I'm not too worried about short-term gyrations. The black cab is a cultural icon and the Chinese deal potentially allows it to become a global rather than just a UK product.

agreed there amedin - and plenty of virgin territories to tackle too. I was half expecting a dip today with profit taking following the results but today's further rise gives us all hope for a very bright future.

The results are fine & it is nice to see the increase in the dividend - a sign of confidence.

I do think the sales outlook for the TX4 is very good as the emission legislation will force most non-compliant drivers to buy a new cab. Yes, I know they can convert their existing cabs but it is probably not cost effective to do so. For those of you with long memories, a similar thing happened in the mid-1990s with the requirement that all cabs had to offer wheelchair access - even though it was possible to retrofit the kit, it was more cost effective to buy a new cab.

My confidence on the TX4 means I expect this coming year to show good progress. I think this more than underpins the current share price as it only takes a small increase in sales to have a disproportionate positive impact on profits (given operational gearing).

The results also spell out how significant the Geely deal could turn out to be. There is potentially a massive international market, they just need a more competitive retail price for the cabs which this deal could clearly provide.

perhaps we'll see buys reported later, or T buy trades showing up, as something is moving the mm's up and it's not just the trades that are currently visible

I think the results have a good chance of being surprisingly good. I think the confirmation that the London conditions of service will be maintained are a spur to taxi sales
