Anyone know why the rise over last couple of days? Something must be happening.

Jump on board for a great ride.

yes, that does explain a lot!

Quite credible too - even from public documents there appears to be a lot of latent value in this business. Management are obviously in a much better position to assess this.

3) Management bid - see back page of FT...would explain a lot...but they better offer over 300p a share to get my lot!

I'm here

Was thinking the same thing!

2 possible reasons I came up with:

1) taxi sales are good and those in the know are piling in. The company has a July year-end
2) an annoucement about the dividend policy as flagged at the interims. A special divi is possible as they've got plenty of cash.

The business generates most of its cash through leasing

There is about £5m of leasehold property, of which £4.8m is on a long lease. Long leases have a market value - people do buy and sell them, so I think it's legitimate to treat them as an asset.

You're right, the plant and equipment probably is only of use in making taxis. However, as long as it is profitable to do so, the plant and equipment has a value.

As I mentioned earlier, as the business is cash generative, it is worthwhile continuing to produce taxis and hence the plant and equipment should be treated as an asset.

Property = leaseholds
plant and equipment only of use to make taxis

It's sold excess property and still holds cash from the last property sale (£4.2m). They said at the last results that they would examine the dividend policy in the light of this cash inflow - special divi?

Interims showed net assets of c£20.5m (mainly property, plant and equipment but not including cash from above property), which equates to roughly half the market cap.

I think that is decent asset backing, given that the on-going business is cash generative

What asset backing - it's sold all it's assets

answer my own question, seems an outfit called Edison published the other day. 11.2p to July 06, 15.3p to July 07.

Seems to me there is a lot of operational gearing in this. If taxi sales pick up due to the emission standards then the 07 number is very conservative.

In the meantime collect a reasonable divi, while holding a company with good asset backing

We've got a taxi driver in the club.

He states all taxis have to comply with Conditions of Fitness by July.

Can Manganese produce enough of them?
