16/2/2014 10:10 | I may have missed it but is there a mention anywhere of the value of any business in negotiation on the desalination front? | p1nkfish
12/2/2014 12:28 | I wouldn't class today's news as "non news" the water monitoring division is obviously progressing nicely and over the long term can add real value to mwg. Big news is yet to arrive but all news to date is very positive, if somewhat slow! Rome wasn't built in a day n all. | opaldouglas
12/2/2014 10:47 | Making new sales in America isn't easy so the RNS is worthy IMHO, it also gives the sales team and distributors the confidence and belief to walk through the door of every University Laboratory in the world boasting capability and a case study more sales will follow. The management I know nothing about so would be interested to hear your thoughts or know what they've done to trigger your concerns. | praipus
12/2/2014 10:00 | None include MWG. Too small and no track record. The news today was non-news. We need some meat and a de-sal plant with a revenue figure. News like today looks like a sop to the plebs to avoid selling going through as PI's get bored. Breakeven will come but they need to pull a finger out. Not sure the management in place currently can achieve it. | p1nkfish
12/2/2014 09:14 | Indeed and match it to a style of investment. so easiy discussed so difficult to do... 11/2/2014 23:02 | Thanks great info, I'll add ETF's to the thread mentioned above. Interesting what made you mention trade duration and longevity of holding? | praipus

Will show growth due to pressure on resources and ultimstely inflation. Water: POWERSHARES GLOBAL NASDAQ OMX GBL WTR EUR DIS ISHARES II PLC GLOBAL WATER UCITS etfdailynews.com is useful if you have a share and would like to check what etf holds it. Tend not to trade. No good at it, not nimble enough. Like to hold for 3-5 and try, with luck, to find a good entry point. Have had holdings for > 5 yrs if it makes sense. | p1nkfish
11/2/2014 22:34 | Held IPO but sold at a profit to buy FIP and FIPP :-) Another shareholder Ruffer also hold many of the IPO spin outs. So I've started tracking the rest of their holdings on the WAM thread: Water ETF's? I also track some of the ETF's that follow the deeply traded futures markets: It would be interesting to know the water oriented ETF's you trade and I'll add them to the ETF thread...if you don't mind. Cheers P. | praipus
11/2/2014 17:38 | Hi P1nkfish, Have you got any MWG shares? If so why? If not what are you a buyer of? | praipus
11/2/2014 15:56 | More likely to benefit from draught and pollution. | p1nkfish
11/2/2014 15:31 | Does anyone here have visibility of the magnitude of increased sales due to prolonged UK flooding? | praipus
11/2/2014 08:28 | next set of results are critical to see momentum towards break-even. If they can't make progress given the situation in ME, China and West Coast US they probably never will. | p1nkfish
11/2/2014 07:42 | Sounds like a trick question. I remember one company talking about KPIs without specifying. Might be the same here. Good point though, have you considered asking the company? | pilot48
11/2/2014 07:31 | Can anyone please point me towards where the performance criteria are documented? 'Subject to achieving certain performance conditions, including revenue growth and share price targets, these awards will vest on 26 March 2016, with vesting prices up to £1.00 per ordinary share.' | p1nkfish

20/1/2014 07:58 | Nice to see the Monitoring division ticking along nicely. | opaldouglas
20/1/2014 07:56 | New monitoring product launched: 20 January 2014 Modern Water plc ("Modern Water" or "the Group") MODERN WATER LAUNCHES FLAGSHIP TRACE METAL MONITOR Modern Water plc (AIM:MWG), the owner of leading water technologies for the production of fresh water and monitoring of water quality, today launches the OVA7000 Dual Cell, a new product which is part of its popular trace metal analyser product portfolio. The OVA7000 Dual Cell has been designed to extend the range of detectable metals to up to ten in a single unit and offers 24 hour monitoring of three to six sample streams, both of which represent great advances on existing technology. The new analyser uses voltammetry to detect metals in liquid applications. Voltammetry is an internationally accepted detection method which offers an alternative solution to lengthy laboratory analysis and is used in all of Modern Water's OVA product range. It can be used to detect contaminants in rivers, lakes, groundwater and the sea; to monitor process and drinking water quality; and industrial and municipal wastewater discharges. Modern Water's OVA products have proven to offer cost effective, accurate and real time solutions to trace metals monitoring in a range of environments and applications across the world. A significant advantage of the new monitor is that it has two analytical cells and each can be fitted with a different electrode whilst sharing the one pre-treatment unit. Voltammetry methods often require different electrodes in order to optimise the detection of a specific metal. By having a single unit with two electrodes, the Dual Cell allows combinations of metals that would previously have required two separate instruments. Neil Townend, Managing Director for Modern Water's Monitoring Division, added: "The OVA 7000 Dual Cell is an exciting addition to the trace metal product portfolio. It has been designed with careful consideration of the needs and demands of the market and provides greater flexibility of the variety of metals that can be detected in a single unit. This important new product is a key development in our already popular OVA product range." | visionon

27/12/2013 15:58 | Theme of Chinese water will be big in the next 10 years. I had a link to interesting reading on that front but can't find it now. Was written from an investment theme perspective and did not mention mwg specifically but written as if it was all about their offerings to meet Chinese needs. | p1nkfish
27/12/2013 08:05 | Regardless of fundamentals or charts investors are having an end of year nibble. We have had a steady stream of buys over the last week or so and the share price is heading in the right direction. | opaldouglas |
