Not sure how Brexit played out with a fundamentally left wing media. It was probably the last single issue proposal which resonated with a nation. Right of centre politics will be the provision of the intellectual, the dross & Jocks are the blue print for the future.

Why the scorn on Alp?

He is entitled to his position, even if it's wrong (ie, he doesent agree with me)

Opinions (even if perceived to be warped) matter!

Guess why?

Falling £ versus € on a brand which has its strongest/only worthwhile franchise in the UK (AFAIK).

"The owner of Cadbury is set to return the majority of its Dairy Milk production back to its historic Bournville factory.

Previously, Mondelez International - which owns the chocolate brand - has made most of its bars on the continent.

Announcing a £15m investment at the Birmingham site, the company said from 2022, 125 million more Dairy Milk bars would be manufactured there."

JL, you are so miserable - I worry for you. If “Witless”; really is spinning a yarn, he’s fooling one heck of a lot of people. On balance, I would guess they are less easily fooled than yourself.

You keep on saying everything I have touched has been a "car wreck" yet you have absolutely no evidence to base that comment on.

Investors make errors. I've made some right howlers. The difference is whether you learn from them or not. I lost £400K once when I was operating more like a business angel. Boom! All gone. Never again. Certainly learned my lesson on that one. Another howler was to allow myself to be bought into the idea of efficient markets, tracker funds and figures like beta by the so-called professionals - another mistake.

Thankfully I am out on the other side of this mess and can confidently say I am one of the best investors on ADVFN, not measured by total return but on return on capital versus risk.

I know all the ways to measure and value business. I generally like to use the Buffett method of owner earnings and I pay more attention to qualitative characteristics rather than balance sheet tangibles. But hey ho, WTFDIK.

Indeed they are which is why he should have been a little more circumspect.

You should also have been a little more circumspect as it seems that just about everything you have touched has been a car wreck.

You go on about DCF as though it’s the only tool in town - you have no clue what you don’t know. Not just in finance!

Sadly nothing is "safer" than it was b4.
Nothing can ever be safer. If it is not safe - it is not safe.
It is not safe to leave the house, eat food or anything else.
Preposterous that ppl have been brainwashed into thinking what Witless social distancing was a way to stay safe.
Nobody should ever have a relationship with any other human being - witless did not mention dogs cats and rats or sheep.

At least Alphorn has the conviction to be transparent on his trades unlike you. If you were a professional trader you would also know that trade failures are part of par for the course. :)

Sure, not changing overnight. But there is a gathering momentum for Made and Produced in UK.Educate the public. Win hearts and minds. The Climate change movement shows how attitudes change.Home produce etc is more ethical. Not only food, but much else.Of course not easy, but doable and after Covid it is imperative.
