Aquacure and Poesiedon (poor spelling) are missing off their wastewater web-page.
What a shambles.

2nd sentence para 2 probably 95% correct - 1st sentence (imo) only 5% chance of being right. Thought that is not saying that their departure is not a good thing.

If the Coy (and it is a big IF) going to surevive needs to be a lot leaner and commercial with PROVEN BEST OF CLASS PRODUCTS that are a "must have". As yet - so far as I can see - we do not have them.

If anyone (including Managenent) can certify that our products meet the above objective Please advise !! I might then invest !!

Another NED gone. What will happen to his shares to add to Rob Clarkes and the x-Chairman.

If charitable you might say they are going to save money and the company. If uncharitable you could say they see no future here or don't want to be associated with the train wreck.

The £20M+ contract is over "X" years as it includes running the installation. Think it is over 5 years and taing out build cost the revenue needs to annualised.

Oh for a growing profitable company to emerge.

This was in the water, below, lawsuit due ro possible health impact.

Do MWG have enough snouse to sell to the likes of DuPont for testing their effluent.

So far it doesn't look like it.

Testing industrial effluent at source is sensible and big industrial groups could at least claim they cared and were not negligent even if there are still some problems afterwards.

No Oct or Nov Planning Meetings in Gib so if ratification relies on such a meeting there is unlikely to be confirmation before Dec 5th.

Can these people exploit this MASSIVE potential?

What are the odds? Pretty poor if the past is much to go by.

Decent volume.

Gibraltar news in the offing perhaps or Chairman buy or, how about some China news?

A mystery, better than being dead in the water.

Outside of MWG has anyone else said the Gib wastewater contract would be ratified 'soon'?

I don't think so. Could it have been a management ploy to try to keep the gravy train running a little longer and that is why Clarke jumped?

It has been more than 12 months since they 'won' this contract in which time the value has fallen £1.5M and still no ratification.

They are rapidly running out of credibility. Someone is selling down but we see no holding RNS's and it could well be a single large entity.

Something doesn't add up here. It looks like they will need debt or a large fund raising or hit the wall as a train wreck.

I agree AFC FC's will not provide the capacity too alleviate other water treatment plants.

"I have been on the board of AFC for three years. Since that time it was clear to me that the fuel cell industry could leverage significant value from production and sale of water as a byproduct of the hydrogen fuel cell process. H2 and O2 go in and water comes out…Dubai Carbon offered us a unique opportunity. We are looking to produce 300 MW, but my feeling is that the region can host many more times that. And we are in the range of half a liter per kilowatthour. We are talking megaliters of water…Most of off-grid power requirements also come with requirements for water. So that adds economic sense to the business case."

Link :

This set up would produce about 150 litres per hour, far cheaper as well.

Oasys are US based, private. Appear more dynamic and go-getting than Modern W.

They are making roads into China and my money is on them beaitng Modern to a pulp in the FO market over there.

Very disappointed with Moderns management. I hope I am wrong but this looks like a terminal basket case and it's not down to the markets being targetted but the management, costs and bloated headcount/titles.

AFC are interesting but looks like nowhere near enough H20 as a by-product to be of use on a small municipal scale?

The best Modern could probably hope for is a larger parent to bolt them on unless they get very lucky very soon.

Well there are always exceptions, is Oasys on the AIM market.

AFC could be the answer for water supply with their FC produces water a by-product of their Fuel Cells, power, heat and water what more do want.

P1.....What you described above is AIM all over...personally the market cannot survive in it present unregulated form IMO.

It amazes me how tight private LTD companies are before they list and they bob's your uncle huge salary increase like magic the companies fortunes have changed over night well it has now its shareholder money your spending, ridiculous.

I always said directors should get a basic salary and paid in shares, without incentives it will be continual BS. I got nothing against directors remuneration reflecting a profit making company paying shareholders a dividend fine no problem. Sorry to say I have lost all faith in AIM.

I hadn't seen the bbc article - thank you.

The real problem here was/is management at the original fundation imho.

It was based on a few assumptions, one being you can load such a collection of small companies with management expecting the salary and lifestyle expected from an established utility.

It was handicapped and loaded with excess expense from day 1.

Money was spent like water znd the leadership was bloated (literally) and not having grown acreal business from scratch elsewhere. Interestingly the previous Chairman has gone to the non-profit sector by the looks of it. That is telling.

There is hope but the waste of shareholder equity is shocking. Upper management should be ashamed.

P1....You seem to be all alone on this board...

Saw this today, I imagine you are aware of these plants...

I was in these a long time ago...it just seemed to be taking an age to get any orders.. I've come to the conclusion that R&D companies listed on AIM are there for the benefit of BOD and shareholders are shafted every time, there seems to be a lack of urgency, or they are not coming clean with unforeseen problems that take forever and day to resolve..

I wished these would succeed but not that hopeful...GL here.

Alan Wilson is supposed to be non-exec so is he or isn't he?
Unless there is some good news it won't run smoothly into next year. They have been spending money like water.

No wonder there have been no Director buys. They don't have any confidence in the future of the business as they can see the writing on the wall.

'Commenting on the financial results, Fiona Cincotta, senior market analyst from Finspreads, said: “The restructuring plan from new chairman Alan Wilson, couldn´t come soon enough and Modern Water needs to set about reducing operating costs at a much quicker rate than what it is currently doing, if it wants to run smoothly into the next year.”'

This was Sept 2010.
GROWTH PLANS.
Both now gone so what does that say.
Look at the cash destruction, year after year.

"I am very pleased to welcome Robert Clarke to the Board, who joined as Non-Executive Director in June. Robert has over 20 years private equity industry experience and will play an important role in supporting Modern Water's growth plans."Modern Water is in a strong financial position as we are debt free with £21.2 million cash in hand. This, combined with our impressive portfolio of technologies and experienced management team, firmly places Modern Water in prime position for future growth."

Imtech has put their water/waste etc section into admin.

MWG not the same but it happens and Robert Clarke resigning might be a sign as he was on audit and remuneration commitees as NED.

Notice no rns about Clarke, dropped in at the end of the Chairmans statement.
