16/10/2006 20:41 | Hi tufty I think all that need to be said about MPH and the future has been said, keep smiling and I will be around for Christmas dinner with Mrs WBJ as usual............wbj PS Unless MPH goes north then your on your own................. | ![]() wbjunior
16/10/2006 18:37 | petersinthemarket, This company could not stop talking when everything was going well and for around 2 years has been very cagey IMHO. An RNS saying good news will see the price rise for a few weeks and then profit taking will kick in again as the short term players run off with their quick gains. The price will then drift back as it has done every time since Nov 2004. Those who got lucky in the 12pence area will not agree as they have seen a nice profit via buying and holding but most out there have not. To be honest I am tempted to buy some at this level as I feel some news could come soonish but as I say if I did it would only be for a quick profit. Good luck to all and hello WBJ, DDL and Lex. | ![]() tuftymatt
16/10/2006 15:22 | Dean I agree they need to be transparent on the labels as to the revenue generated by each, showing that they are open and candid about proceedings and then investors will be more prepared to jump on board............... PS Why the buybacks not kicking in at this price beats me. | ![]() wbjunior
16/10/2006 14:56 | The market won't move this imo until they have a clear sight of the impact of the YSL loss....so really we need MPH to indicate underlying revenue + profit without YSL......both current and future | ![]() deanroberthunt
16/10/2006 12:09 | The director buys in the last few months imply to me that the company WILL deliver | ![]() mick33
15/10/2006 14:22 | I have been watching this thread now for many months, but in all honesty I could equally have been watching it for several years and the status of MPH would still have remained unchanged. Others evidently believe this may continue further, perhaps for months or years. Most recent posts: ''...may cause concern when reporting next years EPS figures'', ''...confidence in long term sustainability''. I understand patience, and long term commitment, and so on, but from my viewpoint these virtues are beginning to look like excess. Pls dont trouble me with fundamentals. I am already convinced. I can easily see why this Coy might be valued more highly, but the market evidently does not agree. What about opportunity loss. Shareholders' invested capital could surely have been working much harder elsewhere. It is a cardinal rule in stockpicking not to become emotionally involved with a choice of company. Q: Would I buy MPH today? A: No - so why even hold it today? My post is not meant to be critical of stock holders. I was, and still may be, considering a stake in MPH, but I dont understand why existing holders continue to hold at the moment. For now I expect to watch from the sidelines. If anyone would care to enlighten me, I would be most interested to hear any reasoning for a timespan in which this stock might reasonably be expected to deliver. I am only interested in the time span. Is this stock ever realistically likely to deliver? | ![]() petersinthemarket
15/10/2006 11:30 | The answer is JCC and Ungaro in the States and UK,Homebody,Akaidi,t | ![]() dan de lion
15/10/2006 11:02 | dan That should bring some impressive growth in my view, but will we be able to maintain the high level of revenue after this year when YSL finishes? and the higher level of stock building by outlets of YSL this year, may cause concern when reporting next years EPS figures. I believe MPH will be able to maintain 6 million after tax for the foreseeable future discounted by a generous 8% , valuing the business at 75 million and thats assuming no growth at all. The present company market valuation is at a discount of 64% to its no growth value imho and the only reason it has not increased substancially is confidence in the long term sustainability (20 years) of the business. Have a good sunday regards........wbj | ![]() wbjunior
14/10/2006 16:52 | Some of where the growth for next year is coming from:- Ungaro Homme is sold in 10 Debenhams, 10 Moss Bros and five John Lewis stores, and Morris is aiming to triple these key accounts to 30, 30 and 15 stores respectively next year. JCC has about 24 accounts in the UK and Morris said he wanted to grow it rapidly to 100 in the next two to three seasons. | ![]() dan de lion
