22/7/2022 14:22 | ...from a few months ago... Microfocus is engaged in infrastructure software across the globe and is currently supporting corporations transform its business operations with solutions within information management and predictive analysis. These plausible and precedented cutting-edge software initiatives enhanced the firm’s net cash position, illustrated by the robust P/FCF ratio of 14.6. As a result, the firm’s liquidity surged and thereby EV/EBITDA simultaneously soared to 7.72. Consequently, it implies that Microfocus captured intrinsic value while boosting profitability. Despite the progress made, the firm is still relatively undervalued with respect to the information technology sector, since the firm’s P/E ratio currently stands at 4.8, with respect to the IT sector P/E ratio of 30.3. Given that Microfocus is trading at a discount, the firm’s Net Asset Value (NAV) will be forced up, enabling investors to derive ample returns on investment, as illustrated from the current dividend yield of 4.52%. Brief Analysis: P/E = 4.9, relatively below the IT sector threshold P/FCF = 14.6, above the IT sector benchmark. EV/EBITDA = 7.72 higher than last year. Dividend yield of 4.52%, growing steadily on a yearly basis.... ...from WealthOracleAM | km18

04/7/2022 11:06 | Consensus debt reduction this year is just over $600m and then $250m+ p.a in years to come. The dividend cost is $65m. It's arguable whether cutting the dividend would make a big difference with the debt coming down at that rate. I'd say the problem is not the debt but that visibility on contracts is reasonably good and so the market is disappointed it is not seeing enough growth yet. It's only appearing in a few bits of the business. The overall revenue recovery keeps getting pushed back so we continue to survive on cost cutting. A little bit of good news on contracts would be all that is needed to convince that revenue growth is returning. That would change everything. Cutting the dividend would just be another negative and not make a huge difference. It's continuation draws in yield hunters who are often happy to wait for a slow turnaround to bear fruit. So long as it does not interefere with an anticipated steady reduction in debt. I think it is better to keep it. | aleman

01/7/2022 07:27 | Do these new appointments point towards a deeper working relationship with Accenture in the future? Accenture could easily gobble up Microfocus with an all cash offer. It would be a shame if they were able to advantage of the currently depressed Microfocus s share price here. | indiestu

25/6/2022 18:55 | And not forgetting the $545m net debt reduction in H1 was after they spent $28m cash on the Debricked acquisition and $48m on acquiring intangible assets (as well as the $65m on the dividend). If they were in trouble, all of these could have been dropped to add a further $141m to debt reduction. Presumably, they feel they are comfortable for cash generation head room and did not need to. | aleman
25/6/2022 18:15 | @aleman "Cashflows manage debt, not profit". Spot on, it's never the debt that sinks the ship, it's debt serviceability (i.e. risk of default). As things stand, zero risk of MCRO defaulting. Good summary! ;-) | drk1 |
