27/2/2015 17:11 | Mac I have no doubt the bond will be oversubscribed. | lucky punter
27/2/2015 16:32 | It seems they needed a $5m uptake in the last week. There are bound to have been tail end Charlies waiting to see what everyone else was doing before committing. | mr macgregor
27/2/2015 16:04 | We will hear about the bond Monday or Tuesday by RNS I suspect. I also suspect the market will like the successful bond even though it was always going to fill given the status applied by the Government of Zimbabwe. This share needs some positive news. Some guidance with a definitive completion schedule for the smelter will add some meat to the bone. | lucky punter
27/2/2015 13:03 | shrewdinvest, institutions are supposed to back the bond but the question was always whether that requirement would be enforced in Zimbabwe. The other point is, the legal requirement is for them to carry a percentage. As far as I'm aware there has never been a guarantee that the full $20m of Mwana's bond would be carried. We'll see early next week if they got the full amount. | gwr7
27/2/2015 12:16 | Clearly any additional demand is good news. The wall street journal piece has been artistically developed by Mining.com Orders for Apple Watch Edition – the high-end model featuring 18-karat gold casing – are relatively small in the first quarter but Apple plans to start producing more than one million units per month in the second quarter, the person said. Analysts expect demand for the high-end watches to be strong in China where Apple’s sales are booming Really one million gold watches a month; everyone will have one within 5 years. | lucky punter
27/2/2015 12:09 | I know I read the article but obviously 2 troy ozs cannot fit into that watch. Do you hold any physical gold. Have a look at a 1 ozs biscuit and put it on your wrist; makes no sense. | lucky punter
27/2/2015 11:46 | LP Technology giant Apple may soon buy up one third of the world’s gold in order to meet the demands of its highly anticipated Apple Watch, according to reports. Interest in the high-end model, featuring 18-karat gold casing, is picking up and the firm is already taking the necessary steps to have enough of them in stock. According to WSJ.com, Apple plans to start producing more than one million units per month in the second quarter of the year, anticipating high demand from Asian markets, mainly China. It is estimated each gold watch will contain 2 troy ounces (62.2 grams)of gold. So, based on the estimated sales figure, Apple will need 746 tons of gold a year, or about 30% of the world’s annual production ! | gcpinc
27/2/2015 11:08 | gc however that is simply nonsense. 2 ozs of gold in one watch; how big is it? | lucky punter
27/2/2015 10:48 | Interesting article : Apple buying a 3rd of the worlds gold ! | gcpinc
26/2/2015 20:31 | The bond was always a racing certainty given the government status attached to the offering. The company extended because the institutions were slow to work out what they were required to do. This is the first of it's kind and as is often the case large entities were slow to take on change. Choice was to close and let them face regulation and fines or extend. Mwa just want the cash so extending was the right thing to do. It's been a frustrating time but mwa have not been sitting on their hands. The smelter restart is well advanced, the longest lead is Q4 which we are in now and ends end of March. I suspect testing will start early April and all being well ramp up will complete mid summer. Between dates I suspect they will continue to ship the concentrate that cannot go through the smelter. We will hear about a deal for the alloy in due course; probably with Glencore hopefully with a 15% margin or lower. The other option is for mwa to sell the alloy to a refinery or to pay the refinery to process and sell the finished product. We can look now to a time when costs at high nickel values will be low, mwa can realise substantial profit rather than giving much of it to glencore. Nickel values will in my opinion increase into the events and a share price rerate will be seen. That is why I am a buyer again now. | lucky punter
26/2/2015 19:43 | Government backed bond? | bump3r
26/2/2015 18:39 | FFS, why would you be impressed at getting the bond away, it's government backed, the institutions have to back it they have no choice | shrewdinvest
26/2/2015 16:16 | Thanks for putting that article up bumper. I suppose I'm one of the more cynical ones on here but I will be impressed if they get the bond away. We all know the investment case for the smelter is compelling, it was just a question of whether they could get the funds in place to really get cracking with it. We've had the entirely predictable African delay but if that article is right then I think they have critical mass. I'll hold off buying until the facts are published. | gwr7
26/2/2015 15:42 | A white face would get no where in Zimbabwe when dealing with National assets like these | lucky punter
26/2/2015 15:25 | As we all know Africans are good at screwing things up, being corrupt and telling lies. In fact they excel at all of them. | mreasygoing
26/2/2015 14:30 | A fair weather friend who sells at the slightest challenge. I have bought 600k today in 3 trades; 2 on ISDX and one yet to show | lucky punter
26/2/2015 14:17 | Easy - dont know why you are attacking me. I am a long term holder too and i would guess i hold a lot more than you | juju44
26/2/2015 14:14 | juju I do hope you regret selling at these lowly values. Sad sad man. | lucky punter
26/2/2015 14:06 | Juju you'll do well to remember that Most on here are long term holders, none of us are going to sell at the bottom of a commodities cycle or the bottom of MWA share price. So stick your poison where the sun don't shine. | mreasygoing
26/2/2015 13:12 | unlucky plonker filtered - ah , now i feel better | juju44
26/2/2015 13:10 | yes Bind up but on piddly volume - but at least its up | juju44
26/2/2015 13:02 | Yeah and I reckon copper has bottomed. | mreasygoing |
