23/6/2017 15:42 | Because KSF phosphor is self-emitting, heat resistant and gives a warmer light. Ideal for lighting, if only it could be successfully combined with green CFQD. Which is another thing that Nano has achieved and patented...very recently! Different things for different applications... | balaura
23/6/2017 14:35 | Abstract: LED devices emitting white light comprise a blue-emitting LED, green-emitting quantum dots (QDs) and red-emitting KSiF:Mn (KSF) phosphor. A backlight unit (BLU) for a liquid crystal display (LCD) comprises one or more blue-emitting LEDs and a polymer film containing green-emitting QDs and KSF phosphor. The QDs and/or KSF phosphor may be encapsulated in beads that provide protection from oxygen and/or moisture. Why would they need a "red phosphor" if they have a stable working red qd ?? Think about it.. | ih_169538
23/6/2017 14:29 | Nanoco appears to have solved the stability issue. Here are its VERY recent patents: hxxp://stks.freshpat | balaura
23/6/2017 14:23 | Making qd is just one part..making it stable is another..so is cost to produce said qd.It's much more than just saying you can make a red or green qd.Nanosys much like QDV may go up for sale for its IP if they can't get fully cad free. They have developed way more IP than QDV and should be worth a lot more. There was multiple buyers for QDV so I am sure there would lots of interest if that was the case. | ih_169538
23/6/2017 14:20 | Nanoco has both CF green (which are more difficult to produce) and red. See their ad for agricultural red dots. Nanosys has CF red. Dow can only produce Cd-free QLED or filters if: 1) they buy red Cd-free QD from Nano or elsewhere; 2) use Nano's IP to produce green as well as red CFQD. Why had Dow Cd-containing red QD in their blog, especially when they recently talked about the importance of going Cd-free?! One explanation could be it was a mistake by the author of the blog, which used some old figure...Cd IS out, done, finished.... 3MM "retiring" it today is just the start. | balaura
23/6/2017 14:08 | crunch, Nanoco has both red and green. Both with high specs.. Dow does, too. They were able to produce red cad free Qdots some 10 years ago. It was the green spec which was lagging behind, but that was addressed in their new process improvements some months ago. Nanosys has red cad free. But useless without the green. Nanosys has just lost its main film supplier for cadmium qdots. It's only hope now is for some sort of future for its hybrid qdot film. Of course that still contains cadmium which isn't great. Wonder why 3M pulled the plug? No future is the answer and no clients.. Nanosys is dead meat. Probably their last hope is the legal action with Qd vision (now Samsung). But it was Samsung all along and those patent payments. | kuss1
23/6/2017 13:47 | Kuss ..dont get too excited..Nanosys still makes cad free red ..not green.Sounds like Nanoco has a green ..not red, from the Dow article..maybe its time to partner up with each other.Neither have blue yet. | ih_169538
23/6/2017 09:02 | bagpuss - not selling any at the mo. I would certainly have sold if we'd seen a substantial pick up in volume on this retrace but the volumes just pants. There was a bit of a red flag when the share price broke north of the bull flag also on low volume. The same will apply if it closes below the floor in similar circumstances. | boris cobaka
23/6/2017 08:54 | Cant see it being good news for nanosys. Decided no to sell why I bought at 35p! | bagpuss67
23/6/2017 08:37 | I've been banging on about Nanosys being in trouble for more than a year. 3M closing down their Qdot film production is a massive blow for Nanosys. The reason they are doing it is because they have no customers. You don't close down a profitable business. Nanosys can't do cad free so they are toast. They can't live off a few patent payments from Samsung. With Nanosys on their way out, QD vision history, the competitive landscape is getting smaller and smaller.... | kuss1

22/6/2017 23:37 | Been in that 15 years ago. Was nice. | bagpuss67
22/6/2017 23:23 | Bags same here Premier oil at 44 will get that back for you in no time;) | syd7777
22/6/2017 23:05 | Slippy boris syd. I'm just about 10% down already. Now going to have to sell again tomorrow to crystallise a futher loss now. | bagpuss67
22/6/2017 22:43 | Why have Nanoco continued to keep a PR that's been hated by 95% of investors unless ME is using her as his S.. slave. The truth is sometimes more real then fiction.ME has another week to go along with the worst PR that never gets the sack along with his lies after lies he needs to part with Nanoco.I will rally with the government not to be fooled with his new graphene company project to get more funding for his HMS ME yacht. | syd7777
22/6/2017 22:22 | Ffs slippery. Bought some back at 35p as advised and shafted again already. | bagpuss67
22/6/2017 22:19 | Small volume shorts have the upper hand and are hoping no more IIs buys to stop them reaching 30.05.Majority of companies seem to be able to burn of the inside information of a company but Nanoco gives it away from their PR employee that we all hate. | syd7777
22/6/2017 20:58 | Quite a few buys amongst those sells though, most are being mopped up. | andycapped
22/6/2017 19:55 | Broken below the earlier pullback low. Hard to see how we won't see 30p again now. Volume has been very poor but there's enough selling to dictate direction. | boris cobaka
22/6/2017 16:35 | Later this year, Philips will add at least one more high-end model based on LCD technology. We know that it will be the new 8000 range and that it will be the company’s first with quantum dot technology. | howl01
22/6/2017 14:12 | I personally wouldn't take that for granted. We don't know if Samsung are using Dow's CFQD's, there have only been hints that may be the case. | andycapped
21/6/2017 22:50 | Bagpuss maybe not Nanoco directly but DOW certainly with Samsung and the new kid on the block Google.Im surprised you took Boris as a new man here it's Goose and his followers that have made the shorts increase from their demand. They will disappear along with the shorts reducing over the next 2-6 weeks. The IIs have been taking a higher position along with the shorts and we all know how hot it got last July,August.Simple choice Bags follow Goose and NT or ask yourself why have IIs brought heavy. | syd7777
21/6/2017 22:24 | (Mon) goose / slippery (sidewinder)/ (hissing) syd. What has your post got to do with nanoco? | bagpuss67
21/6/2017 21:43 | For the first time Googles name has been mentioned with QDs in one of today's links.Samsung has no objection in using Dows CFQDs for its massive signage either.Samsung was showing its latest quantum dot-powered HDR10+ QLED signage. 21/6/2017 20:01 | Boris is a too polite to be Slippy,It's Esog1 Goose his back sell now while no news is forthcoming from his short institutions advise ,as NT follows his leader. The replay cycle has begun before they get burnt ;) at 89.His advise last year at the same time was sell at 38,I'm glad I didn't it went as high as 79 after 3 weeks.Change the name save the embarrassment GOOSE. 😎 | syd7777 |
