I would imagine Mon will see a good start not least because the US have signed stage one of a trade agreement with China. Will be adding on any large dips depending on what the wider market is doing. Lloy didn't perform that great against a basket ofBanks. But overall the bias must up now that we've got rid of a Zombi parliament. Plus ,of course, Boris has said he will " work tirelessly"to make everything and everyone happy. What could possibly go wrong :)

Read Ambrose Evans Pritchard in the DT today. Europe is politically and economically finished. The EU is now on the back foot, and will now speed through a deal or we will run into the arms of Donald..One day is a very long time in politics.

As she said"rejoice"

why are we all wasting precious life giving thoughts and breath on the losers? let them wallow in their own stupidity and let us all pay attention by turning the MSM OFF ,most of the time, and making some money on the markets.

What does it achieve when you jail a burglar? Does it unburgle you, stop you feeling violated, restore the possessions that were precious to you but had no insurance value? None of these, but still we jail them, as punishment for the evil they did.

The conduct of a number of remoaners was so completely dastardly it should not be allowed to go unpunished.

Caroline Flint lost her seat by the way, one of the few sad notes of the night. A decent, honourable (and very fine looking) woman and a loss to honest politics.

G2 what will that achieve?
Asking for gracious acceptance in defeat should be enough? We must be magnanimous in victory and bask in it for awhile! Not take the Blair view "We must not be triumphalist" I can live with Caroline Flint, Harriet Harman, Emily Thornberry or Yvette Cooper as new leader of the opposition which is very likely to be a woman, rather than Snow Queens like....Angela Rayner, Jess Philips, Rebecca Long-Bailey,Lisa Nandy or Angela Eagle. (Haven't checked if they've kept their seats)

I thought ineos was taking over some of the older oil fields as it is hardly worth bringing out the oil from some of them. JR can do it because he owns the refinery in grangemouth, which also processes American shale which is imported. Once he has built the one in Spain, or is it Portugal, that whole operation is at threat unless NS starts allowing fracking in Scotland. Scotland has ample reserves of that also btw.

The Oils the UK's it will get carved up just like Scotlands proportion of the National Debt. If the Scots are nice BP might even let you hire all the rigs which definitely arent yours.

No, gotnorolex, I want to see old scores settled! The Attorney General should be instructed to see what scope there is for issuing proceedings against the very worst villains, Grieve, Letwin, Gauke etc.

Then there's Yvette Cooper who unfortunately got back in, the only fly in the ointment in an otherwise wonderful evening. What can be done about her? Perhaps every MP should be instructed to point at her and laugh every time they see her.

BBC Online bias continues.

Watched Boris's rapturous reception at 10 Downing Street on the telly last night.

Then when I checked out BBC online this morning, BBC Online had found a pic of him as he returned to DS which created a totally different impression.

Left wing, lovey dovey, gender challenged kids have gained a stronghold there.

Morphs...well from my angle the thread was 80% Tory and Brexit, much like the nation. The GE result is proof now that a second referendum would have been at least 60/40 leave.

I don't see a change from that. The few left wingers and SNP voters won't change, why are they supposedly investing in stocks and shares while having anti capitalist views is an enigma.

Strange things are folk!

Nicola Sturgeon is as left wing as Corbyn and like most far left idealogues, Sturgeon hasn't a clue what she is doing, she is a jumped up little female version of the bloke who just get trounced by English voters.

I think we should let them have the vote and if they vote for independence, let them become a tiny little bit of Europe with an economy tied to the price of a barrel of oil. How much of the oil is their oil will take years to settle.

If Scotland become its own nation, it may quickly find itself trying to develop its own currency, weaning off British subsidies and fighting for E.U. membership. Those three things are a recipe for economic instability.

Sturgeon knows that the quicker she gets a referendum, the more chance she has of winning it. Because if the UK shows that leaving Europe is a resounding success, an awful lot of canny Scots will see leaving the Union as a gigantic gamble.

What currency will it use, it has to be the Euro, not sterling. And what about borders and tariffs and what about immigration, Sturgeon wants free movement. Will their dream become a nightmare as the Welfare bill becomes billions. It will be a monumental change for Scotland, how will they do without UK taxpayer funds. At this time Sturgeon isn't doing a very good job, health and education is dire and services being cut even though they get £2k per person more than us. The SNP are a rabble, but they have conned their cult to vote for anything Wee Jimmy promotes..

I would love all those big mouthed Jocks to fail big time, love to watch them lose at independence like they do in Sport.

ROFLMAO

Christmas elections should be a last resortBy JOHNREDWOOD | Published: DECEMBER 14, 2019The Prime Minister had no choice but to hold an election close to Christmas. The old Parliament had degenerated into an uncontrollable shouting match, preventing government and making us look ludicrous abroad. When you can not even pass a budget it's time to ask the people.Necessity does not  make Christmas a good time to be campaigning and I trust it does not become a habit. It was cold and wet for much of the time, with slippery steps and paths, more dangerous in the dark when the sodden leaves were concealed in the shadows. The Labour candidate in Wokingham had an unfortunate fall at the start of the election and had to struggle on crutches for most of the time. I felt sorry for her, as it must be  so frustrating and painful when you wish to dash around to meet as many people as possible.I had to hone my skills at carrying a bundle of leaflets in  one hand, an umbrella in the other, and then working how to battle with the letter boxes near the ground with highly sprung backs and tough brushes. If you abandoned the umbrella the leaflets soon got ruined  by the rain. It was necessary to locate the prevailing wind and park the umbrella where it could not blow away whilst tackling the more aggressively defended  letter boxes. We candidates are all volunteers, and I am not seeking any sympathy for us. We do not have to do it, but we did  have to fight that feeling of wistfulness as we watched everyone else getting ready for Christmas. Through lit windows we saw the trees and tinsel appear. The outsides of some houses were joyously lit up by great light displays or illuminated Santas and reindeer, making it a bit easier to find our footing as we went from house to house. We returned to our  homes converted into leaflet stores and canvass offices feeling a bit like the person made to stay on duty during the party. For MPs rightly stripped of office as soon as Parliament dissolves it is perhaps the busiest season for official duties. They  all had to be binned. The two wreaths I had bought to lay at local war memorials sit in the corner of my office. I had to cancel my attendance at the Winter Carnival, pull out of reading a lesson at a civic service, and was told politely I was not wanted at the schools' carol concert which is a highlight of the year in Wokingham Borough. There was no question of dropping in on nativity plays, charity events or other Christmas specials. I will return to Westminster on Monday to a pile of Christmas cards ordered well before the election which could not be signed or sent as they have on them the Portcullis logo and MP designation. The public was generally  understanding of visitors after dark as they sensed the importance of the election and the limited time for parties to get their message across.I hope in future we return to spring or early summer elections. There is so much more daylight, it is a  bit warmer, and the official calendar is less packed with must do events even allowing for the popularity of summer fetes. I like Christmas and it will great this week-end to be able to do some Christmas shopping and decorate my home. I will get Christmas done!

Minerve should take a bottle of Scotch round to Grieve's house and they can drown their sorrows together.

Of course, poor old Grieve wouldn't get much to drink, but that's life!

what are you going to do with your share of the national debt, when you see what the rbs did to this countrys status and debts i would not trust scotland to manage my piggy bank..

its history of bad management goes back over 300 years, also when we had a majority uk scottish government under blair it was a disaster..

so much for scottish prudence..

bobWhat make you think Europe will welcome you over night.. you will not get the referendum before 5 years I guarantee you and Scotland may vote again to remain. And after all that... readTurkey, understandably, waiting and probably never be in Europe. Other countries are in the waiting list for years now and... still waiting. Brussels said no more countries for the time being.
