The UK can never be free from America, will always obey it.

That's why we joined in the Vietnam War, is it?

The difference between you and Minerve is that Minerve knows what he's writing is claptrap.

What a nonsense... always was thesame and is going to stay thesame no matter if we stay with in eu or not...One example (of many) to prove my point and your nonsense... Blair and Iraq war!!So stop blaming Brexit and grow up, as for Minerva he is from another storybook.

Wllm, I agree, even now before winter flue is taking more lives than Covid according to one report. Now we know how to treat it I think those that haven't had it should get it before winter and build up the herd immunity. I think there is a majority of people that have had it and not known it. I know what I have said seems odd about getting it but I think if your fit you will very probably just get it in the mildest form but get that immunity that's spoken of before winter. I agree care homes are a different matter.

And the EU is no family. It is a fig leaf for Germany and their activities in WW2. The EU is now another word for German Conquest and the German Empire now. The EUSSR is rotten to the core. The EUSSR is ruled by German Diktat. And Boy Macron falls for it, hook, line and sinker. The EUSSR is BAD, BAD, BAD.Got to go. Have a nice day.

Scotland can never be free from the UK as it depends upon it.
The UK can never be free from America, will always obey it.

Someone recently described an independent UK post Brexit as a mouse on the American Eagles head.

Scotland is part of the United Kingdom. History has moved on. Not just United, but FAMILY. And that is even stronger. Romanticism is no substitute for practicality and family. Sorry , but you are living in thw Past.

Most excellent piece from The Telegraph last night, Max. It seems hardly anyone saw it, which is a pity.

However, one of the Telegraph readers made the point that Boris (like Trump) has a gigantic swamp of 50 years accumulated wokery to clear and you can't reasonably expect this to be done overnight. Furthermore, he still has a huge fight against entrenched forces on his hands to get a real Brexit done - and this must be his first priority.

James Lawrence22 Aug 2020 8:00AMUtterly crazy. Hardly anyone dying. INNACURATE PCR TESTING WITH LOADS OF FALSE POSITIVES! A whole army of scientists not given airtime to explain this is OVER and governments pretty much taking our human rights and liberty. Never did I think I'd live in such a dark age. My wife and I have already put off having children - who would want to bring them into this risk averse, nanny society of puritan mask wearers, furtive glances behind their face nappies at the next biohazard walking down the street. The screens. The misery of those who go shopping. It's so depressing.

Appreciate the idea (Sov), etc....but what of your fishing fleet, does it apply to them? Hounded out of our waters rather recently!

Maybe it will dawn on somebody one day, I'm buying fish (regular), in France, caught by an Englishman, sold through at least 3 parties, whereas I often catch and sell, or buy through 1 party? Cut out 2 phases, good cost cut.

We do not have access to some delicate stuff from UK, as only fish in Locquirec local waters, but the inference is there.

Do you remember the Cod War, who won? Iceland!

Channel War with the French fishing boats? You have little Royal Navy, how the hell do you expect to control?

British, clever, EU need to get a grip, as we will loose out.

Apart from toilet roll shortage, seems the Brits have it in the bag. Should I leave France after 40yrs, no, plenty of toilet roles, and Private Eye Mags if get really desperate.

Points made, hope we can remain friends.

cheers

It's not the fishes Dud, it's Sovereignty. Far far more important than fish!

Sovereignty is the full right and power of a governing body over itself, without any interference from outside sources or bodies. In political theory, sovereignty is a substantive term designating supreme legitimate authority over some polity.

Fishing in our waters, by Brit boats, we would rather have not. Us fishing in your 12 mile Zone, not an immediate issue, the issue is not ENG/France, it is predominately with others, has apart from Alphorn, not one grasped this?

0.2% GDP or less, a good negotiating point for UK, as is licenced fishing potential, clever move. Bit of a Del Boy Move (but are not all politicians doing that these days)?

UK fishers may gain short term, but I guess will be sold down the river long term.

They export most of their fish, timelines/contact/middle man/transport, no brainer.

Its in the papers -- Thats a relief then.
Im surprised you are still reading em. Every last one of them is largely junk, little actual news just column after biased column of tedious opinions and daft comments. And those barmy journos who asked the most pointless, repetitive questions in order to make themselves look smart and to undermine the govt in those evening briefing sessions are the very sad remnants of what used to be a world admired media and is now just woke tat.
If we are coming out of it well no doubt it will greatly upset our Brit bashing sneering liberal elite
