I also agree with these latest comments. I don't think we have much in common with the arrogant French, we're on a quite different wavelength.

Macron's latest comment on the UK tearing itself apart by brexit must rank alongside an equally ill considered comment from that similar buffoon, General de Gaulle.
He once demanded of President Lyndon Johnson, in the 1960s, that he wanted all American troops to be withdrawn from France; to which Johnson asked if that included the 50,000 U.S. servicemen buried there liberating his bloody country twice from Germany.

For Macron read De Gaulle from 1968, the similarities are uncanny. And De Gaulle was so anti British too, talk about biting the hand after the war....

MW. I totally agree with you.

But that is the idiot Osborne pushing his Remain agenda. He was totally wrong in 2016 and is now.

Macron Pronounces.!!!!!

Evening Standard, today -
"French president Emmanuel Macron has delivered a blistering attack on Brexit, claiming it has “torn British society apart” and that it “can’t be delivered”."

This man is beyond belief. He is still able to say this when he has weekly riots on the streets of Paris because he has torn French society apart with his fiscal policies. We don't have those riots over brexit.

It confirms our need to get away from the influence of these idiot people.

REMAINER RAT UPDATE. No success last night. Have widened access to accommodate Porky’s big head. Better luck tonight. Mind you cirrhosis of the liver may have affected Porky’s ability to move around without the aid of his Zimmer frame.

Petition now 107k.

The Advfn Draper board has lots of useful links. The most recent post links to the placing document which is very informative regarding use of the placing funds and investments acquired.

Placing was over-subscribed.

Thanks B+
It recently made a placing at 530 and share price up since which is encouraging.
Large portfolio (VC listed plc) so will require further digging. I have a small holding in Oakley Capital so know the concept.
Just starting on the reports!

Hi Sogoesit

Yes, Draper Esprit when you analyse it in detail has interests in a number of excellent disruptive unquoted companies in different sectors. Obviously some of the investments will fail, but in reality this is no different to conventional companies having poorly performing divisions that they axe, calling it restructuring. However, the winners really are winners.

"Getting, any thoughts on Burford and Plus. Both going from strength to strength"

Strength to strength, eh?

Burford share price Close today £17.82, Minerve sale c£18.25 October 2018

If it was going from "strength to strength" how come it is still below what I sold for back in October?

I took the money and put it in Kier. I bought loads in Kier, took my rights at £4.09, you know, in the good old days when getting and brexit would stalk me on the Kier thread. Look at the Kier share price now. Oh no. Another bad call. LOL

Is the object here to lose money? Is that why I am making all these bad calls?

Thanks for the lead B+.
I know of Uipath and AA but neither are quoted so that’s why I have my investment in BPrism. Uipath has raised a lot of money recently (more than BP). Let’s hope BPrism can keep up.
I guess you’re saying this Draper Esprit company is quoted so may be a way to hedge my bets. I will do some research.
Thanks again; you’re a gent.

ryelodge’s latest post uses the words ‘grossly overpaid’, ‘future’ and GKN, all used in recent posts from MEANWHILE.
Some would interpret this as them being the same person. However, the balanced, undisturbed mind would probably not.

You mention Blue Prism. Draper Esprit has an investment in UiPath, a provider of robotic process automation, most recently valued at US$3 billion and which the Directors believe is likely to be one of the fastest growing enterprise software companies in recent history;

UiPath provides a comprehensive robotic software solution for IT-based process automation, which provides ‘‘virtual resources’R17; (i.e. software robots) to automate and manage rule-based, manual processes across various software applications. It is one of three global leaders alongside Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere and has earned ‘‘co-sell ready’’ status through the Microsoft One Commercial Partner Program.

Risk appetite for growth has returned is my view. Maybe kicked off by FEVR's results and good funding support for PRSM. So BUR, PLUS etc. also joined the party.
PRSM raised £100m through a placing at 1100p and finished the day at 1400p.
Defensives are being hit in last few days... and retail is not flavour of the month. Where else to get a return?
