09/2/2021 07:22 | sceptical....my average cost of buying MCRO is around 300p now so the % on cost of shares will be around 11.5% per annum. Not bad when interest rates are almost nil. | purchaseatthetop
09/2/2021 07:21 | Good news on the dividend but after the first half results the share price dived due to the write downs and they have increased more than I imagined. I realise they are backwards looking but the markets might take it that the situation has deteriorated further from the half year. I am not as confident as all of you on today. | planit2
09/2/2021 07:20 | JW once the impairment charge is recorded, it must be written down as goodwill FY 2019 6,671.3 was recorded now FY 2020 3,835.4 The bottom line is the market has known for some time about the overpayment for HPE and MCRO is now quickly addressing that by writing it down in large chunks | markbelluk
09/2/2021 07:20 | The 15p divi is the final payment you ignorant baboon. This means that the annual divi is circa 6 - 7%. | scepticalinvestor
09/2/2021 07:19 | Yeah impairments can be great but could result in massive drops in share price. In this case hoping the announcement of dividends keep the sellers away. By the way is this last bit of the impairments? Couldn't find anything info about it | jw330
09/2/2021 07:18 | Very pleasing update. EBIT & Margin at upper end of expectations, divi backexcellent update | scepticalinvestor
09/2/2021 07:17 | It's a good thing that they can still use the impairment, from my poor accountancy understanding it will offset tax by creating a loss with no impact whatsoever on cash Great update all in all | martinfrench
09/2/2021 07:13 | 3% dividend? Are they joking?? | currencytrader1
09/2/2021 07:09 | concur PATT | stoxx67
09/2/2021 07:08 | Impairment is historical and means IMO nothing. Not cash. The divi is key plus this statement: "Micro Focus has a highly cash generative operating model. The Group is one-year into a three-year transformation which we believe will deliver substantial returns for shareholders". It will deliver value as they have set a strategy of delivering dividends covered 5 times by earnings in the report. Back to shareholder cash cow. Share price will IMO be 600p close of play. | purchaseatthetop
09/2/2021 07:06 | I guess that was what the investors are looking for. Good news on that front! That 2.8 billion impairment looks rough though... | jw330

09/2/2021 07:01 | ยท Given the Group's continued strong cash performance, the Board has elected to reinstate the dividend and recommend a final dividend of 15.5 cents per share (FY19: nil). | markbelluk
09/2/2021 06:24 | Thanks Cromwell....I saw the Tesla announcement and I thought of you (in the nicest and most complimentary way as you made the right call). Well done. | purchaseatthetop
09/2/2021 05:44 | Hiya, my ARB investment did good. Tesla buying $1.5 billion bitcoins. just popped back to say good luck today, | cromw3ll
09/2/2021 04:57 | The recent past has been pretty dire here. In the end it was a collapse of their business model which is why Loosemore had to go. His vision of mcro fell with the weakness of a purchase and grow approach. The replacement inherited a failed model but there remained value and expertise and a solid business with a future. Let's see what the results say about that future. Roch | rochdae

08/2/2021 23:01 | Lots of non-cash write downs tomorrow. Good cash flow, big reported loss. | hatfullofsky
08/2/2021 21:05 | No need for anti Semitic posts! | phillis |
