24/10/2020 09:17 | US share price (359c) now equivalent to 275p... | scepticalinvestor
23/10/2020 19:21 | For the life of me I can't understand why Mr Murdoch at this lowly price hasn't put his hand in his pocket (apart from the fact he has Scottish roots). The same can be said for other main Board Directors and NEDs - Greg Lock excepted. It has been interesting to note in the broader market that companies in recent announcements talk about re-instating dividends or making special payments - or doing share buybacks with the justification that their share prices are too low. Mr Murdoch must be under pressure to do something significant in the November trading update from major investors. With no dividend having being paid this year an immediate reinstatement of the share buyback programme may be an obvious thing to do. After all if they could buyback a load of stock at £12+ a share it seems illogical not to do the same thing at £2.50. | boozey
23/10/2020 18:20 | I agree with Brucie. MCRO is priced for near disaster. Trouble is until the next update we won’t know whether that’s justified. My guess is it isn’t so I’ve got a small (losing at present) stake in case the next update is reassuring. If it is there’s big and quick upside along with big mark up on the news before we can buy or add. Obviously if the next update is bad the share is likely to drop a lot further, including on the day of the news and before holders can escape. So it’s not priced for total disaster yet. | kenmitch
23/10/2020 15:31 | PE of 2...is Priced for bankruptcy. | brucie5
23/10/2020 14:42 | You said its priced for bankruptcy, that comes across as a deramp | ozzmosiz
23/10/2020 14:39 | ????? I just intimated that this is cheap. But by all means sell if you wish. Scroll back to Oct 21st and you'll see I bought some. But I don't give *tips*. | brucie5
23/10/2020 12:55 | Wow, really appreciate your top tip brucie, will contact my broker now to sell my holding on the back end of your learned advice... Maybe you could contact the board also as they have been buying and you could have saved them a load of money?? | clemoc
23/10/2020 10:16 | Looks like a bargain to me. And surely priced for bankruptcy. | brucie5
23/10/2020 09:59 | I remember these at 2550p so at 255p is it a fair punt on recovery. Like that review said upside outweighs downside.Come on a Goldilocks or a US hedge fund stuff the three bears who are short 3.84%. | montyhedge
23/10/2020 09:55 | From the link above - Curreen Capital thought Micro Focus was a great buy at $16.23 in 2018 when they first invested. | gerardp
23/10/2020 09:23 | No one knows, fair bet update should show signs of improvement.Exactly this time last year 1116p now 255p. I still say 350p if and of course a big if, that update is ok. | montyhedge
23/10/2020 09:17 | DYORDid anyone actually look at the underlying source document in the 'tip sheet'? Curreen Capital isn't a tip sheet it is an Investment fund and their comment about Micro Focus is related to them owning shares. Unfortunately, it is the description of the company before the latest strategic review......Here's the link https://static1.squa | philms
23/10/2020 08:37 | Your right they have done their homework on Micro Focus. What we need is a US hedge fund to come in take on the three shorting hedge funds who are short 3.84% of the stock. The US hedgie would make good money. Perhaps we should give Axe Capital a call from TV's Billions, lol. | montyhedge
23/10/2020 08:23 | Monty "they can’t say much obviously, because no one knows" - they near always know well in advance of we private investors (there is always a leak), so the share price these next few days will tell us what to expect on the trading update well before MCRO announce it officially! | dr knowledge
23/10/2020 07:57 | Good find monty, explains the big jump in the states, heading closer to the re rate we all no is coming.. | clemoc
22/10/2020 20:34 | Micro Focus been tipped in US. Should be up in the morning. | montyhedge
22/10/2020 17:48 | I made a small 'contrarian' bet here recently in the hope that MCRO is finally starting to get over its indigestion. Analysts are certainly more bullish. Softcat is another recent purchase of mine, I've already doubled my money with SmartSpace (SMRT) from earlier this year and lately took a position in minnow CloudCoCo (CLCO) which might someday be a target, or a remote learning specialist or both. Someone else on *this* thread might be patient enough I guess. GLA. | cordwainer
22/10/2020 10:06 | Kainos up 28% on their update, Softcat up on theirs. All software, cloud etc. So fingers crossed for Micro. Any hint of a it being positive, shareprice should take off. | montyhedge
22/10/2020 09:28 | Your make money ftse100 down 5 days in a row, most stocks down. Wait for the bounce and the trading update. | montyhedge
21/10/2020 16:03 | Bought 1k shares as a small side bet. I've watched and watched... and can't believe this isn't going to rise to a more sensible level when it's been batted down this far. Hopefully, will yield me the price of a nice socially distanced slap up meal for the fam in whatever is left of our local hospitality industry. | brucie5
21/10/2020 15:25 | At least Micro gone positive in US. Someone likes it, lol. | montyhedge |
