Wait for the responses from Plus 500 holders.

"I bought this for the long term, short term dips are to be expected".
"The long term prospects are outstanding".
"It's a very minor holding in my portfolio".

Good Morning Minerve,

Plus 500. Oh dear.
They were a real bargain in February at 1500, they must be a 'hell of a buy' now.

A song for getting :-

Getting to know you, Getting to feel free and easy,
When I am with you, Getting to know what to say,
Haven't you noticed, Suddenly I'm bright and breezy?
Because of all the beautiful and new Things I'm learning about you,
Day by day

Getting to know you, Putting it my way, But nicely,
You are precisely,
My cup of tea.

Another good start for MRO shares today, making around 10p in 2 days.

Now yertiz, who believes I have no MRO shares, will be comforted in the thought that my wallet is totally unaffected by this rise, as opposed to, for example, the wallet of a different investor who held say 200,000+ shares, who would be £20,000 better off as result.

Yes, they are both using multiple profiles. Have a look at 'beetlejuice' too. Bit sad really.

ShareholderGray on the Kier board seems very like Meanlodge, using very old words like ‘Tosh.’ Only appeared a couple of days ago and gives Porky lots of support - he needs it!!!!

Buy a Melrose share and Brexit will be your 'friend for life' - as long as you listen to his exciting stories and don't question the MRO investment.

LOL

RBC were a lead advisor to MRO in the GKN bid and shared £50 million in fees with two other banks. Not quite up to MRO Director levels but enough to make a friend for life.

2 more entries for my compilation of 'The Windbag Chronicles'.

Come on, let's have more, and from yet more contributors.
It's simple; you just state some aspect of yourself, or achievement, which makes you wonderful in the eyes of others.

For example :

"I just bought at 60p and sold at 72p. Not bad, eh?"

"I just showed the local butcher how to make good sausages. He's interested in my gravy recipe also."

Tournesol

I had a quick look after your previous post re Parked. Its not a sector I generally invest in. I'll look in more detail. Apart from yesterday when the weather was pretty poor I've been very busy as I have today.

Getting

Enjoy the sun. Had a delicious all-day breakfast at lunchtime with family. Couliflower cheese tonight.

Agree about the Gruesome Twosome.

PS. Burford moving up quickly - is it time yet?

Well I thought it was an interesting post from Tournesol. I'm just about to get the BBQ going in our garden in Gran Canaria, it's warm and sunny, we have mojitos ready, and then I'm going to have a look at Parkmead myself while the food is cooking. So my thanks to Tournesol. It certainly makes a nice change from endless dull posts from Meanwhile/Ryelodge about Directors' bonuses!!

off topic - with apologies

It's a week since I suggested you look at Parkmead as a Mittelstand kind of company.

Since then they have risen from 60p to 72p - a nice little 20% in a week. Which is quite pleasing.

They are my second biggest holding.

Getting, you are of course correct. Kier bought cash at the expense of its shareholders. My brother in law has worked for the same outfit for 30 years which has now been bought out three times to access cash. Each time it was characterised by high revenue and low profitability but cash was the problem. It is now owned by a large multinational.

Sadly for companies like Kier getting the cash due to them is increasingly difficult/slow, and even more so for their sub-contractors.

Porky, I know you're an engineer but you need to understand that cash can be 'bought' whereas profit can't. They are both important and the absence of cashflow can cripple even a profitable company, but if a company isn't making a profit, it's cash will soon dry up, and although more cash can be injected that is not a sustainable long term solution. As a founder of a stock market darling you should understand that? As for Ryelodge's post, what utter drivel. He is clearly trying to cut and paste and has made a hash of it because some key words are missing!
