All these strikes are a throw back to the Wilson/Callaghan years the lunatics have taken over the asylum & they've taken the Torys with them. Like last time it might take a couple of Labour terms to totally fk the whole job up. Braverman might be our next Tory PM in 10 yrs?

Just a thought. If we all drive electric cars by 2030 will then the government undo 20 minute zones and undo the carbon credit on each individual???

I'm sure if the BOD reverted to the previous dividend policy when Antonio Horta-Osorio was CEO which was dividend payout at 70% of EPS, the share price would fly!

scruff1 .
of course you are an authority on global warming and much more knowledgeable than all
eminent scientists ! You remind me of Andrea Ledson who thought she knew more about
the WTO than a former President of the WTO !

No prizes for guessing which paper this headline is out of,

'When we lost our art teacher I just knew I had to strike'

It would have to be the art teacher cos maths, science and physics would be beyond em and anyway art farty, green haired rings in everything tattooed ponces would be out of place on vocationally focussed courses. Any excuse to strike and bring down the fascist right wing government - and that was probably just the green haired art teacher.

Irrespective of the dividend, Lloyds is a very cheap stock and if we can get some positive feeling around the economy I believe the stock will soar. A nice dividend jump will, all the same, help that process!

Cheers Polar Fox.

I'm hoping for a surprise to the upside re the dividend (Wishful thinking obviously). I've read all the estimates....
It's been awful for years, and no doubt the excuse this time round will be politics and possible losses moving forward. The Net Interest Income will have improved massively and this has been the missing piece from the puzzle since 07-09. I believe the government have looked at the banks and are not planning on penalising them tax wise more than the 3% extra that they have to pay. No doubt Hunt will see good results as low hanging fruit, and dive in. However the price he will pay is international (and domestic) shareholders won't like that, and he has to get the economy moving and attract foreign investors, so we might be ok....

Cheers Hardup1, I was responding to Polar Fox and recall my picture from the past. To be fair I haven't checked the recent buyback, so I am pleased to read your comment. There's a lot of shares to buy back post 07-09!!

I'll be telling them to F O if they do that outside my front door.

Most of the Hof Commons are unelectable - they're either lawyers,of one sort or another, or ignorant tosspots.

We'd be better off firing them ALL and putting the Army in charge for a bit.
