15/12/2018 23:03 | bounty Who knows whether he made it up or not but even if the clause was real it has to be read in the context of the laws within which it sits. It will make sense I am sure. Most of these quoted sentences that the chimps post actually have good reasons behind them. The tabloids easily play on the ignorance of their readers. | minerve

The EU and its employees are to be immune to our tax laws. (Article 104) | ![]() stonedyou
15/12/2018 22:35 | Absolutely apalling that the loser remoaners can't accept the referendum result and are calling for a second one in the hope that they get the answer they want. Well let them have another referendum....it won't make any difference, they'll lose again. People are wise to project fear, creeps like Carney, Hammond, Blair, Major, Clegg, Heseltine....they are discredited and no-one will take notice any more than they did first time round. They also don't want to be blackmailed into throwing £39 billion to the EU as a so called divorce sweetener. The electorate can see the riots in Paris, problems elsewhere in EU land, Italian banking crisis etc. Ask yourselves why would people from Eastern Europe risk drowning in the English Channel in dinghies in the middle of winter to get here if life is so good in Euroland. The electorate aren't stupid, nor are the young people of this great country, they weren't taken in first time around and they won't be again....not that they'll ever be able to agree the question. Leave no deal, LEAVE means LEAVE. | ![]() cheshire pete

15/12/2018 22:08 | Richard Posted December 15, 2018 at 4:33 pm | Permalink Richard Tuck (British Academy Fellow) and Frank G. Thomson (Harvard Professor): “Suppose that it had been proposed beforehand that there should be two referendums on EU membership, one in June 2016 and the other in June 2019, and that the second one would be binding for twenty-five years or so, the usual breathing-space between major constitutional decisions. Such a suggestion would surely have been laughed out of court.” | ![]() xxxxxy
