03/12/2020 13:08 | UK's food standards are the best in Europe if not the world. Too many brown paper envelopes for officials throughout europe. The EU make the rules and it is mainly the UK that follows them. Talking constantly about a level playing field makes me laugh, just look at state aid breaches for one. In terms of green issues the UK has unlimited wind and wave energy if we choose to harness it. We should be able to fine neighbouring countries for polluting our air, it's like passive smoking. ( OK I know we mainly get westerlies) | 1carus
03/12/2020 13:03 | xxxxxxxxxx Jock News xxxxxxxxx Struggling engineering firm BiFab has been put into administration after failing to secure any new contracts. It comes despite the firm, which has plants in Fife and Lewis, receiving £52m from the Scottish government. BiFab has hit back at Scottish government claims that the Canadian company with a majority stake in the Fife and Lewis fabrication yards failed to invest in them. | utrickytrees
03/12/2020 12:22 | And the €uro's have the cheek to lecture on food standards. 03/12/2020 12:07 | Ok, we have vaccine for covid-19 but the problem is how you eradicate the corruption and Democrats like Pelosi and Hillary plus the rest of the cancerous democratic party "TO ERADICATE COVID, ALL HAVE TO BE VACCINATED" | k38

03/12/2020 11:48 | No need to vaccinate the young as they mostly get the mild cases, many do not even notice the symptoms Gecko..we know that the young aren't affected as badly as older people. But what part of the 'virus' 'spreader' 'carrier' don't you understand. The spread of this disease is caused by human beings of all ages from 1 to 100 years old. TO ERADICATE COVID, ALL HAVE TO BE VACCINATED. Have a look at California after Thanksgiving, huge spike in cases, even your Trump voter mentality must allow you to see common sense. | goldfinger16

03/12/2020 11:18 | I'm not positive on Vodafone Port. But that's because my I'm sitting on a loss on my current stake. Fortunately made out like a bandit when Vod sold off its Verizon stake so net/net am up overall. Wish I hadn't bought back in. Decent yield though I suppose. Not as good as prior. Their customer service sucks balls though and I will never get another service with them. | geckotheglorious

03/12/2020 11:13 | FYI Fannyflaps Here are the vaccination phases: ""1 Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers 2 All those 80 years of age and over Frontline health and social care workers 3 All those 75 years of age and over 4 All those 70 years of age and over Clinically extremely vulnerable individuals* 5 All those 65 years of age and over 6 All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality 7 All those 60 years of age and over 8 All those 55 years of age and over 9 All those 50 years of age and over * Clinically extremely vulnerable individuals are described here. This advice on vaccination does not include pregnant women and those under the age of 16 years (see above) It is estimated that taken together, these groups represent around 99% of preventable mortality from COVID-19." Aged 50+ = 99% of mortality. No need to vaccinate the young as they mostly get the mild cases, many do not even notice the symptoms. Vaccinate the elderly/vulnerable, those aged 50 or below build herd immunity without the need of such vaccines. Pretty obvious to most bar the ignorant - which you clearly are. | geckotheglorious
03/12/2020 11:05 | The EU source added: “When they gather the size of the disruption, they will start knocking on our door soon enough. The logic of international trade negotiations is relatively simple: size matters.” How deluded are these people? They export NET £90-100billion more to UK than we do to them. Size of trade flows do matter. And EU will be paying £12-13bn tariffs(Net £6.5-7bn to UK post UK's £6bn to EU) in even we WTO. That is before changing consumption takes place and people source more of their produce from |rest of the world. ie Engage in substitution. | geckotheglorious |
