Rees Mogg made a good point tonight. More than half the Parliamentary Party are in her pocket, i.e. government employees of one kind or another.

Of those who are actually free agents, 3/4 were against her - quite close to the figure of 83% in the Party at large who can't abide her.

Doesn't change the result one jot, of course. But it does mean the result is no more legitimate than the result for a rotten borough in the old days.

May is a political dinosaur. She cannot adapt to the world as it is. She is not capable of change. It is Darwinian – she WILL NOT ADAPT. She has said it herself. Her camouflage is lies and deceit and equivocation.

If she truly represents the Conservative Party then the Darwinian process will also destroy them also.

If cannot change and adapt to Reality, in the end no amount of lying will help. End of.

The EUSSR will also go the Darwinian Way - as it cannot adapt and compete, End of.

We are all seeing change - some cannot adapt or start again. Such is life and death.

The number of Tory MPs who voted against the PM suggested she could still be in serious trouble



THERESA May has won her confidence vote by getting the support of two thirds Tory MPs - but her struggles aren't over.

The PM will stay in office after 200 of her MPs voted in her favour, with 117 voting



She needed only a simple majority of MPs to back her under the official rules.

But the fact that so many did vote against her suggests she still faces a serious challenge to her authority.



The scale of the rebellion could mean she is unable to get her Brexit deal through the Commons even if she manages to tweak it over coming days.

Mrs May could now resign in response to her narrow victory - just like Margaret Thatcher did in 1990.
