There is ONE MAJOR Achilles Heel of this tracing app:

It depends on the stupid and ignorant British public to notify others, obey quarantine and not have contact with others during it.

Come on, looking at the TV and all the issues we've had during current lock down, what are the chances of the British public conforming to requests from the application during the summer weather when everyone else is partying?

Unbelievable stupidity to think a self conforming application for phones will do the trick. It will not.

We are not as a nation as intelligent or as disciplined as some of the Asian countries who have implemented this.

Infection levels need to be taken very low and tracking done mainly by the NHS and assisting entities. Not some stupid app.

'No more concessions from the EU to UK over Brexit'

Europe's economic problems will not force the EU to make more concessions to the UK over Brexit or any trade deal, the French finance minister Bruno Le Maire has said.

UK minister Michael Gove had previously said the Covid crisis would in some respects "concentrate the minds of the EU negotiators.”

But Mr Le Maire told Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur: "There won't be any further concession from the EU and on the contrary I think this economic crisis will lead to the reinforcement of the EU, will lead to more solidarity among member states and we are not ready to make concessions that might jeopardise the EU construction."

Notice the correlation between supposed self-proclaimed net-worth on this thread and their lambasting of a chicken-feed priced BBC licence fee?

LOL

Lots are telling porkies on this thread.

Covid killed the greatly exaggerated demise of the BBC. Long live the BBC!
Paying for the licence to own a TV is mandatory, watching the channels that are manifestly the custodians of culture is voluntary!

"To be fair, he was leader before CV19 and his pumping of a 30 year old had no affect on his election."

I'm afraid anyone worth their salt could have pumped a whole harem worth of females and still won when you have a very ignorant and impressionable public and Murdoch on Co working 100% on their brainwashing techniques.

Thankfully, Barnier and scientists, and other people Boris has to deal with, on these very important issues, are better switched on than the UK public.

The only thing Boris can rely on is lying and the incredible stupidity and ignorance of his supporters. Like Jacko of course.

Mr elbee
1. There was a significant risk of prisoners getting infected and dying from the virus. It WAS in the public interest not to risk children in classes of 30+ catching and dying from the virus.
2. There was never any evidence to show that the entire population was not at risk of getting infected and dying from the virus.
3 Parks and beeches was a potential hot spot for people to think they were not at risk from the virus and keeping the social distance was not necessary.
4 Because this virus was different to all others and there was no vaccine available.
5.There was no known means of strengthening the immune system.
6.Because self isolation was the safest way of preventing being infected.Wearing a mask reduced the wearer from infecting other people.

Jacko07

I'm not in Rolls Royce. Another lie. Geeze, he really has got the Boris disease badly.

If you had read my comments on that thread earlier you would know that.

Of sorry I forget, the scope of the Jacko brain is only limited to ITV and Lloyds threads.

You'll have to take my word for it. That shouldn't be a problem, if you can take Boris at his word you can take anyone's. ;)

all to generate fear, need to try and get us worried, truth is , there is little to be worried about, but they dont want us to know that, there are cures, CV19 has a 99.7% recovery rate, funny how they arent telling us that, they got to sell us the doom and gloom story ! trouble is, it ISNT working , more and more people are realising we are all being CONNED .

Why did the government choose to open prisons yet choose to close schools when this was not in the public's interest?
* Why did the government not make it clear to the Public that the Virus was not a deadly threat?
* Why did the government insists on isolating the entire population when the overwhelming majority were NEVER at serious risk from the virus?
* Why did the government close parks and beaches when this was not in the interest of public health?
* Why did the authorities not provide Calm Reassurance to the Public but instead appeared to instead stir up panic?
* Considering reactions to similar viruses in the past that were no less contagious or dangerous to the population, why did the government choose to react differently to this one?
* Why did the government not recommend we strengthen our immune systems but instead made recommendations based on fear?
* Why did the government recommend masks, gloves, population isolation, social distancing when this added to the populations fear rather than improve their chances of health?

Let's hope we can make some progress then if that was the case. We need some progress don't we. If we had been allotted some shares for a divi it would have helped to lessen the burden through difficult times.
Now the directors have got theirs I'm sure they will now be working extra hard to 'grow shareholder value' LOL
