20/1/2011 09:56 | I dipped my toe into GEM earlier this week Martin.. | wolterix
20/1/2011 00:34 | Anyone looked at mountain lake resources please? MOA | mattjos
19/1/2011 22:02 | wolterix, GEM awaiting new resource update to include rare earths for the first time as well as uranium. i think the uranium is lowish grade but a hell of a lot of it. IMT are also next door to GEM and havn't moved nearly as much. update on GEM should be anyday. | martinfrench
18/1/2011 23:41 | I managed to get some at 60c. Should have bought in ages ago, but it could still have a long way to go from here. | mattybuoy
18/1/2011 22:54 | I tried to get some... failed.. | wolterix
18/1/2011 22:45 | Well EPC closed at 70c, up 72,84% on yesterday's close. Not bad, but that's still only a market cap of $33m so it remains very cheap. I lied however, the drilling news today is actually from a separate property in Turkey, not Albania. So apologies for that. Note: Several tipsheets are behind this one now, including Casey Research and also something less well known called Caesar's Report, which I think may actually emanate from these fine shores, though it's difficult to tell. There are couple of reports from these people on Empire below, if you're interested. | mattybuoy
18/1/2011 14:20 | I mentioned this a one while back. Empire Mining (V.EPC) is looking to do chromite in Albania. However, look what they've also found on the same property ... That is stonking ... The stock was halted yesterday pending this, and I would be surprised if it doesn't run hard today. Note: 47.3m fully diluted shares, recent price around 40c. | mattybuoy
14/1/2011 23:41 | I have CNI in my SIPP but that's using IB with a wrapper from | mattybuoy
14/1/2011 23:38 | cagey, TAO has 56m shares out so $225 per share is a $12.6bn market cap assuming no further dilution. That would be around $1 for each barrel in the "undiscovered oil shale resource of 12.65 billion barrels in-place" which has been estimated for the East Coast basin. So, it's not impossible IF the play proves to be economic. In fact, if it is economic then that would be at the lower end of valuations. What I like is that there is a lot of upside in the "already known to work" Taranaki Basin regardless of what happens on the East Coast. So you can't really lose, it's just a matter of how much you're going to win by :-) | mattybuoy
14/1/2011 22:40 | JONNO1 - 14 Jan'11 - 15:43 - 509 of 512 Any reason CNI can't be held in a SIPP? getting error from TDW ----- I think only a guess that only Tier 1 & 2 stocks can be held in Sipps that's what TDW told me when I had issues buying a TSX stock a while ago. Could be wrong and never validated the info given. | keya5000
14/1/2011 20:18 | So Matty, I realise the TAG story will continue to unfold, but do you have any price targets ? Is the $225 wildly optimistic ? | cagey76
14/1/2011 19:35 | Yes I now think that $70 target is actually referring to CNI on the NYSE, which is Canadian National Railways. cagey, The report with the $225 un-risked value for TAO was from GMP Securities, and it was issued to help get the recent $40m placement off. | mattybuoy
14/1/2011 18:08 | Please be careful re the post above concerning broker note and 70$ target. I believe this relates to a completely different company! CNI may be worth purchasing but not on the basis of this 70$ broker 'recommendation'. | langland
14/1/2011 15:43 | Any reason CNI can't be held in a SIPP? getting error from TDW | jonno1
14/1/2011 13:44 | Matty, TAO seems to get getting mentioned more and more, was there an upgraded broker note around this week with talk of $225 a share ? | cagey76
13/1/2011 23:02 | Meanwhile, according to Stockhouse scuttlebutt a US analyst has put a $70 price target on little old Continental Nickel (CNI). That's a bit more than I was thinking, which was more like $10-20. If we can ever get a Voisey's Bay vibe going here those sort of numbers are not out of the question IMO. I shall continue to hold, and I've also taken some of "parent company" IMX Resources (IXR on the ASX) who have a whole other bunch of good stuff going on besides having 49% of CNI, and are stupidly under-valued. | mattybuoy
13/1/2011 22:53 | TAO has been continuing its upwards ascent and this week cracked the $7 barrier. That's a 35 bagger in 2 years. Or for late entrants like myself it's a mere 2.5 bagger, so far. Remember this story is still really only just getting started. | mattybuoy
13/1/2011 22:43 | hi there that GEM does look interesting....? thanks for the heads up Martin - I'm assuming this can be ISA'd, if I sign that form thingy stating I live here and I'm not a communist? | wolterix
13/1/2011 22:40 | No but good luck with it :-) | mattybuoy
13/1/2011 22:13 | Matt have you looked at this one??? Simba Energy TSX:SMB | keya5000
05/1/2011 22:43 | PMG - it's a beauty! :-) | mattybuoy
05/1/2011 15:05 | Good result for Petrominerales post Petrobank split: - Yatay-1 initial flow rate of 10,440 bopd with 0.1% water With 34 mbopd produced over December with an additional 5 mbopd being held up due to transport bottlenecks, Petrominerales could be on-track to double its production for the fourth year running! Was hoping to sell some of my new Petrominerales shares to buy more Petrobank, but think I may wait a little longer before making the switch as I don't think a 4% rise does this result justice. | woodenman
28/12/2010 21:19 | dont post on here very often, but does anyone here have any views on GEM? into serious amounts of gold, REE and most importantly uranium. and looks cheap. any views? interesting thread i think with fewer opportunities on aim TSX might be the way to go next year. | martinfrench
22/12/2010 18:01 | Hi all WPX holders, WPX, will shortly be closing another $20m to raise a total of $40m which all bodes well. Shares are trading at exactly $1.10c as I type. So having commenced the private placement discussions on 29/11/10 when the share price was @$1.09c. They have done brilliantly to get the deal closed at $1.10c. Pretty good management if you ask me. Roll on 2011. c2i -------------------- Western Potash Corp. Closes $20,000,200 Bought Deal Private Placement Dec. 21, 2010 (Business Wire) -- Western Potash Corp. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:WPX) is pleased to announce that it has closed its previously announced private placement bought deal offering. The Company sold 18,182,000 units (the "Units") at a price of $1.10 per Unit, for aggregate gross proceeds to the Company of $20,000,200 (the "Offering"). Each Unit consists of one common share in the capital of the Company (each a "Common Share") and one-half of one Common Share purchase warrant (each whole Common Share purchase warrant, a "Warrant"). Each Warrant shall entitle the holder to purchase one Common Share of the Company at an exercise price of $1.75 at any time up to and including the close of business on June 21, 2013, being the day which is 30 months from the closing of the Offering. All securities issued under the Offering are subject to a hold period ending April 22, 2011. The Offering was underwritten by a syndicate of underwriters co-led by Mackie Research Capital Corporation and Scotia Capital Inc. (collectively, the "Underwriters") The net proceeds received by the Company from the sale of the Units will be used to advance the Company's Milestone Potash Development Project located in the Province of Saskatchewan, and for general working capital purposes. In consideration for their services, the Underwriters have received a cash commission of 6.0% of the aggregate gross proceeds of the Offering. In addition, the Underwriters received an aggregate of 1,272,740 non-transferable Common Share purchase warrants (the "Compensation Warrants") each exercisable to acquire one Unit at a price of $1.10 per Compensation Warrant at any time up to and including the close of business on June 21, 2013, being the day which is 30 months from the closing of the Offering. | contrarian2investor
21/12/2010 17:57 | o/t but I know you guys are a knowledgeable bunch, I am quite taken with MetMinco, AIM and ASX listed. Now I don't even like to pretend that I can value an explorer or even suggest how successful they might be, but I am quite taken with their story. Would be interested if anyone has any thoughts. edit: and the day after news comes out and it rises 12% ! | cagey76 |
