05/3/2007 10:57 | Back from hol`s, I see the share price has moved up a smidge, against the stockmarket as well, has anybody else noticed in the cicular that mph finally purchased Moda for $2.8 million as opposed to the $5.5 million originally quoted price? or have I read it wrong? | ![]() dan de lion
05/3/2007 09:31 | Good morning everyone, steady start to week with news flow due anytime. Looking after grandson until 1 so hopefully look back then. Have a good day...........wbj | ![]() wbjunior
02/3/2007 16:12 | wbj,my 50:50 bet is that volatility blows over in a few weeks time.Fact happened Feb took me a little bit by surprise. Markets a bit overheated,substanti | ![]() lex1000
02/3/2007 16:04 | Agree lex but I have been holding for 3 years and now the company is moving forward I would like the market to stay bullish for another 18 months to realise the full value of my investment.......... | ![]() wbjunior
02/3/2007 15:56 | wbj,the market beats peeps over leveraged who have to sell good ones to make up losses elsewhere or those that panic sell. For those that have focused & invested in value stocks which can afford to hold medium to long term should see fundementals value out.Dividends nice little earner whilst one is waiting. | ![]() lex1000
02/3/2007 15:47 | hi lex and tufty great to see both your opinions, all opinions welcome. Just got back all finished with decorating now, horrible job. Quiet day by the look of things with mm happy to pick up a few more. The only worry I have is that the market will beat us rather than the company, we shall have to see..............wbj | ![]() wbjunior
02/3/2007 15:25 | Tufty, You could make a case either way.The market will vote one way or the other.Personal view using common sense & logic is that: IF Greenmark final piece in the puzzle which with other brands "more than replaces/makes up loss of YSL."From the numbers crunched here on thread would have thought market having kept the share price suppressed two years would now reflect both value and potential equalling at least former highs of 37p/185p and leads one to believe MPH can achieve 200p+.Chart looks good for breakout above 150p.There may be more details we do not know about and hope Marchpole does not disappoint in other areas.True picture as to how MPH trading post YSL better known November time.MPH looks good investment in terms growth & income. If had kept shares bought @ 100p I would continue holding. One cannot be 100% sure about anything and you may well be proved right.Think both MPH and o/t investment heading higher.Directors have incentives to get shareholder value here for exercise of options,Directors have bought shares and Fundies accumulated & holding. | ![]() lex1000
02/3/2007 14:38 | Lex, You say you would expect MPH to rise on conformation acquisition approval next week. Do you not feel that the recent rise in price, pre market jitters, would not = the fact that the market has already priced this deal in? | ![]() tuftymatt
02/3/2007 12:46 | A profit is never a profit until banked.Never knowingly knock anyone taking profits and by no means small potatoes.Comfortable and what's right for each investor. No point putting self through stress as always likelihood do something silly.Investing/trad Considered expressed opinion is MPH rises on confirmation acquisition approval next week.Taken together with all brands very positive for Marchpole should mean value reflected in a higher share price.John Lewis sales are up.Waiting MPH issue trading update to confirm how things are going which hopefully points to even stronger trading potential post ysl later year.Value, growth,in | ![]() lex1000
02/3/2007 11:23 | Thanks Tuftymatt, and the same to you! I bought originally at the pre-consolidation high of around 36p, crystalised my biggest loss at that time at around 25p, but it paid to monitor the news and price and it was obvious it was way oversold as it approached 12p. It will be nice to have some dry powder for a change if there is a bit of a downturn. Cheers, Rich | rrogans
02/3/2007 11:11 | rrogans, Good luck to you mate. By locking in a very good 1 year profit you can sit back and relax. If it goes up then so what because it can quickly fall again as most shares have shown this week. May hit many people last year harder than this week so far and my point all along since the China news is that most people will sooner bank money than risk it at the moment. Well done and enjoy your weekend. | ![]() tuftymatt
02/3/2007 10:50 | Hi All, I'm feeling a little nervous about the current trading conditions, so I've decided to sell - I had 7904 and got 145.75, probably small potatoes for most of you. I was lucky enough to buy at around 12p last year, and after seeing my portfolio decimated last May, I'm adamant to lock in some profits this year. Good luck to holders! Rich | rrogans

01/3/2007 16:11 | Just back and pleased with move although I am knackered from decorating. Good rise looking at the markets but I did expect news today, perhaps tomorrow now.............wbj Off to snooker and a well deserved glass of beer cu all tomorrow and remember, keep on holding | ![]() wbjunior
01/3/2007 14:41 | Well as I said yesterday I thought a positive start in the UK would see a return to blue here but to be honest am surprised to see it keeping most of todays gains as the general market place tanks again. As lex says I also feel that must bode well for the future. With the DOW just started I am not confident to buy anything but MPH would be near the top of my list if I were to dip a toe back in these shark infested waters. | ![]() tuftymatt
01/3/2007 11:06 | wbj,MPH look safe bet for reasons posted before.Accounts for why share price held firm compared to others and good rise today.Firm date 7th.March for approval of acquisition in my book = 185p and therefore breakout above 150p to be expected.Usual proviso that nothing unforseen or that is not known. One way bet fwiw imho.Have you noticed o/t we discussed yesterday continues make gains as thought it would do.PET down a tad.My o/t major holdings needs H1 trading update, date for which is unknown & cud come anytime.Keep smiling here ;o) p.s quite possible for MPH to breakout above 150p in anticipation of approval 7th.March.Keep thinking vertical Harrier Jet! Nice looking chart. lol. | ![]() lex1000
