29/8/2024 07:14 | July factsheet "The next key event for the Fund is NVDA results which are due in the final days of August 2024. The company has an extremely high whisper bar to vault over, so we expect extreme volatility around the results. In addition, there are numerous concerns around a rumoured Blackwell GPU delay. Should the company report better than consensus results with a positive outlook then this will satisfy ourselves and we will ignore any After Market price noise"....so we are working through no doubt the period of "noise".. nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
29/8/2024 06:29 | Q: Jensen, there's a debate in the market on your customers' return on investment and what that means for the sustainability of CapEx going forward. Internally at NVIDIA, what are you watching to gauge customer return and how that impacts CapEx? A: (Jensen Huang, President, Chief Executive Officer, Director) We are going through two simultaneous platform transitions: from general purpose computing to accelerated computing, and from human-engineered algorithms to machine-learned algorithms. Accelerated computing reduces costs and energy consumption significantly. Generative AI is a fundamental new way of doing software, and its momentum is accelerating. Q: Jensen, in the press release, you talked about Blackwell anticipation being incredible, but it seems like Hopper demand is also really strong. How long do you see coexisting strong demand for both? A: (Jensen Huang, President, Chief Executive Officer, Director) The demand for Hopper is really strong, and the demand for Blackwell is incredible. Cloud service providers have almost no GPU capacity available, and they need it now. Hopper will continue to grow, and Blackwell will start shipping out in billions of dollars at the end of this year. No doubt we will continue this major downtrend here - all makes perfect sense :) hxxps://www.gurufocu nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
25/8/2024 08:37 | Perhaps that is the reason for the lack of liquidity - insufficient free float...hence wide spreads and poor discount....so we have to live with this permanently? Has not hurt short term performance much has it ? | takeiteasy

23/8/2024 09:45 | there seem to be so many capacity limits in the build out for new AI infrastructure that further gains may need to wait for 2025 ...i dohope they modify the investment approach here to broaden appeal as we seem to be in some sort of investment exclusion zone atm next to no interest at all any more ...nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
23/8/2024 08:22 | Watch Fed Secretary Powell's speech this afternoon, it may trigger some disappointment regarding rate cuts in September. I'm certainly keeping some powder dry for more volatility for the rest of Q3, but the end of the year could be very bullish. I'm sitting on my hands and looking for the next dips! | shavian
22/8/2024 05:23 | hxxps://www.msn.com/ Foxconn said the development schedule for AI semiconductor leader Nvidia's GB200 chip was on track, adding product delivery will start in the fourth quarter in small volumes, which would rise in early 2025. "If the schedule remains unchanged, the performance of the entire AI server segment may be better than originally estimated," Foxconn vice president and spokesman James Wu said. nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
22/8/2024 05:00 | hxxps://www.msn.com/ 6th largest fund holding ...nice set of results last night :) SNPS said it earned $3.43 per share on an adjusted basis for FQ3 2024 on revenue of $1.53B. Analysts had expected the firm to earn $3.29 per share on revenue of $1.52B. The revenue figure was a quarterly record for Synopsys (SNPS), as demand for chips continues to grow amid companies racing to ramp up their artificial intelligence (AI) processes. "The complexity and pace of technology innovation is accelerating as silicon and systems companies race to capitalize on AI in this era of pervasive intelligence," SNPS top boss Sassine Ghazi said in a statement. nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
21/8/2024 17:48 | based on today's NAV 18% discount...according to the US hedge trader blog I follow each day, the level of shorts on NVDA at 33%+ of daily volume are some of the highest he has ever seen - lots of positioning then over the results next week.... | takeiteasy

21/8/2024 11:01 | They are supremely confiident but the beta/volatility of the fund is now at jaw dropping levels and seems highly correlated to nasdaq moves (gut feel only - but fact sheet suggests less historic correlation than you might expect, although is this changing?).If NVDA dazzles in the results this month doubters may dive in again and take a risk and trading levels may improve. But we live on a quarterly knife edge on NVDA results and this is not an effective long term investment strategy for a public managed fund - I suspect the managers would privately agree with me?I am hoping over time that the portfolio strategy is broadened out to the likes of PLTR and other linked AI beneficiaries so say in 12-18 months we do not need to discuss this :)nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
21/8/2024 07:59 | Mark Shepherd and Daniel Wright both buying sizeable chunks (by my standards) of shares at current prices -£7.04/7.05- is a huge sign of confidence in their strategy in my opinion. Fortunately I had also bought back some more on Monday, but still not quite up to my panic sell level ( £8.12) last month. Softly, softly..... | shavian

AMD plans to break off its server manufacturing business and sell it once the deal closes, as it has no plans to compete with companies such as Super Micro Computer, Su said Hopefully a nice shot in the arm for the AMD share price @7.5% holding here :) nai/dyor | takeiteasy

16/8/2024 12:59 | A finger in the air estimate of the potentially highly significant hedging profits made on the US index put options closed out during the first week of August. The portfolio drop included our 35% NVDA holding dropping c.20% over this time period (not bothered to look at the others) and our fund NAV dropped about 2% from 31/7 to 7/8. Let's hope they disclose the full details in the next August fact sheet :) nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy
16/8/2024 11:09 | During the first half of July, we increased our hedge positions, primarily in November dated puts, the notional value of which peaked at £140m. This process saw our Delta Adjusted Net Equity Exposure drop form ~104 per cent to a low of ~99 per cent. We started banking these positions in a profit towards the end of the month, unwinding all of these puts by early August. The profits on these positions allowed us to slim down our Gross Exposures and reposition the Fund to a Delta Adjusted Net Equity Exposure of ~112 per cent (on 5th August) at a lower level for the Nasdaq index. Market Update The Fund saw a decline of over 8 per cent (28/06/2024 – 31/07/2024) compared to NDXT which saw a drop of 5.5 per cent, though peak to trough moves were greater. NVDA and MSFT were the largest two negative contributors to the Nasdaq Composite’s performance. Consolidations are a healthy part of Bull Markets and if recent Economic Data prints, especially around inflation, continue to send a positive message then rates will continue to fall which will provide a tailwind for Growth Equities as long as a Hard Landing is not anticipated. hxxps://mlcapman.com Well done to our manager for some superb hedging our downside exposure - 140m of puts takes some serious courage and also well done for closing them out when markets were falling. nai/dyor etc (still want him to broaden the investment coverage to PLTR etc) | takeiteasy
16/8/2024 07:26 | hxxps://www.benzinga lphabet Inc.'s former CEO and Chair Eric Schmidt on Tuesday pointed to Nvidia Corporation as a significant player in the AI market. The original video of his conversation posted by Stanford University, has now been deleted. What Happened: Schmidt, who led Google from 2001 to 2011, noted that large tech companies are planning substantial investments in Nvidia-based AI data centers, potentially costing up to $300 billion. “I’m talking to the big companies, and the big companies are telling me they need $20 billion, $50 billion, $100 billion — very very hard,” Schmidt said, adding that a significant portion of this spending was going to Nvidia. lols...nai/dyor etc | takeiteasy

15/8/2024 15:21 | Nvidia Stock Rises. Rivals Falter in Bid to Challenge AI Chip Dominance. By Adam Clark Last Updated: Aug. 15, 2024 at 10:37 a.m. ET (Barrons.com) Nvidia was climbing Thursday after the chip maker’s rally from recent lows. Its dominance in AI chips is being bolstered further amid peers’ struggles to create a credible competitor. 15/8/2024 05:01 | hxxps://uk.investing Barclays' latest supply chain checks for Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) have returned positive results, the investment bank said Wednesday. Barclays said Wednesday its recent conversations with industry insiders have suggested that Nvidia's production capacity for its Hopper chips is scaling faster than previously anticipated, signaling strong demand and potential revenue upside. According to its report, Nvidia's Hopper chip production reached 400,000 units per month in Q2, ahead of schedule. The firm now expects production to hit 600,000 units per month by the end of Q3, up from the previous estimate of 500,000 units. This accelerated capacity ramp is seen as a key driver of Nvidia's revenue growth in the coming quarters. “We would expect some of that capacity is related to the lower end H20, as China sales pick up off the bottom, but even assuming ~15% of the mix and standard utilization rates it would point to ~$3B in upside in July vs. our prior numbers,” analysts said. Barclays has adjusted its compute revenue forecast for Nvidia, raising its estimate for October to $25.2 billion, up from the prior $22.2 billion. Analysts emphasize that this better-than-expected capacity expansion could provide more than a 30% upside compared to previous projections. Despite concerns over potential delays with Nvidia's next-gen Blackwell chips, Barclays remains optimistic. Initial samples of Blackwell are already in the supply chain, with no significant updates on delays. Analysts note that some sources anticipate a delay of just two weeks, contrasting with earlier expectations of a three-month delay. nai/dyor | takeiteasy
