17/9/2006 11:05 | Anyone know when the dividend payment is likely to hit share trading accounts. I hold shares in these with Sharetrade. Thanks | ![]() skintvestor
17/9/2006 08:45 | Consolidation tomorrow , so should open at around £1.15, looking forward to the response and hoping for an increase in price............... | ![]() wbjunior
16/9/2006 23:00 | alright. Thank for the information Chap1889. I resent a little too much. Your explanation sounds OK. that news is water under the bridge now I hope. | ![]() gb2005
16/9/2006 19:31 | but then they would have committed themselves to starting the buy back! Perhaps you think this company is going to rise or fall from the payment of a £100 RNS fee? Suspect MM has probably charged more to the MPH expense account for a bottle of champagne in his time ;o) | ![]() chap1889
16/9/2006 15:54 | maybe they should have combined th share buy back with the purchase of the thrre shares, i.e. bought back 10,003 and saved themseves £100 | andyok3
16/9/2006 14:22 | Totally agree...... | brindy
16/9/2006 13:54 | Baffled by the reaction from some people here to the 3 share buy back. As a result of the consolidation, fractions of shares not being allowed, the company had to buy back 3 shares for cancellation (and not for holding in treasury). This is NOT the start of the share buy back programme and has never been described as such. It is a purely legal/mathematical exercise to get the new share capital to balance. Share buy backs are IMHO a poor method of returning funds to shareholders or to prop up an ailing share price. I, for one, am glad the board presently feel they do not need to do this and can use spare cash better elsewhere growing the business. | ![]() chap1889
16/9/2006 12:08 | Tufty YSL was around 70% of revenue last year thats around 26.6 million, others 11.4 million. If you subtract that amount from this years (my estimate used)figures you can get a feel for the growth of the new acquisitions and labels. I believe that the revenue at the interim stage will be 40 million, if you extract 13.3 million being YSL you are left with 26.7 million for Moda ect, thats over 130% growth for new business. He who dares wins my friend and now is the time, good luck................ PS Sleeping like a baby lol | ![]() wbjunior
16/9/2006 10:17 | Morning WBJ, I agree that when you look at other company's within this sector MPH is not rated the same way. I think most of this is down to sentiment and the history of the man at the top. MPH have a history for making silly mistakes IMHO with regard to how they handle things and the latest RNS is yet another one. I hope they come good for you my friend but I am happy to invest elsewhere. Maybe when I can see no sign of possible bad news I will rejoin but with two outstanding issues to clear up (YSL + OB) as they say on Dragon's Den I am out. SL. is my darling share at the moment and while I could have made more here in the few months I have held it it does let me sleep easier at night. Good luck to all holders. | ![]() tuftymatt
15/9/2006 22:30 | the term short termer brigade ... was in mind. First consolidation, now the 3 share buy back. What is this company thinking? Could be a mistake, if not hope they are not ill-advised enough to issue an other RNS (£100 more pound down the drainage) to confirm "No it was true only 3 bl..dy shares at a premimum because we are loaded of cash and confidence by investors". It would be a devastating move and surely a clear signal for ST brigade to sledge hammer any prospect. I am not sure what they want. paying +£33 a share, a hint that level should be the share price right place in their opinion/dream? | ![]() gb2005
15/9/2006 22:04 | Another google alert which takes you to the Motley Fool site and confirms Remynapoleons earlier post: | blooming
15/9/2006 18:49 | Hi everyone, Just read the RNS from yesterday and it can't be right can it?? Why on earth would they only buy 3 shares in the buy back scheme? If they had only asked WBJ I am sure he would have been happy to round the numbers up to double figures for a place on the board.....LOL | ![]() tuftymatt
15/9/2006 16:52 | Thanks for AGM feedback.Previously suggested or is word alleged that MM also one behind O.Boateng ill advised fiasco, debacle call it what you will.Blame it on leavers is possibly best PR spin. Just hope that affair if that close to conclusion and potential costs bombshell doesn't scupper share consolidation. Bloody good riddance once behind us. Such news could short term be excuse for shorting brigade to move in and holders witness post consolidation drop.Nice to move on post YSL as well.Company confident MODA will offset YSL losses and waiting confirmation actual numbers.Good news share price held above 22.5p.All to play for next week. | ![]() lex1000
15/9/2006 10:46 | Remy thanks for the information, good luck................ | ![]() wbjunior
15/9/2006 10:03 | I understand from someone who attended the AGM, (and had a private conversation with MM afterwards )that the Boatang affair was handled badly and mistakes were made, but matters are now close to conclusion. Also, apparently the person or persons responsible are no longer with the company. Unfortunately the cost to the company is not yet clear. It was stated at the meeting that YSL were approximately 60 to 70% of the companys turnover. Lets hope Ungaro, JCC et all are acceptable to our major customers as suitable replacements and that Moda will work some magic in the US. remynapoleon | remynapoleon

15/9/2006 08:46 | They could have bought a larger number ending in a 3 though, to make the whole exercise worthwhile. But then, despite all their grand talk of share buybacks, perhaps they haven't actually got any money to do it with. | ![]() verulamium
15/9/2006 08:42 | TSTL - not much choice in the matter. The shares had to be acquired for the consolidation and all buy backs have to be reported. | ![]() chap1889
