge fund sellers that have dragged this down over the last 12 months. I expect a RNS soon about Franklin Resources Inc. disposing of their last 5.8 Eagle Medallion have now cleared out their 5%, from what i can see no other holders are facing mass redemption fire sales of their holdings. This really could move up fast with all that selling volume now extinguished. | ![]() 25cent
11/12/2008 13:26 | M/C £66M Net cash in B/S £55m Irish Billionaire just purchased 27% from distressed fund managers. Business profitable; no debt; international footprint; innovative and recession adverse. s/p up 10% today to 56p. Was over 800p two years ago. I rest my case. | ![]() philjeans
11/12/2008 12:27 | ........and they're off! More buys coming through now as people cotton on to the extraordinary potential profit here as Desmond increases his stake before a full bid. Must be worth 130p minimum. The cash in the business is £55M which will help any bidder BIG TIME. | ![]() philjeans
11/12/2008 10:12 | An old trick is to keep the share price down and then launch a bid saying look how generous we are the bid is at X above the average closing price for y number of days. Clearly this individual knows how to manipulate via derivatives. Lets' just ensure a fair price is paid. | ![]() restassured
11/12/2008 09:50 | Presumably he will launch a bid for the co ,or he will sell his stake to someone who will. At 30% he is obliged under the Takeover Code,to make a bid for the company. | ![]() restassured |
