The elvers are delicacies - so they say -and warmly welcomed in FE.
Glass eels - I dont know - salmon fresh from the Wye - valuable - plenty of green countryside
i know you have pies up north - always have had - and always will. Not sure about jellied eels up north?

A placement in US or Australia, while helpful, is going to be less culturally enriching for Brits than going to Bologna, Heidelberg or Valencia. Is Johnson now going to burn all books not in English?

"The purpose of these ready made phrases is to allow someone to write an article with no thought at all. It's nothing new"

But you still feel the need to counter comment?

Pull the other one. ;)

LynnPosted January 2, 2021 at 11:49 am | PermalinkThe EU is wise not to depend on 'selling us so much'. They have lost the power of compulsion. So we will drink our own milk rather than pour it down the drain and buy theirs. In addition many British individuals see clearly what the EU is even if their Government is blinded by 'friendship and partnering'. We will be buying no EU produced goods, no Chinese produced goods. If that means I have a 'no spend' year, so much the better. I will have more to spend in British shops on British goods if ever the doors are allowed to be ajar.

PeteSPosted January 2, 2021 at 1:17 pm | PermalinkI watched the Lords discuss the final bill. Full of hard on remainers. They nearly all moaned about the loss of Erasmus. What NONE of them said was the HUGE cost of Erasmus. The numbers shoe that for every £6 we put in, we get £1 back.Typical Lords, all high and mighty, but cannot confront the truth.

In the OT we went from genesis through exodus etc until judges then ruth.
We have learned nothing.
Everyone is a judge AND an expert - though their ability to write in the vernacular - the standard language - has been ruined by txt share price and exam boards allowing what they think the test paper means.
The cow jumped under the moon - near enough!
We could have but expected the Unions to use the "safe".
What prat in PHE though "safe" was the word? And the Gov let it be.
Birth can never be "safe" - though so many claims v NHS - it has to be. It was never safe to exodus - but ppl did without wanting to sue!
Life is never "safe" and never will be - a pointless stupid word typifying the abjectness of Govt management - ie the C service and all Gov Dpts.
No brave new world with the cesspit of putrid thoughts in the C S.
Root and branch change -

M2 I didn't come here for money but because of love and just happens to stay a lot longer than I was planning. I do had and still have my own place in the sun and money before I come to UK. Freedom of movement in my understanding does not include illegal immigration created by wars and secret plans to destroy democracy, freedom and life as we know it.. I vote for change. Brussels will never be Europe. "You are a foreigner, no? You came to the UK, made money, and went back to wherever you are? Is that right? So you benefitted from freedom of movement which you now have voted for to restrict others. You need to look in the mirror, pal."

The cow jumped under by over the moon
I stand with to by the courage of my convictions.
Man arrested over by for killing wife

Hardly, Minerve. The purpose of these ready made phrases is to allow someone to write an article with no thought at all. It's nothing new - Orwell wrote about it in the 30s.
