Should the company do a buyback?

P/E 16 suggests this is expensive.

This is an income play. Buy after the sept XD and sell before the march XD and pick up 6%Honestly the underlying business is pretty boring and it doesn't have serious growth prospectsFor me the issue is why the share price was so low when yields were 1%. It is yielding c6% real return which is pretty good but you also getting a lot of volatility in there.Take a look at CVCG. A credit fund with a yield just shy of 8% and TFIF paying 8% with a Q4 top up. Returns are the same without the volatility

#Skinny, exactly why waiting and stake building will now start to deliver returns, it has been tough watching the SnP pull away driven by big tech AI, but that has given us opportunity to buy value stocks at steep discounts.. :o)

Need this to hold its horses, divi soon which will create wealth for some to buy more as in DRIP.

That's my thinking too - the rise from 180p to 240p was impressive, now after the retrace we've had and positive FTSE momentum, I would expect to see a modest move up again.

Imho the share price will slowly drift north as the substantial divi approaches. It has a few months to go, ergo slowly.

The share price will slowly drift south for a couple or 3 months before the next divi strikes up some interest. Good time to keep adding, then ride the expected wave to XD in the autumn.Fairly good chance of making 10% here just by being patient.

Seems a good time to add to holding at under 200p, so just did.

My last 2 purchases of size were @218.17 & 195.65 - av 206.91p both in 2021 - so its basically been a reasonable interest bearing hold in that time.

Very poor performance certainly not reflecting the ftse100 all time high proximity. I believe one problem is the lumpy nature of the dividend. They should change to equal quarterly payments .

Not sure who it was who disagreed with me years back that MNG is being pegged to £2 but here we are yet again. For the last 3 years a simple trading strategy to buy under £2 and sell over £2 with a trailing stop loss would have been well rewarded.

This has to be compelling value indeed topvest. Where else do investors find a blue-chip name with a safe 10% dividend yield?

Throughout history opportunities like this (blue-chips offering high and sustainable dividend yields) only crop-up once or twice in a lifetime.

I have doubled-up this morning. Compelling value at £2 in my view.

Toppers, what's your plan? Hold it for next divi, or take the rise and sell around the divi?

That's 3 x closing record highs on the bounce. Despite USA down again. Added at 199p. Yielding nearly 10%. Probably will be with another annual dividend Increased this year, like every year since listing.

cjac39 - good to hear from you and that all is ok. Ifound your comments on AV Health of interest and inspiring. AV is still my favorite in the sector particularly with AB's somewhat improved management team which seems to be firing on all cylinders!
