Uty,

Well done in not responding to the vile and vitriol behaviour emanating from some.

Pleasant, and respected people will always have their voices listened to but if there was ever a case to vote Conservative, even though many on this bb are 'Centrists', then this is the case as we try to distance ourselves from disgusting behaviour from Medieval or Minerve2 or whatever he calls himself today.

I am sure Kier Starmer is loving the Ambassador who is professing all the virtues of his Party.

No wonder the youth seem to despise and hate your generation. One can hardly blame them.

Poor performance for NG and SSE recently - a fear of windfall taxes when the new PM tackles the energy crisis?

uty - and global gas prices are based on, you could say, fake price. Trading is carried out, like oil and gold, with more gas than in the ground. Easy to churn the gas price when its all computer driven and doesn't reflect what's in the ground. Oil in particular is hovering around demand and supply in phase but the traded price goes up. There no shortage of oil and gas although for gas the US and UK have contrived to cause disruption to Russian flows - never understood why Germany bent to US demand to not open Nordstream 2. And how does OFGEM know the price of energy will rise for households to £4000 next year - I guess they have a mystic Meg crystal ball? Also when oil hit $142 a while ago the pump price was no were near todays price!

PS why don't our lot do as Macron and keep energy rise to 4%, using the helicopter cash to energy companies to pay the strangely inflated gas and electricity price.

“…The sale of a 60 per cent stake in National Grid’s gas transmission business to an international consortium led by Australia’s Macquarie, the world’s largest infrastructure investor, is to be reviewed under the National Security and Investment Act…”

UK citizens beware.

We all know what Macquarie have done with the dividends from Thames Water, and we also know that they have not repaired leaky infrastructure, and not prevented large pollution incidents, despite syphoning off those profits for shareholders and management. Was it also possible they may have loaded the company with debt, to enhance payments as well?

This is a privatised utility and the government wants more of this!

Both PE and government would seem to be thieves. Well I suppose some people have now rumbled that now.

But the good old UK electorate continue to believe the lies, and clearly want more of it, too, and therefore more impoverishment.

Comment on the FT. True.
