Still holding shorts and waiting for 10p. World markets rising are based on nonsense. Until a treatment for the virus is found people won't be spending.
Yes people with mortgages can get 3 month payment holiday but what will that do to change of them buying a new property with a mortgage ?. Cars aren't clocking up mileage.
As to the earlier poster that said 0% change FCA fine, time will tell but I doubt very much you will be correct. The PCP mis-selling was industry wide and will put a massive strain on the car retailers.

Question is how much did you invest... and if there is any leverage?

I'm holding mine until @ 45p, it I take it out then I can't find any better shares to invest into? maybe #AA, but I have alrady some cash over there with high leverage

These have been massively oversold and after they announce their results at the end of next week, people will understand then what amazing value they were at anything below 25p.

There is ZERO chance that the FCA will impose huge fines on the company, particularly in this current climate, plus i note that Grant Thornton have been engaged to carry out further internal audits in the wake of the “Fraud” announcement and in my opinion this has also been blown out of all proportion.

Sit back and enjoy the ride back up, do not listen to any idiot who states that the price is headed down, its already bottomed and will only continue to rise.

Figures just published by SMMT show the number of new cars registered in the UK in March were down 44.4% compared to March 2019.
Total units registered were 254,684 vs 458,054 last year.

SMMT Comment
"With the country locked down in crisis mode for a large part of March, this decline will come as no surprise. Despite this being the lowest March since we moved to the bi-annual plate change system, it could have been worse had the significant advanced orders placed for the new 20 plate not been delivered in the early part of the month. We should not, however, draw long term conclusions from these figures other than this being a stark realisation of what happens when economies grind to a halt.

How long the market remains stalled is uncertain, but it will reopen and the products will be there. In the meantime, we will continue to work with government to do all we can to ensure the thousands of people employed in this sector are ready for work and Britain gets back on the move"

Nice short positions you have.. The name of the game is discipline and timing.

Lookers current valuation at these levels is Ona P/E of 1.6 which is absurd and impossible to stay there..

There’s one man who will fix this and could indeed take the company private On the cheap and he’s already on the board as a Non Executive Director... (Tony Bramhall)

Results are due out anytime and these will confirm that the idiot Wade was advance accruing bonuses for his own benefit...The shares will quickly recover back into the 40s..

Very risky - property issue provides a backstop but I agree dealer networks will come under pressure.Miss selling risk too great at this price

This might be folded to get out of the claims. Management could be trying to work out how to get as much cash out as possible. Watch out for a 'firesale' of assets at well below book. I'm not saying you can't trust car dealers though. Good luck holders.

What about hidden commission claims against them ?
Vehicles owned by Lookers sat on forecourt are getting older. Any registered as 20 plate will be worth a lot less 1st Sep.
Lookers are still on the hook for 20% salaries and pension contributions.
Cars aren't putting miles on so less servicing later this year.
Low miles on cars at end of PCP, pay the balloon instead of buying a new one.
Etc Etc

Agree 1-2p. The spike to 20p was manipulation, back down to 10 and below in coming days. The extent of corona impact hasn't been priced in either.

fca will kill this. fine will be small but customers will be greenlit to make claims, just like ppi. car dealers are not known for honesty. gonna be nasty when it happens. property has taken a hit too. also residuals on cars. sub 1p i think.

There maybe compo payments to customers as the interest rates were manipulated higher by the sales staff to obtain higher commission that's my understanding. FCA investigation ongoing.

Don't know but could it be similar to the ppi mis-selling?

Provident Financial car finance arm were recently fined £33m I believe, link is on this board some months back.

SP holding up well.
