When you consider so much greater amount of deaths in the Western World compared to China)..did the pandemic really start from China or was it all along in the Western World but nobody realised it until China highlighted it and the World woke up...

Good posts here.

I bought into Lloyds recently as they look cheap to me. The PPI payments should be now over and assuming this virus goes away then I hope they could dividend 10%+ of the current share price each year.

Understanding the accounts from a bank like Lloyds is difficult though so I am wary to buy more, but I keep thinking that this could be an ideal pension stock at these prices.

Anyone got any comments on where they think Lloyds will be in say 5 years?

Cheers.

Bad sign to have to fall back on education.

What have you achieved and created since? How have you benefited people (in all the various ways).

I am proud that our startup is worth more than Lloyds today. It brings a smile to my face every time that I past the tombstone.

Happy Easter (to most).

Go for it, jacko :))

Just thought that I'd make clear that I missed out on Uni - council run sea-training school and off to sea with you, my boy, at 16.

But it really doesn't matter, as long as one leads a good life, does one's best to one's capabilities and shows respect to others.

BBC does my 'ead in!

The numbers from April 10thBy JOHNREDWOOD | Published: APRIL 11, 2020Now I have been sent the published  back up data for the Friday graphs shown at the news conference, I thought I should just highlight the current situation.Yesterday's figures for hospital beds occupied by CV19 patients showed a small decline, thanks to London's graph falling a bit where the most cases are still concentrated. Current patient numbers at 20 204 remain high. 3335 patients are in intensive care. These are high numbers which we all want to come down. They do  impose a big strain on the staff having to handle this unpleasant disease, which is unrelenting at this level. They do, however, show the UK  is still currently well within the enhanced capacity of the NHS to cope with the crisis. As part of the aim of policy was to avoid an unsustainable peak demand on the NHS, it is encouraging so far to see these numbers and to see the recent levelling off. Of course we  hope to see this being maintained with no dangerous relapse to a steep climb in hospital cases. The NHS handling these volumes will inevitably limit other non urgent work taking place.

Coronavirus latest: UK death toll approaches 10,000

The De Piffle and Cummings legacy. Getting on for 5 times the rate communist China managed to cap it at.

Oh dear, not good, not good at all.

"You are correct Minnie, I have no qualifications"

And it shows I'm afraid. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

Tech or biotech start-ups would hire you to clean the toilets. ;)

You are a wannabe Mike Ashley - money but no class or knowledge to match, an Arthur Daley.

Woodford is infinitely smarter than you'll ever be, and many magnitudes wealthier, even though he may have invested in Capita. Just as a note: Capita has been one of the best investments this century in the large cap space of the UK stock market. You have no idea when I first bought and when I sold. Over the lifespan of my holding I am up significantly.

Now get back to reading The Express, there is a good boy. :)

It’s lovely weather out there and I would say to everyone enjoy the sunshine and the use of your garden if you have one.
However, let’s spare a thought or two for the many NHS, utility and other essential workers that may be working nights and need a little consideration from the people they are trying to help during these difficult times.

When some may take for granted their service, those essential workers may be trying to sleep in order to recharge their batteries before going back on shift.

Enjoy, but spare a thought for those that are trying to help us.

The Telegraph ran a story earlier about South Korea where 91 recovered patients had become reinfected with Covid19. It seems there is a lot still to be learned about this virus.

edit: reactivated was the expression used rather than reinfected
