I believe Michael said that Nanoco would hold a significant stake in the spin off If that is how it plays out, Nanoco's shareholders will own a stake in it.

Per the interview, the life science developments are being funded by private venture capital and that the plan is to spin the life sciences off as a separate entity.

So where do you think the money will go? To the common Nanaco shareholder or to the venture capitalists?

Oh god, Edelman and these interviews always come across so painfully positive, it's frustrating! I really hope this share is genuinely gaining some sort of beneficial traction because it's been sinking in the quicksand for years now!

I've only just been hanging in here since the rather dire rinse-and-repeat interims, so close to crystallising my losses. I'm think i'm gonna stick the course though, whatever this brings. Hopefully good things come to those that wait. And wait....

Yes, it did. I suspect that Dow would supply the QDs if Samsung ever did dual source, meaning that we wouldn't hear about it at all apart from an increase in royalties from their current very low levels.

Thanks, Nanoco were invited speakers at a Samsung QLED summit last year. Seemed kind of odd if they weren't in some form of relationship.

epo001, Samsung produces its own QDs effectively in house, with an exclusive supply agreement from Hansol. There has been speculation that the company might be expected to dual-source, but this is only conjecture and has never been confirmed.

Therefore, the first adjusted pre-tax profit of £7.2m is expected in FY2019, giving EPS of 2.4p

What a joy that would be...

In tomorrow’s Investors Chronicle issue

NANOCO GROUP PLC (NANO)
Nanoco on the cusp of revenue acceleration

MEGAN BOXALL
Commercial sales are finally beginning to materialise at Nanoco (NANO). Chief executive Michael Edelman admits that he may have been a little optimistic about the time frame for revenue generation from his company’s novel quantum dots – which can be used to emit light using very little – but says that eight of the commercial programmes will begin generating sales in the second half. Indeed, broker Peel Hunt expects revenues in the 2018 financial year (which ends in July) to be roughly six times higher than the £1.3m generated in FY2017.
Sales may have been a long time coming, but investors can at least take comfort from the fact that Nanoco has reduced its spending. In 2017, management removed 50 staff and £400,000 of costs every month, meaning operating losses narrowed to £4.8m from £6.4m in the first six months of FY2017. The balance sheet is also looking healthy following the £8.6m fundraising last October.
Beyond the current financial year, Nanoco’s prospects are even more exciting thanks to its recent commercial agreement with a large US corporation for the manufacture of electronic nano-particles. The company is paying to increase the manufacturing capacity at the group’s Runcorn facility and will start ordering products in early 2019. Therefore, the first adjusted pre-tax profit of £7.2m is expected in FY2019, giving EPS of 2.4p (from -£5.4m and -2p in 2018; and -£10.7m and -3.7p in 2017).

Investors have been right to be wary of Nanoco as it has struggled to gain sales traction over the last 12 months, but we think the group has finally reached a turning point, that will see revenues (and the share price) accelerate. Buy.

Most never give the global agricultural industry a second thought but it is massive. Any new and trans-formative systems can have a monumental return very quickly. If the lighting systems for horticulture do in fact turn out to be effective then this income will not be niche; it will be mainstream for the company.

Have a look at the cress market and valuation. Never mind the infrared sensor market or display or the cancer dye market.

An investment is just that, or it's a trade.

People think the market's easy money. Very few participants make any at all, probably around 90% lose. Most chasing their tail. And then they blame other people.
