Sounds a bit bizarre but not a bad day today (be interesting to see where it closes). The news from across the pond hit stocks & futures across the board & presented a great chance for the shorters to really hammer the share price As it stands they haven't (either here or in the states), so just possible we are at or very near the bottom!

Good trading update a few weeks ago and director buy.
Why would poor results follow that from a very experienced CEO, it just wouldn't make any sense...

Judging by the number of new hires recently and the further number of technical openings for new positions on their site, this doesn't look like a company in terminal decline to me and it isn't. They have too many big, core clients - banks and insurance companies, that depend on legacy applications support, as their foundation. These legacy systems cannot and will not be migrated over to mid range or cloud based systems in the foreseeable future. They are the backbone of the majority of these companies.

Might be an idea for you to google "Micro Focus Saas" and ingest the results (always helps to know your company). Saas is but one of their enterprise solution offerings. ;-)

You said it based on annual free cash flow this company could pay off its debt in 10 years. I would say 99% of companies have debt. Lets wait for the trading update few weeks time, rather than speculate. No one knows. Greg Locke buying another 250,000 pounds worth the other day above 250p, he must think they are ok, no one throws money away.

The customer base and revenue is shrinking. Based on annual free cash flow this company could pay off its debts in 10 years.

I can easily see the equity continuing to shrink unless the management come up with a strategy to show us the future. At the moment the future is akin to a Huge mortgage to pay off while your salary keeps getting lower. That’s no fun for any one and why this can easily half from here if the shrinkage continues at the next results

Bears in control until November, trading update first week normally.Bulls on the sidelines. At least it's not a profit warning update, they would have brought that out in July, early like last year.

longs like myself are already invested and do not wish to committ additional funds.will do so once we get the update or any major positive news.come november and after US election i will reassess and decide whether to add or not.basic investing principle.

why?when there is no more selling and everybody holds tight the algos have to change direction unless there is a major negative news.the volume speaks for itself,the share price has been marked down but there are no buyers either because bulls are waiting for the update jusi in case.

My theory is that any shares which are currently well below their March/April lows are not likely to come back that well.

Well done? I held on for last year - don't feel I deserve a well done for holding on. Why would I have not been better selling two weeks ago and buying today - I could understand a well done then
