This Allen Swann bloke seems top notch to me.

Found this.

Allen brings a wealth of international business and sale experience to the Solid Board of Directors. Allen met Alain Couder years ago at Oracle, where Swann was UK Sales Director. Swann later brought his international talents to Chordiant, where he was President of the International division that delivered 75% of Chordiant's quarterly revenues and landed several multi-million dollar software contracts. From February 1998 ?February 2001, Allen worked for Prime Response Lt. based in the UK, where he specialized in Marketing Automation and completely re-engineered the company.

Shareholding declarations helped the shares of both Manpower Software (MNS) and TG21 (TGP). Business software group TG21 shares added 0.875p to 5.625p on news that corporate player Peter Gyllenhammar's stake was up to 9.6%. Manpower shares added 6p to 70p after senior adviser, Allen Swann bought a total of 400,000 shares.

bought lots more today. Again late to party and onyl started on last director buys. Alas I was in these at 10p years back when it was all the cruise stuff and when I sold I took off watch list. - ouch !

NHS will be exciting - I have experience of dealing with NHS. IF there is something around that is proven by other NHS users then the reference sites are visited and everyone will think its great and proven. It sounds like it has received must have status as all staff love it , it makes their lives easier together with payroll and saves money to boot which makes the managers happy.

WIN WIN WIN. I suspect the NHS being hard up for cash couldnt buy it but now they are in new financial year ( April ) they have a full purse and so it will be buy now and worry about the deficit next March time.

Reckon a lot of Trusts have said yes please but we can't sign until new budget year in April. Directors no fools but its on a plate for them if they know they have 10 or 15 trusts to sign up in next few weeks I bet.!

For those of you new to this and bought in today, here's a bit of historical info showing how much money this software can save the NHS.......

Two NHS Trusts save 800,000 costs using staff rostering software

This was published: 2006-10-05 08:15:00

Two NHS Trusts have made £800,000 worth of savings, in the first four months of this financial year, using staff rostering software.

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust and Bedford NHS Trust have made significant savings of over £500,000 and £250,000, respectively, since Manpower Software rolled out its MAPS Healthroster ward rostering software for the Trusts' nurses and midwives.

With the current savings projected to continue, the estimated savings for each trust at the end of this financial year will be significant:
> North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust: £1.5 million
> Bedford NHS Trust: £500,000

If the software is implemented across all Acute and Mental Health Trusts, at the same rate of saving as demonstrated at Bedford and North Tees and Hartlepool, the NHS stands to save £276 million – equating to more than half the 2005/2006 NHS deficit.

The rostering technology that the Trusts have employed is Manpower Software's MAPS Healthroster. The system improves the quality of NHS rostering by effectively balancing the needs of wards with the needs of staff. MAPS Healthroster reduces high bank and agency staffing spend, uses staff more efficiently and cuts the considerable staff time needed to create and maintain rosters manually. The technology can assist in making sure that staff with the appropriate skills and experience are on duty, thus reducing clinical risk and improving patient care.

Julie Halliday, Director of Nursing, Bedford NHS Trust says: "MAPS Healthroster was selected because it was the only product which covered the whole nursing and midwifery workforce process, from demand and establishment management, through rostering to temporary staff management. In addition, MAPS Healthroster showed its ability to meet the complex demands of the NHS nurse rostering process. Manpower Software also has the capability and the correct approach to deliver, with a clear understanding of the issues, challenges and solutions required. Furthermore, they had solid references from other NHS trusts where MAPS Healthroster had already achieved substantial financial savings. The trust's finance team is keen to monitor the level of return that this executive-level approved 'save to spend' project offers. Reduction in temporary nursing and midwifery spend in the first four months of this year, compared with the first four months of last year is £284,000. We fully expect to achieve the planned savings of £500,000 in 12 months."

Says Esther Blakey, Nursing Resource Manager, North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Trust: "We have compared our Nursing Agency & Overtime spend for the four months (FY05-06) April to July 2005 against the spend for the same period in 2006 (FY06-07) and we have achieved savings of £557,578.

"This has come as a direct result of improvements across our nurse workforce process from better demand and establishment control through rostering and bank approvals. These improvements could not have been achieved without the MAPS Healthroster Nurse Rostering system which has facilitated and helped manage driving these efficiencies in all areas."

Says Paul Scandrett, Manpower Software's Director of NHS: "The recent National Audit Office report, Improving the Use of Temporary Nursing Staff in NHS Acute and Foundation Trusts, states that the NHS could save £85 million through the effective use of permanent staff and through savings on bank and agency staff. From the savings evidence provided by our Trust clients we believe that there is the potential to achieve substantially higher savings than this. If all Trusts were to adopt MAPS Healthroster, there is a real opportunity to deliver savings to the NHS of more than 50% of the 2005/2006 deficit."

Ashford & St Peter's NHS Trust Pioneers Integration of the Electronic Staff Records (ESR) System With MAPS Healthroster Staff Rostering System

LONDON, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford & St Peter's NHS Trust has successfully integrated ESR and the MAPS Healthroster staff rostering system, and are now using the interface for live data interchange on Time and Attendance and Absence.

Keith Mansfield, Finance Director at Ashford & St Peter's NHS Trust said "our ESR and Payroll team have worked with Manpower Software to develop and test the interface, and are delighted that we have now gone live. We have identified significant areas of benefit that include :-

Reducing the effort associated with producing the pay source data for NHS staff - generating this data manually is time consuming and error prone.

Providing an electronic audit-trial of the source of pay data for NHS employees enabling a better and quicker analysis.

Reducing duplication of entry of HR information between the two systems"

David Booth, the ESR Interface Team Manager from the NHS Project Team confirmed that "we have been working with the Manpower Software team on interfacing MAPS Healthroster with ESR. This has been successfully completed at Ashford & St Peters where it is now live, enabling staff to be paid from information provided to ESR directly by their MAPS Healthroster rostering product"

The solution went live following a detailed period of testing involving the Trust, the ESR Interface Team and the Manpower Software Development team. Paul Scandrett, Healthcare Director at Manpower Software says "I am delighted with the result for the Trust after a lot of hard work from all participants. We are proud to have a MAPS Healthroster working interface to ESR in a 'live' environment on 'live' staff records"

Manpower Software develops workforce planning solutions based on MAPS, its Manpower Analysis and Planning System. Initially developed for defence users including NATO and the British Ministry of Defence, MAPS now also has a strong user base among private and government organisations which need to manage their workforce effectively. In addition to twelve NHS Trusts, Manpower Software's defence customers include the UK Defence Medical Services, Regular Army and Territorial Army, and NATO. Among its maritime customers are many of the world's largest cruise fleets and a major international shipping line.

Manpower Software is headquartered in London, with its US head office in Miami. www.manpowersoftware.com

In the longer term for MNS nms is usually in the 25000 bracket, but currently is somewhat lower.

Good news all round.

I have topped up as each round No has passed. Where they will go this year, not sure, but it's clearily happening for them. Stock available, but less so than for bigger Co's for sure.

yep, but Homebuy nutters are a lot fewer and far between thankfully.

Director buying isn't a perfect science but after H1 eps met the forecast for the year and directors are buying so heavy you have to say there's a smoking gun here imo.

I'm your ADVFN stalker :o) Anyway fwiw there is a small amount of stock avaliable at the moment, best time to buy imo as you well know ala IIR.

Paying 10% more than the senior advisor who just shelled out for 400,000 seems a snip imo.

Yes, it's 24/7/365 nearly here :-)

I'd have thought the higher rating MNS would get in the US would more than make up for any future taper relief Rob!

Anyway - bon voyage - the press have to pick up on this imo.

I can't believe this guy would dive in for 400K without good reason.

I was aware of the director accident but I never picked up on th name there - looks like they fell on their feet finding a replacement perhaps.

Exciting times.
