"It's either multibagger or bust from here"

I agree and that's what draws me to these situations, however my own track record is always bust and never a multibagger, though I say to myself 'it will be different this time' but still out at the moment.

The EPS for the last few years has been between 10-17p but that's in the past. 2019 expectations are for the company to 'still be profitable' (after the accounting probe) according to update. Going forward is going to be a headache and for all businesses, not just Lookers.

Indeed, current price is not realistic. It's either multibagger or bust from here. If you invest in these situations you have to accept you'll sometimes get it wrong and lose your shirt.

I think many investors miss the point with stuff like this. The market is aware of the negatives and that is why the shares are 18p! Is all the bad news in the SP? If you think it is, then it's a buy. This could be the time of maximum pessimism

This fraud that is costing £4m and potentially more is a concern that I think I may have brushed off too naively. Will anyone even be held accountable/prosecuted?

It seems that shareholders are always the ones losing out when employees go astray.

So for now I don't know what to make of it all, though I can't see car sales suffering significantly beyond the shorter term. The nation is addicted to cars and finance for as long as I can remember.

Definitely keeping these in mind to buy at some point, but will await the accounts and forward looking statement with them.

Massive job losses announced today.
People worried about their jobs.
Cars not clocking up mileage.-Less servicing and repairs.
People worried about Covid spiking again.
Will we ever get a vaccine.
0% Finance will be available when dealers open.
Any buyers will never have been in a better place to get a great deal.
Will fleet vehicles get changed as often ?

Just think buying a new car isn't the priority for people it once was.

I was short Lookers before Covid due to their specific problems, which haven't been resolved. The virus pandemic has just increased pressure on Lookers and their huge debt.

But how much is already priced in to the SP? That's what interests me. It's a rock bottom, potential for good upside in a recovery

Perfectly sensible point on public transport 32campomar BUT what is the rationale for LOOK over other car dealers such as CAMB VTU or MMH?

To repeat from previous posts IMO LOOK has some pretty serious specific problems (PDG also)so struggling to see the buy case here.....

Still think this is one to watch, who wants to go on public transport at the moment? I would think there will be good demand for cars once dealerships reopen

Something feels a bit off the last few days. Seems to be some big buys today though share price weakness continues throughout. Is there a big seller or something? Out for now. Have too many sinkers in the portfolio.

I think I'll await upcoming results and presumably an update before doing anything else.

However I do think this should recover eventually, but not sure I can stomach any more bigger falls, even if they do prove to be only temporary with time.

From Vertu trading update today:
"an order bank has been built up since 25 March, comprising 825 retail vehicle orders and 749 fleet and commercial orders. These firm orders and the order bank from previous months, as yet undelivered will be delivered to customers once the Government's restrictions on showroom operations are lifted"

To me, this indicates the low figure previously mentioned on here for new regns in May will be blown away, IF the govt give the green light for deliveries in time.

Agree with most comments on other stocks, so nothing to say, just totally disagree with most people on this one. You may all make £ and I may lose, time will tell.

Increasing my holding here over the last 3 weeks.

Why have you opened an account here to only post negative comments on one stock?

If you have studied the accounts of Lookers you must be short then.

Cheers JAF, I need some luck as I don't know what will happen on any shares as I don't have any inside info. Just punts and gut reactions (with accounts/financial history too).

Yes, not looked at those two. They seem 'healthier' though with no specific issues, though that can change anytime, hence the term 'shock' when something comes out of the blue.

I'm 'betting' the 'fraud' issues at LOOK won't be as bad as feared. The car sales will improve no doubt, once the economy comes out of cardiac arrest.
