06/3/2020 16:20 | gw, within the next two weeks I reckon. | essentialinvestor
06/3/2020 16:18 | Suspect central banks will co-ordinate fiscal stimulus next week. Looking at the mortality rate of South Korea it is 0.65%. Given they are testing 10k per day I am leaning towards trusting their metrics. They even have drive through testing stations with results texted through in 2-3 days. I suspect they have the less lethal strain circulating.... as I hope is the case for the UK. I bet the FTSE and Lloy has a bounce next week. I agree 50p + fair value. | gwatson56
06/3/2020 16:17 | Egg mayonnaise sandwiches are yummy | tradejunkie2
06/3/2020 16:09 | corona beer delicious. will be topping up there... yeah, I wouldn't want to predict the very short term over the weekend. Governments can be wiley. Only kept my suk2 for today. Closed it. | ekuuleus
06/3/2020 16:03 | Pierre Your attempt to seem intellectually superior by joining a minority band of Flat Earthers is going to fall flat on its face, and rightly so. Even if the whole thing is a made up story I don't see any harm in stopping digging finite resources - that have other environmental costs other than climate change - and using renewables (genuine renewables - not lithium batteries) like solar and wind and hydro. Yes, there is a cost, a financial one, and it will cost us all to make that change, but at least the benefits are visible, unlike Brexit, where you gammons are forcing costs upon us without any proven benefits whatsoever other than warm and comfy feelings by those still stuck in VE day. | minerve 2
06/3/2020 15:33 | Trump to the rescue, however I fear that the respite may prove only temporary........ | ladeside
06/3/2020 15:32 | I notice all the cretins have stopped posting now the share price has reversed. | gaffer73
06/3/2020 15:29 | Bit like a Bond Movie Some Doctor No type, shorts all the World's markets, releases a virus, creates panic and buys all his shorts back. Easy money, lol | ignoble
06/3/2020 15:28 | To call the very many very highly qualified atmospheric scientists who frequently raise their concerns about the practices within climate 'science' as disgruntled is really childish you know. You, being scientifically illiterate, may have no concerns at all, but plenty of the most prestigious scientists on the planet do have. Calling them names or 'paid for by coal' is just laziness and ignorance. | pierre oreilly
06/3/2020 15:26 | There's a thought Don't like Corona as a Beer, though | ignoble
06/3/2020 15:25 | Looking at sp, do you suppose shorts are being closed? | chavitravi2
06/3/2020 15:20 | Consensus means nothing in science, but seems to be important in pns. Even so, have you any idea how the 'consensus' was arrived at? What teenage girls think means nothing in science, but is a big deal in pns because it's influential. If you think Greta is scientifically important, you, like most I suppose, are a believer in pns, not science. Anything emotionally based (like all the climate interface to the public) isn't science but is an important part of pns philosophy. Emotion is a powerful influencer for most people. Greta plays on emotions ... getting the picture yet? | pierre oreilly
06/3/2020 15:17 | We need to hold corona parties. We all need to catch it before it mutates, get it over and done with, and move on. Why fight it if it’s that contagious? | farnesbarnes
06/3/2020 15:11 | normal flue in the UK causes 10,000 deaths per year average in a bad year. get a grip guys we only have 100 cases so far and 1 death. hyped up to crash the market......... WJ. | w1ndjammer
06/3/2020 15:08 | The US needs a huge infrastructure programme in any case. As just one example the UK requirs tens of thousands of EV charging points for the decade ahead. | essentialinvestor
06/3/2020 15:04 | ... Next comes huge fiscal programmes, infrastructure spend etc (much of which is needed) If necessary, they give people money through VAT free purchases etc, they will go to a universal income as one option. I go with that | eurofox
06/3/2020 14:53 | Understand the sentiment, but they are not out of options. Next comes huge fiscal programmes, infrastructure spend etc (much of which is needed) If necessary, they give people money through VAT free purchases etc, they will go to a universal income as one option. I know it may sound la la land stuff, but think that's the direction in which we are heading. Borrowing costs have plunged so governments can service debt very cheaply. | essentialinvestor
06/3/2020 14:43 | Sub 40 soon, then 25p will be just around the corner. Virus headlines aren't going away by the look of it | kreature
06/3/2020 14:42 | "I have a scientific basis for my views on the methods used in climate science. Unlike you." I do actually. It is based on the consensus view of climate experts and not the view of a few disgruntled so-called scientists who want to make money from speeches, books, YouTube views and immoral, self-interested businesses. ;) | minerve 2
06/3/2020 14:42 | House prices have been overvalued for 10 years...thanks to low rates foreign and BTL parasites giving prices a helping hand. | nemesis6
06/3/2020 14:37 | mitchy : I'm no longer a holder.I am now 100% cash although am tempted to short the FTSE. Genuinely consider there is no quick fix for the global economy. The current situation is far worse than 2008 and governments have run out of options. I can see the FTSE at 5000 AND LLOYDS trading at 25p ...which it did back in 2011 or so. The next crop of bankruptcies could make PPI look like a minor blip . BE CAREFUL. | wendsworth

06/3/2020 14:30 | I have a scientific basis for my views on the methods used in climate science. Unlike you. fyi, i assume viral research is conducted under normal scientific disciplines, like all the science i have worked in. Climate science is conducted under post-normal science where most scientific discipline is discarded. Influence is the aim in pns and climate science, truth (the aim of proper science) is discarded in the quest for influence. Way above your tiny head min, don't worry yourself unduly over it. Just follow what a 16 yo truant schoolgirl with several mental issues tells you. That's where you'll find proper science! | pierre oreilly |
