27/12/2019 17:57 | A large part of the reason migrants are coming from Africa, is the disgusting tariffs imposed by the EU on their home grown food. The EU impose the huge tariffs so that these countries can't undercut Spain and Italy in particular , where they produce salad veg and tomatoes. So the poor people risk their lives to end up in the Greenhouse in Southern Spain and the tomato industry in Italy. These poor people end up as slaves in all but name, living in horrendous conditions getting minimal pay and being charged high prices in the losses 'shop'. This 'food' should be grown in the home countries of these migrants and sold to us at reasonable prices, not at the tariff and cartel prices encouraged by the EU But all EU supporters turn a blind eye to this appalling practice, one poster said when i was having this discussion previously said, "it works for me' and he was a supposed liberal. god save these poor people and their children because the EU wont. | ![]() hernando2
27/12/2019 17:43 | cheshire "should be supporting those less fortunate in their host countries." A Iranian women - who drowned in 'The Channel' and her body found off the coast of Holland - was actually coming to the UK to study mental health care to eventually help those back in her native country. Stop making assumptions. I'm glad to see you realise they are less fortunate so I wonder why you want to hold all the 'fat of the land' for yourself. Pray do tell, by what measure do you think you are more entitled to these things than they are? | ![]() minerve 2
27/12/2019 17:25 | Yes Joe, those fit and able enough to survive crossing the Channel in a dinghy should be supporting those less fortunate in their host countries. You don't hear the lefties arguing for this...one dimensional thinking only lol. | ![]() cheshire pete

27/12/2019 17:11 | i notice no one talks about the huge numbers coming from the third world, africa especially with no control whats so ever.. if they all have good education and trades, professions, why are we so short of nurses and doctors. they are just another load of benefit grabbers,.to educate a child at school is a minimum of £400 a week to start with add all the other costs of housing, health, and you can understand why out welfare bill is so high and getting higher by the week.. immigration only supports the country if the people have a qualification that we need,we have loads of taxi drivers, cleaners, sec | ![]() lippy4

27/12/2019 15:03 | Just a reality check for some posters on this great thread : Fascism manifests itself in both political extremities. Left wing and Right wing. Both are best avoided. Happy new Year to all, especially LBG investors. | bbalanjones

27/12/2019 14:38 | Tony Blair's 30,000 East Europeans turned out to be millions, we will never know the real figure, yet we still have the odious Blair offering his advice. Blair & Campbell should both stand trial for War crimes. The post above regarding £4 billion in extra welfare, just shows how much it all cost the UK taxpayer. We are fools, a soft touch! The Welfare bill is just one part of the equation, how about the NHS and Education, according to the elites, mass uncontrolled immigration was good for the country, pull the other one. The result of the General Election showed that the silent majority are not as stupid as the smug out of touch elites believed and that the UK want no part of Corbyn or Swinson's undemocratic ideals. The UK will prosper post Brexit, the 33 billion Euro Divorce bill will prove a very small price! | ![]() goldfinger16
27/12/2019 14:25 | The trend channel (started early Sep) is still showing lloy comfortably within the uptrend with a top of circa 69p - 70p. Just an observation not a recommendation to follow it. I'm looking for an adjustment closer to 60p or below to add a second tranche. | ![]() mitchy
27/12/2019 14:16 | Alphorn - I suppose you are correct that it can't be 'stated', matter of factly, that the U.K market is undervalued. Perhaps we can say that the overwhelming view ,of the financial sector, is that due to the uncertainty surrounding Brexit it has left the U.K market undervalued? | ![]() mitchy

27/12/2019 14:02 | Interesting! MIGRANTS BENEFITS BILL EU migrants in Britain claimed more than £4bn a year in benefits Migrants from Eastern Europe received more in welfare than the average UK citizen — and paid less income tax, figures show EU migrants in Britain claimed more than £4billion a year in benefits. Those from Eastern Europe received more in welfare than the average UK citizen — and paid less income tax. Ex-Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said it was no surprise that officials did not want to release the figures In the run-up to the Brexit referendum, ministers had insisted the figures were not available. But the cost of open doors migration has now been revealed. Data from the Department for Work and Pensions, taxman and Treasury shows EU workers received more than £2.2billion in tax credits and housing benefits, £1.1billion in out-of-work payments and £700million in child benefit. There is a stark contrast between Western and Eastern Europeans. Nearly half the personal taxes paid by migrants from countries such as Romania, Bulgaria and Poland went straight back in tax credits and child benefit. DWP figures were not broken down by country. But if they followed a similar distribution, then almost all of the taxes went back in working-age benefit. | ![]() stonedyou

27/12/2019 13:35 | The European Union grew far too big for it's boots. It is great to see that we are getting back a feeling of being proud to be British. I for one am sick and tired of the whining PC brigade who are ashamed to be British. I welcome back the patriotism we used to have, we should celebrate the fact we we won the war, not be ashamed! We are better than that and I am with Boris on trying to rid ourselves of the defeatist attitude so rife with our weak Remain brigade. Whatever the Remain brigade say, you cannot deny the facts, the European experiment has failed. | ![]() goldfinger16
27/12/2019 12:58 | "and it will not be for long" ...agree Minnie...we'll climb the ladder now we have Boris giving the nation a spring in its step. They'll ignore any doom monger journos and their carp. | ![]() cheshire pete |
