I don't see what the problem is doing your part and see where it takes us.

Many people are still in lockdown. People are still dying. Thousands have lost, or stand to lose, their jobs etc.. etc..

I find it vulgar that there is a section of society who put importance on a foreign holiday at this time.

Why 'at the moment' then? Covid is probably here forever. Are you suggesting that people entertain themselves in the UK forever or is there a number of infections that are acceptable? If so what is that number?

That's right. Best accept it because that's the way it is.

Vaccination doesn't stop you spreading it.

Credit where credit is due the government are right to clamp down on foreign travel at the moment. If we import thousands of new cases we could be back to square one just because people can't self discipline and entertain themselves within the UK.

Four minutes. Not very long is it. I guess the average improves though if the air assault team and surveillance have done their homework properly.

"I'd use a harpoon or heavy machine gun, then let the occupants drown.
And I'd film it to discourage any other illegals to pay human traffickers to get to French coast and then try to cross illegally into the UK."

No such thing as an illegal immigrant in a boat in the channel. Illegality only happens once asylum requests are rejected.

It's nice to see someone like you thinking (with no valid reason) that you have more entitlement to be on this turf than others. What a narrow-minded 19th century viewpoint.

AI tanks sound like a good idea.

Suspect it is very hard to recruit people to drive a tank these days.

Chances of survival are very slim against the weapons of today.

Twenty odd years ago, I was speaking to a tanker sargeant who reckoned the life expectancy of a main battle tank at about four minutes if they get into a real shoot out.

"How would you stop the boats then"

Trick question?

I'd use a harpoon or heavy machine gun, then let the occupants drown.
And I'd film it to discourage any other illegals to pay human traffickers to get to French coast and then try to cross illegally into the UK.

"Many army jobs are non jobs. There will never be another tank war ever."

Tanks are still important parts of the military so that about "non jobs" is nonsense. Air assaults are good for weakening the opposition but taking ground and clearing out the vermin is done by nothing better than troops and tanks.

I'm sure the Germans will build good tanks for the Little Englanders to play with.

Arcola to create 135 jobs at new manufacturing base
Hydrogen technology company Arcola Energy will bring up to 135 jobs to the former Michelin site in Dundee over a three-year period, after securing a £1.5m grant from Scottish Enterprise.

The firm, which specialises in fuel cell technology integration, will be one of the first tenants at the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) – a joint venture between Dundee City Council, Michelin and Scottish Enterprise on the former tyre factory site, which aims to become a world-leading sustainable transport hub.

The Regional Selective Assistance grant will allow Arcola to progress plans to create a new engineering and manufacturing facility at MSIP in the months ahead. The first phase will bring in around 20 employees to support the Arcola-led Scottish hydrogen train project and product development for hydrogen-powered vehicles, with the remainder being recruited over the next three years as Arcola expands production at the site.

Arcola also has a rail engineering facility at the Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway and plans for a service centre in Glasgow.
