Exactly and when the going was good should have disposed of Scottish Widows...instead they want to keep businesses together so the BOD can earn larger than large remuneration packages...if you keep businesses together it makes their job that much easier just to tweak a bit of cost cutting here and a bit there...and bobs your uncle...job done...

If they don't pay a dividend what are they going to do with the money, push the capital reserves even higher than they are now?

I don't think we should underestimate the influence that can be brought to bear behind the scenes by the majority holders - pension funds etc, who have millions invested in Lloyds and need the income. We have no clout, but they have.

They have mentioned a return of excess funds by dividend but I'm not holding my breath for that. Wrote this year off and concentrating on next year.

Did you notice the absolute outrage from Brexiters when the European Commission made moves to invoke article 16? - I mean it was out character for the EU to make such an ill-thought out move, and the Brexiters couldn't wait to jump all over it.

Yet the current UK government just does things like this all the time - it is now publicly threatening the EU to invoke article 16 without a hint of embarrassment over the fact that this is the logical outcome of the very agreement they signed only months earlier. If we're being consistent here, should we not expect much higher levels of diplomatic nous from a so-called sovereign government?

There may not even be another dividend again. Bad debts for banks are going to be huge for banks because of this covid and bankruptcies and unemployment and recession.

For starters, for Brussels to survive they must give back control and power to govern their own countries, open market free trade and Fight Corruption. But hey, Brussels are corruption.. how to you change that... no chance.

The EU appear to be on a terrible losing run. If this were a football league, relegation beckons. Where is their next 3 points coming from? Even a single point?

They should stop fouling, for a start.

Ace blaim your friends.. all we need was a free trade deal. But they have to behave like dictators to protect their "Castle in the Sand". If there is a problem it's Brussels creation. We will survive. But the Q is, will they..?
