Weak £ will mean many more of these acquisitions when the UK seems to be heading for recession, there will be bargains for some. Shame really, but that's good old capitalism and i hope many PIs have made money on this announcement, some top posters on here who i respect.

As usual U.K. assets being sold for peanuts, what a disaster this company and management have been. With the collapse in sterling the bidders are getting it 30 pc cheaper than 12 months ago just on currency wreck. UK doomed.

They getting this company very cheaply must be 750p. This may wake up other companies who were thinking about bidding. I see a bidding war.

Wasn't there an option warranted in the tie up with AWS for x million shares at I think it was 448 or 478p?
What if they exercised that option now?
Where would those shares come from, are they existing retained by treasury?
Or would more have to be issued which wouldn't be possible now because of the takeover?

Feel offer is taking Micro Focus out on the cheap. I personally had a 3 year evaluation of 800p to 1000p plus dividends.Be interesting to see whether this wakes up other stalwarts in this space with counter offers. Feel where company is and future prospects that counter offers in the 600 to 700p range maybe seen.Irrespective just goes to show despite the depressing share price of late , others see the value as we did.

When a company I used to work for was taken out a few years ago, there were two counter offers and the final TO price was around 25% more than the first offer.
