If the West guaranteed Ukraine's security as you say, why did they feel the need to over throw the democratically elected Ukrainian government in 2014, to push Ukraine into seeking NATO membership, and thereby provoking the Russian bear?
That is NOT a way to guarantee security as events have shown.

I,for one, am totally staggered by the pathetic ,impractical arguments for Ukraine having ICBM's on Russias doorstep..
What is wrong with you all?

You DONT poke the Russian bear especially after Russia had repeatedly offered peaceful co-existence through the nineties and noughties.. No there is more to it
1.Colossal historical ignorance.Does Mearsheimer mean nothing to you numpties?
2. Colossal stupidity[Putin has hypersonic missiles to which there is no defence.
3.Colossal arrogance .. the order post Soviet domination of the world is finished for good[GOOD] and the spoilt little brats in the Pentagon can take a healthy dose of reality.

Yes, we have reached a new low in corruption.
Trumps deals with Russia vs Hunter Bidens deals with Ukraine.

Same old situation, no doubt Zelenski offers all sorts of deals to supporters.

we don't know the full story.

careful The Ukrainian Slavs are the real Cossacks with West European leanings, Putin's fighting mob are the Kazakhs in this culture war!
Trumps stance is give Putin Crimea + the richest slice of Eastern Ukraine in exchange for a central Moscow plot to erect another Trump Tower!

I was absolutely gobsmacked this morning to get a phone call from an NHS dept acknowledging my request for a certain appliance service. The lady took my details went up to the 2nd floor to get the nod, rang me back to say so! So bloody impressed was I, that I asked her for her name for future reference! She gave it to me with a provisor that I rang between 9am and 1pm Mon to Fri, because she was a part time volunteer! Moral of this real life story is, while this lasts, the G before B is assured!

They are trying to embarrass Farage on his statement that Russia were provoked in Ukraine.
They are banking on the UK voters being so brainwashed on the 'Putin is Evil', 'Zelenski is a hero' story.
There could be something in that judgement, maybe Nigel has made a mistake this time, he has done well stating obvious truths and this is another one.
But I see Hammond today linking Farage with Putin in the hope that it will move the needle and shift votes back to the Zelenski loving Tories.

The angle that interests me is Farages closeness to Trump.
Trump claims he will end the Uraine war quickly if elected, Suspect Farage knows his thinking.

It seemed to me obvious after billionaire George Soros and his government toppling group and allegedly other American sources financed the original coup in 2014, followed by the election of Zelenski by fair means or foul.
Zelenki, a thespian playing his greatest role, threatened join NATO and the EU. and kicking the Russian navy out of Crimea.

Russia has a 300. year association with Ukraine, cultural, economic and strategic.
Signing up to American led NATO, the old Cold War enemy was a provocation on steroids.

I was worried at the time and was hoping that Zelenski would shut up.
Now we have death and destruction and a stalemate.

Whether the invasions of Iraq twice, Vietnam (3.4 million dead),or this Ukraine war were legal or justified we could argue all day.

The words legal and democracy have become so corrupted they are meaningless.

If these boats keep coming then the UK will be unrecognizable in another 10 yrs. Its already unrecognizable in many areas but Ive noticed it is now overflowing into rural areas. Thats when the politicians and liberal wokes will realise that they should have orevented it - but too late. How the Workers (Benefits) Party fares in the GE will give an indication of how entrenched and landscape changing things are. They are already changing our foreign policy. We could become an ally of Iran
