01/7/2020 14:10 | The banks never recovered from the 2008 'adjustment' . I hope the same will not be true of this one . But 30p may be it's new fair value !Especially when they dump more paper on the market at this much reduced price. | mitchy

01/7/2020 12:36 | Never been a better time to leave behind our largest market and look for deals to sell things we don't make to struggling developing nations. (I detect some sarcasm in this FT comment) ROFLMAO! | minerve 2
01/7/2020 12:33 | I fear we are going to learn some very hard truths over the next few years. It is not going to be pleasant, but perhaps a better, more sane, more realistic UK will emerge at the other end which finally commits itself to the continent that it is, and was always, part of. It is going to mean some fundamental changes. For that the Tories must lose power, and never again obtain a majority. It is long overdue for the UK to ditch the FPTP system that has led us into this mess. As in the US, FPTP overwhelmingly favours a two party system. As in the US, one or both of those parties can be captured by their extremes. It is then very difficult for the moderate views of the majority to get a look in. The US has experienced Trump. We have Brexit. No system is perfect, but there is a desperate need to get an electoral system in the UK that does not reflect a minority of extremists. Had the UK had a proportional voting system last year then no single party would have won, but the majority in the country that now favours either remaining or a second referendum would have been reflected in government. The 80 seat Tory majority is an obscenity. An obscenity which may also lead to the break up of the UK. Great comment on the FT. | minerve 2
01/7/2020 12:33 | But still Jacko votes for him , the saggy old cloth Cat lol. | bargainbob
01/7/2020 12:33 | E-scooters can be very exciting. I was lucky enough last year to be in StT during presentations of some impressive electric products like a full size helicopter etc. They had roped off the quayside to demonstrate a sort of dragster electric scooter. Talking to the guys they said take it for a circuit but have you ridden some big bikes before. On the videos you can see the Tesla's blowing off the muscle cars - well imagine the torque on two wheels, even though they were very large tyres. Crazy acceleration - generated a very big smile. Next time I should wear a crash helmet! | alphorn
01/7/2020 12:32 | You know, the UK could, as a sovereign state, decide that it’s in our best interest to closely align with the EU. Imagine that! | minerve 2
01/7/2020 12:30 | Latest polls show 57% want to remain in the EU and that number is growing daily. The lies and deceptions are slowly penetrating the mesmerizing cloud of nonsense and bigotry spun by UKIP and their Tory enablers. 147 billion has been spent on this insanity already. We can only pray that its not too late. No deal would simply sink whats left of the ship. Comment on the FT | minerve 2
